I was in an accident and after weeks of dealing with the insurance company a check was sent to **** as the settlement amount.I spoke to Avid numerous times before the claim was settled to see what the payoff amount of the loan was needed, and if there is a way to negotiate a settlement to cover the full balance of the loan. Multiple representatives at **** advised me that the loan would be settled in FULL once the insurance check was received.I reached out to **** today to ensure that the payment was received, and my account was cleared to only be advised that I am still responsible for the remaining balance of the loan. I asked the representatives in the past if I would be responsible for the additional balance and they said no. I cannot afford to make additional payments on a loan where I have no vehicle, and that is why I wanted to settle along with the insurance payout. The misinformation from **** also denied me the opportunity to possibly obtain a different settlement amount from my insurance. I will be forced to file for bankruptcy if **** doesn't keep their word, and settle my loan now that they've received the insurance payoff.Business Response

My father passed away May 4, 2024. He had a newly established loan with Avid Acceptance. Unfortunately he died before making the first payment. My brother made theater payment. He also tried to negotiate with **** in order to keep the 2016 Honda Pilot. Avid would not lower the figure and wanted my brother to pay based on my fathers loan. A representative also suggested he try selling the vehicle to ******* or Carmax! As they know that would have been impossible since we did not hold the car title. After ***** refusal to pickup the vehicle I reached out to them as the Administrator of my fathers affairs. I decided to keep the vehicle and Avid Accepted the amount I offered. After going back and forth with Avid and my ************* Avid would not release the Title for signature only so I could put the vehicle in my name per VA DMV. The whole process took 3 months!! ***** title company would not cooperate and I was passed from one person to another. I even emailed the company president. He checked into the matter but I still had to wait for **** to send the title to my credit union then the credit union sent the title to me before I could change the title ownership and record the lien. Dealing with **** was stressful! They talk a good game. After they received payment they could have cared less about helping me.Business Response

Avid acceptance gave me a car loan fresh out of bankruptcy . I have paid twice almost 3 times for this car. They repoed the car as I pull no longer pay it due to my mom dying of dementia. I made settlement offer than I lost my job which I informed them off but they still took me to court. They continue to report on my credit as both a collection and as if I owe them monthly payments which I do thru garnishment so they get paid but they report I'm not paying them causing my credit to tank. Then they put a lien on my house because I had to take fmla. So I can't get any loans to pay them off but I continue to be garnished on ****** with 19 percent interest. I will never pay them Off. And they know this and continue to lend to people preying that life will make it that they have to pay ******, on a ***** dollar car. They also **** send letters to every employer you have ever had to make sure you are garnished further running your reputation this place has literally ruined my lifeBusiness Response

This company is still collecting on a charged off account reported to all 3 credit agencies. I have requested a 1099c and was denied. This company is in violation of the *** laws. Please help me. I only want to be treated fairly according to Congress. Please stop this company from writing off debt and still collecting money from consumers.Business Response

We have been having issues with paying on time but still paying them. We pulled our kids from daycare and told them start 6/1 we would have more than enough money. Were only 1.5 months behind, They said because enough is enough with breaking payment arrangements (even though we still pay them) that they are threatening to repo the car. They also said we havent been communicating with them when we have emails and phone records to prove we have been letting them know what is going on with our financial situation. Hello I been having issue with avid acceptance for a while now. First of all I been in and out of the hospital and I let them no I miss ***** payment and I receive several email stating the were willing to work with me on a payment I email them back and ask what arrangement they had for me I wasnt able to talk no response. I receive another email stated the saying thing I stated you guys always say that and when you call in the literal is harassing you about why you late why you miss this payment. I receive a call from a *************************** and he stated ***** payment was 30 days late I here to help I stated I would make ***** payment on Friday he stated May payment just was due on May 15 I stated I only able to make ***** car note and I would be making May payment in 2 weeks. He going to start harassing me why was I late with Spril payment I stated are you here to harass me or help me so he went on and on about why I miss ***** payment do I disconnect the call he sent me a email that was rude and very unprofessional.Business Response
