I received repair services on 10/29/24 for a warranty issue on my home furnace, and was billed in the amount of $297. On 11/02/24, my furnace stopped working again. When I called to have it fixed, I was told that I would be billed for another call-out for service. I put a stop-payment on the payment check because the furnace wasn't fixed. After calling weekly, I was able to get an employee to agree to drop the bill and have a new technician fix the furnace with a new service call-out. I have had the furnace fixed, and I have paid for that service call-out. I am being harassed by Any Hour services via email and phone calls for non-payment of the initial bill that I understood was no longer being charged. I do not acknowledge this debt as services were not completed correctly.

We credited the customer the 297.00 plus other discounts on the invoice for 1/15/25 and the original invoice for 10/29/24  that we did credit them for was never paid.. We can provide both invoices if needed.

In mid 2023 I bought two furnaces from Any Hour, and they are under warrant. Today one of them will not start, though it was working until now (in the winter). I tried calling them and was told there was a "block" on my account so the person on the phone could not directly book an appointment, but put me through to their customer service department, but they did not answer. I left a message with my name and phone number, and did not get a callback. Next day, same thing. Now five days later, same thing. They will not explain the "block", but did confirm it is on my name and not just an address. This s probably a good way for them to avoid warranty work, but it is terrible business. I want the broken furnace fixed, but I cannot reach a human who can do anything on the phone, or on the website, so I'm about to find a physical address, but that does not seem reasonable for a business that literally has "Any Hour" in the name, which seems to imply they are available remotely all of the time.

We have a tech scheduled for a warranty 2/19/25

    Customer Answer

    Date: 02/19/2025

    Better Business Bureau:

Today, a week after my first attempt to call about a broken and under-warranty furnace in the middle of winter, a technician came out to look at it. He told me that the pressure switch needed a "quarter turn" adjustment, since tapping on the switch from outside the furnace, caused the furnace to turn off, to account for our altitude. He also found the filter was pretty dirty, but it was also several inches too short for the space so it probably was not blocking the air despite being dirty. The current filter was installed by Any Hour as part of their warranty which included regular maintenance, so finding one too small (especially when the correct size was written on the furnace) is not encouraging.

The reason for the "block" was apparently because, during the last warranty-covered checkup for a couple identical furnaces in two of the units, I was not billed for one (correct, because of the warranty that lasts until 2035) but I was billed for the second one. I was not told this, and supposedly the "finance" department tried to contact me, though I have no missed call or e-mails from them, so that seems like nonsense. Despite having earned some money from a couple newly-installed furnaces, they felt that the incorrect $29 charge for the checkup was reason enough to block the account, and then to not call me back for almost a week until right after I submitted this report with the Better Business Bureau.

Ultimately I am satisfied that the system is working, the filter replaced with one that is a proper size, and the pressure switch adjusted, but this would have been a terrible experience had anybody been living in the unit at the time the furnace stopped working, and I'm seriously reconsidering further involvement with "Any Hour".

    Sincerely,

    ***** ************

We had a ** unit and furnace installed around August of 2018 and ** unit and furnace always stopped working correctly. Had it serviced many times and now the ** unit does not work completely. Spent thousands of dollars and ** unit only lasted 6 years.

The **** system was installed 6/24/20 and has a 10 year parts and a one year labor warranty. The last time we where at the customers home was 1/5/24 and the system was working fine at that time according to our tech. We would be happy to send a warranty tech out and if anything needs to be repaired the parts will still be under warranty and we will give them an estimate for the labor.

Any Hour Services came and installed a replacement motor for an AC/Furnace system they installed. They agreed it was under warranty. But they told me I would have to pay for the motor and them I would be reimbursed in about 4 weeks. I have called multiple times and keep being told that they are waiting for the manufacturer to process my refund and they can't do anything. Yet they also tell me they are working on it. I just want my reimbursement like i was promised.

Any Hour tech went to his home and his equipment was out of the labor warranty time, Tech explained the situation and let him know the part would be refunded but the labor would be charged. We have already refunded the cost of the part to the customer. the refund was issued 9/16/24 he should see that credit on his credit card in 3-4 days

    Business Response

    Date: 09/18/2024

The tech told the customer the refund would be between 100.00 and 200,00 dollars I will include the invoice the customer signed that clearly states parts warranty only. We obviously have the right to charge for the labor when the labor warranty is expired.

    Additional information.

    Update on complaint listed below.

On 9/16/2024, I got a text message, then phone call from Any Hour Services.  They said a reimbursement check was being processed.  But instead of the $994.00 I prepaid them at the time they replaced the defective furnace motor, they said I was only getting $124.76 back.  I was told that that was the price of the motor and the $869.24 was for the labor.  The labor time at my house was less than 45 minutes for both the diagnostic trip and the install time.  So they are saying that their tech charges more than $870 /hour.  I told them I was given the impression that the %994.00 would be reimbursed in 4-5 weeks.  And nothing I was shown or explained indicated otherwise.  Everything I may have signed and paid off of was on a phone, so if there was something in the small print, it was never explained.  Had it been I would have called my next door neighbor, who runs his own HVAC company to get and install it with me for far less.  I told Any Hour, that I still expect a full refund or I would escalate my complaint and do everything I can to spread the word about this horrible service, communication and overcharging .

Because of all of these facts, I am rejecting this response because: I was definitely not given anything stating what amount would be charged.  Nor did the tech tell me that I would only be receiving up to $200 back.  As stated before, I would never agreed to their lame warranty nor it's hyperinflated labor price charges had that been stated.  The tech is either lying or Any Hour Services is lying and is saying he did.  In fact since last spoken with Any Hour about this, the tech has been in my home fixing another issue with their last call with the bad motor; the heat would not turn on when it got cold enough to call for heat.  We spoke about the charges and what I was being charged.  He apologized and stated to me, that he had heard about such thigs, but didn't realize how much they charged.  He expressed understanding for my frustration with Any Hour.  He certainly had not ever told me that I would only be getting back that tiny amount.

I demand a more equitable refund, something reflecting a more honest charge for the actual time doing the warranty work, less than an hour.  And I would hope to preserve Any Hour reputation they would alter their procedures to show in writing, up front, the exact charges, for both labor and parts prior to proceeding with any chargeable warranty work.  Anything short of this proves that Any Hour doesn't wish to be honest with their customers.
    Sincerely,

    Scott Sudbury

Asked them to come service our furnace. We used the 29.99 furnace service because it was a good deal. The techs first words were wow that's an old system. (It's from 1999 or so). He then rips apart the unit and immediately goes to the ceramic baffle plate with a camera and says the furnace is not safe to operate because it has a crack on the manufacturered indents. When asked if it's leaking o2 he didn't even sniff it yet. He sniffed it and said there's no 02. Had a second opinion company come and say it's fine nothing to worry about. He also didn't clean or do anything to any of the other parts. He also ripped off the competitor companies sticker that was on the front of my furnace. Now it just looks like crap. They must have put it back together incorrectly now the blower fan sounds out of balance. It was never this loud until they touched it. The service was supposed to take it apart inspect and clean it. Not only was it not cleaned but it sounds like it was put together incorrectly. It appeared to me the company uses the ploy of a cheap furnace service to come in, tell you your furnace is dated and wants to replace with a whole new system. I don’t see the 30 dollar service being worth the time unless they do replace a furnace. Most other companies I called charged 70-100 for the service. The reason I’m writing this is so others don’t get scammed in the future to buy a whole new furnace for no reason.

We sent our tech out to this customers house and he did find cracks in the heat exchanger I will include some pictures that are date and gps stamped from this job showing the cracks unfortunately a lot of our competitors do not understand or think this is a problem and tell our customers "it is nothing to worry about"  We never did get a follow up call from the customer to address the problem and would and will be more than happy to send a tech out on warranty to make sure everything is assembled correctly.

I am rejecting this response because: they did not address the issue about removing the competitor sticker off the front of the furnace. They will not be allowed to touch any of my property again.  They said “because of thier license “ they deemed it a bad furnace. Other companies tell me otherwise and tell me this is a normal “scheme” for any hour. This is u acceptable to me and  I will not be using thier services ever again.

A recent discovery in my basement revealed a large amount of dust blowing inside the basement as the dryer hose detached because of improper attachment to outside vent. On 6/17/24, we reached out to Any Hour because our sewer had flooded. They sent a technician with a camera who determined that the problem was due to old pipes. We spoke with Guillermo, who offered a cast iron refinish. The following day, my husband attempted to contact Guillermo to cancel the service, as we realized it was too expensive, especially since I had recently lost my job. Guillermo did not respond, so we contacted customer service instead. Guillermo then returned our call, and we explained that we wanted to cancel the service because we could not afford the initial charge or the ongoing costs of completing the job. Despite our efforts to cancel, the company has refused to allow it. Guillermo assured us he would seek approval for a cancellation, but after contacting customer service twice and following up with Guillermo via text, he now claims that the charges are non-refundable due to a note at the bottom of the estimate, which was signed under duress. Initially, Guillermo had promised to reduce the charge to $1,000, but my husband, under significant stress, signed the estimate without realizing that the total amount charged was actually $1,600. We do not want this service, yet they are charging us and want to keep our money for a service they have neither performed nor that we want them to perform. We are willing to pay a small inconvenience fee, but the total amount of $1,600 is exorbitant. We have negotiated with several companies and have never encountered one that refuses to issue a refund from an estimate, not an actual contract. Additionally, we feel discriminated against due to our age and my limited English. I did not fully understand all the terms used. We disputed the charges with our credit card company on 7/6/24 (), but Any Hour provided them with a copy of the signed estimate. This situation feels deeply unfair and unjust. We will continue to fight for a refund and believe that our case deserves reconsideration.

We had any hour come out to install split air in our home in may of 2023. We previous only had window units in our home. I had gotten quote a year prior of around $12-14 thousand dollars to have these installed. When the salesman showed up he said a 4 ton unit is what we needed. Price had risen to $26,500. We agreed. They came to do the install in June. Install went well except for the miss measurement which they ended up putting a hole in our support stud and pushing the wall in which also left a hole in our siding. (They did fix that). The units did not cool our house properly and left our house super humid. After about 19 visit and two different units installed they finally got it running it October. (Not hot enough to know if the units cool properly.) talking to the manager of the department he told me they were willing to reimburse us the difference in cost of the units. When I told them that didnt work for me **** told me that theyre was never anything wrong with the units and that they bent over backwards to accommodate us. (Of that was true that wouldnt have had to come out 19 separate times to fix it. Also was told we were the ones that requested to 4 ton unit which is not true considering we dont know anything about hvac. I asked them to discount the price by **** not the **** that they said and I was told that was not going to happen because they didnt do anything wrong. This had been an absolute nightmare. The only reason we chose them was due to there awesome reviews which after working with them do not understand how they have such great review. All their employees were super nice except for the managers. I feel like all the managers did was tell me I was a liar. Not happy with this company nor will I recommend them to anyone.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:I made an original complaint about Any Hour Services #********. The problem which occurred on 7/12/23 has still not been corrected as of today. The attic air handler installed on 7/12/23 was not installed correctly and the condensation leaked into our attic for 4 weeks, when the ceiling in our home fell through on August 18th. Any Hour Services sent incompetent workers to try and repair the wet drywall but they did such a poor job with the sheet rock and muding. They then wanted to send their same incompetent workers to tear it apart again and fix in right..but we refuse to have them in our house. Any Hour Services then said to get two bids for the ceiling and walls to be corrected properly (which we have got) but no one will return our call and our next step is to get an attorney involved. This has been a nightmare to go through and they say that customer service is their top agenda but for us to still be waiting. This whole mess could have been avoided. After the new installation on 7/12/23.we called 4 times because we noticed that the drain to the basement was not showing any water draining and the humidity in our house went up to 37% which we knew should not be that high and we knew there was a problem.but no response.and here we are at the end of OCTOBER and still Any hour Service has not taken care of the problem.and will not answer our calls.
