Any Hour Services came and installed a replacement motor for an AC/Furnace system they installed. They agreed it was under warranty. But they told me I would have to pay for the motor and them I would be reimbursed in about 4 weeks. I have called multiple times and keep being told that they are waiting for the manufacturer to process my refund and they can't do anything. Yet they also tell me they are working on it. I just want my reimbursement like i was promised.

Any Hour tech went to his home and his equipment was out of the labor warranty time, Tech explained the situation and let him know the part would be refunded but the labor would be charged. We have already refunded the cost of the part to the customer. the refund was issued 9/16/24 he should see that credit on his credit card in 3-4 days

      Business response

      09/18/2024

The tech told the customer the refund would be between 100.00 and 200,00 dollars I will include the invoice the customer signed that clearly states parts warranty only. We obviously have the right to charge for the labor when the labor warranty is expired.

      Additional information.

      Update on complaint listed below.

On 9/16/2024, I got a text message, then phone call from Any Hour Services.  They said a reimbursement check was being processed.  But instead of the $994.00 I prepaid them at the time they replaced the defective furnace motor, they said I was only getting $124.76 back.  I was told that that was the price of the motor and the $869.24 was for the labor.  The labor time at my house was less than 45 minutes for both the diagnostic trip and the install time.  So they are saying that their tech charges more than $870 /hour.  I told them I was given the impression that the %994.00 would be reimbursed in 4-5 weeks.  And nothing I was shown or explained indicated otherwise.  Everything I may have signed and paid off of was on a phone, so if there was something in the small print, it was never explained.  Had it been I would have called my next door neighbor, who runs his own HVAC company to get and install it with me for far less.  I told Any Hour, that I still expect a full refund or I would escalate my complaint and do everything I can to spread the word about this horrible service, communication and overcharging .

Because of all of these facts, I am rejecting this response because: I was definitely not given anything stating what amount would be charged.  Nor did the tech tell me that I would only be receiving up to $200 back.  As stated before, I would never agreed to their lame warranty nor it's hyperinflated labor price charges had that been stated.  The tech is either lying or Any Hour Services is lying and is saying he did.  In fact since last spoken with Any Hour about this, the tech has been in my home fixing another issue with their last call with the bad motor; the heat would not turn on when it got cold enough to call for heat.  We spoke about the charges and what I was being charged.  He apologized and stated to me, that he had heard about such thigs, but didn't realize how much they charged.  He expressed understanding for my frustration with Any Hour.  He certainly had not ever told me that I would only be getting back that tiny amount.

I demand a more equitable refund, something reflecting a more honest charge for the actual time doing the warranty work, less than an hour.  And I would hope to preserve Any Hour reputation they would alter their procedures to show in writing, up front, the exact charges, for both labor and parts prior to proceeding with any chargeable warranty work.  Anything short of this proves that Any Hour doesn't wish to be honest with their customers.
      Sincerely,

      Scott Sudbury

Asked them to come service our furnace. We used the 29.99 furnace service because it was a good deal. The techs first words were wow that's an old system. (It's from 1999 or so). He then rips apart the unit and immediately goes to the ceramic baffle plate with a camera and says the furnace is not safe to operate because it has a crack on the manufacturered indents. When asked if it's leaking o2 he didn't even sniff it yet. He sniffed it and said there's no 02. Had a second opinion company come and say it's fine nothing to worry about. He also didn't clean or do anything to any of the other parts. He also ripped off the competitor companies sticker that was on the front of my furnace. Now it just looks like crap. They must have put it back together incorrectly now the blower fan sounds out of balance. It was never this loud until they touched it. The service was supposed to take it apart inspect and clean it. Not only was it not cleaned but it sounds like it was put together incorrectly. It appeared to me the company uses the ploy of a cheap furnace service to come in, tell you your furnace is dated and wants to replace with a whole new system. I don’t see the 30 dollar service being worth the time unless they do replace a furnace. Most other companies I called charged 70-100 for the service. The reason I’m writing this is so others don’t get scammed in the future to buy a whole new furnace for no reason.

We sent our tech out to this customers house and he did find cracks in the heat exchanger I will include some pictures that are date and gps stamped from this job showing the cracks unfortunately a lot of our competitors do not understand or think this is a problem and tell our customers "it is nothing to worry about"  We never did get a follow up call from the customer to address the problem and would and will be more than happy to send a tech out on warranty to make sure everything is assembled correctly.

I am rejecting this response because: they did not address the issue about removing the competitor sticker off the front of the furnace. They will not be allowed to touch any of my property again.  They said “because of thier license “ they deemed it a bad furnace. Other companies tell me otherwise and tell me this is a normal “scheme” for any hour. This is u acceptable to me and  I will not be using thier services ever again.

We received a call from this customer on 8/5/24 and we returned calls and left messages on 8/5, 8/6 and 8/7 - none of our calls were returned - we researched every job clear back to the oldest job in our records in December of 2022, including all tech notes, and did not find any mention of hooking up a drier vent to an existing pipe or any jobs or requests from the customer to install a new drier vent - we just don't have any record of doing the kind of work that is described in this complaint for this customer -

On 6/17/24, we reached out to Any Hour because our sewer had flooded. They sent a technician with a camera who determined that the problem was due to old pipes. We spoke with Guillermo, who offered a cast iron refinish. The following day, my husband attempted to contact Guillermo to cancel the service, as we realized it was too expensive, especially since I had recently lost my job. Guillermo did not respond, so we contacted customer service instead. Guillermo then returned our call, and we explained that we wanted to cancel the service because we could not afford the initial charge or the ongoing costs of completing the job. Despite our efforts to cancel, the company has refused to allow it. Guillermo assured us he would seek approval for a cancellation, but after contacting customer service twice and following up with Guillermo via text, he now claims that the charges are non-refundable due to a note at the bottom of the estimate, which was signed under duress. Initially, Guillermo had promised to reduce the charge to $1,000, but my husband, under significant stress, signed the estimate without realizing that the total amount charged was actually $1,600. We do not want this service, yet they are charging us and want to keep our money for a service they have neither performed nor that we want them to perform. We are willing to pay a small inconvenience fee, but the total amount of $1,600 is exorbitant. We have negotiated with several companies and have never encountered one that refuses to issue a refund from an estimate, not an actual contract. Additionally, we feel discriminated against due to our age and my limited English. I did not fully understand all the terms used. We disputed the charges with our credit card company on 7/6/24 (), but Any Hour provided them with a copy of the signed estimate. This situation feels deeply unfair and unjust. We will continue to fight for a refund and believe that our case deserves reconsideration.

We had any hour come out to install split air in our home in may of 2023. We previous only had window units in our home. I had gotten quote a year prior of around $12-14 thousand dollars to have these installed. When the salesman showed up he said a 4 ton unit is what we needed. Price had risen to $26,500. We agreed. They came to do the install in June. Install went well except for the miss measurement which they ended up putting a hole in our support stud and pushing the wall in which also left a hole in our siding. (They did fix that). The units did not cool our house properly and left our house super humid. After about 19 visit and two different units installed they finally got it running it October. (Not hot enough to know if the units cool properly.) talking to the manager of the department he told me they were willing to reimburse us the difference in cost of the units. When I told them that didnt work for me **** told me that theyre was never anything wrong with the units and that they bent over backwards to accommodate us. (Of that was true that wouldnt have had to come out 19 separate times to fix it. Also was told we were the ones that requested to 4 ton unit which is not true considering we dont know anything about hvac. I asked them to discount the price by **** not the **** that they said and I was told that was not going to happen because they didnt do anything wrong. This had been an absolute nightmare. The only reason we chose them was due to there awesome reviews which after working with them do not understand how they have such great review. All their employees were super nice except for the managers. I feel like all the managers did was tell me I was a liar. Not happy with this company nor will I recommend them to anyone.

One man named **** who just did an asbestos test. The next day 2 new people came and tested moisture reading again and still wet. No one knows the situation when they come. They see the situation and realize that what they were told to do will not work. August 29th two different guys come again to test moisture and call their boss and were told to demo it right then at 3pm in the afternoon and say it will take 6-7 hours. They had no ladders and no proper tools and were climbing around on the staircase ******** to tape and staple plastic to make a tent around 10X19 ft damaged area. We said stopthis is not safe and told them to come back when they had the right equipment. We finally got ahold of *********************** the warranty guy for Any Hour and he put a stop to All Pro coming and sent a sheet rock guy the next day who was also supposed to demo but save the insulation. and this guy tried but could not demo or put up sheet rock on the ceiling without help. snd not able to save insulation. Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:I made an original complaint about Any Hour Services #********. The problem which occurred on 7/12/23 has still not been corrected as of today. The attic air handler installed on 7/12/23 was not installed correctly and the condensation leaked into our attic for 4 weeks, when the ceiling in our home fell through on August 18th. Any Hour Services sent incompetent workers to try and repair the wet drywall but they did such a poor job with the sheet rock and muding. They then wanted to send their same incompetent workers to tear it apart again and fix in right..but we refuse to have them in our house. Any Hour Services then said to get two bids for the ceiling and walls to be corrected properly (which we have got) but no one will return our call and our next step is to get an attorney involved. This has been a nightmare to go through and they say that customer service is their top agenda but for us to still be waiting. This whole mess could have been avoided. After the new installation on 7/12/23.we called 4 times because we noticed that the drain to the basement was not showing any water draining and the humidity in our house went up to 37% which we knew should not be that high and we knew there was a problem.but no response.and here we are at the end of OCTOBER and still Any hour Service has not taken care of the problem.and will not answer our calls.

We purchased a new AC unit LESS than 2 weeks ago, and that next Friday our AC stopped. The guy who came out to warranty the work, spent the entire time COMPLAINING about their installers. APPARENTLY they dont know how to install their systems they sell to you. We were sold by ********************* (sales manager) we were told its not cheap to go through a company that cares. Well I dont feel cared about because our AC failed again, THE NEXT DAY after warranty work. But this fell on a Sunday, to which ANY HOUR is closed and do not even offer an emergency/on-call service. We have 2 small children in our home, that is NOT ok. So we called in at 6AM, to get a girl named ******** (supposedly the team lead) and we explained how frustrated we are and displeased with the outcome of their installers. This obviously upsets us that we spent $7,000 on something that we cant even use, so we asked her to send out their emergency technicians before it got to 100 degrees this afternoon. To which she said We have to charge $199 to have an emergency technician come out so either we have to pay this company MORE money for THEIR mistake or we have to wait until noon. When I told her that we need them to waive their fee, SHE TOLD ME SHE DOESNT HAVE A MANAGER TO REPORT THIS TO!!!!! What kind of company is this?! Letting their employees work without SUPERVISION?! Then because her feelings were hurt because I told her that this is poor customer service SHE THREATENS TO HANG UP! Because Im being rude? Yeah Im sure me being upset that I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on something that doesnt work less than 2 weeks after purchase, would make her upset too. This company EMBODIES poor service from start to end and beyond. Dont promise your customers this great experience, and completely fail when it comes to deliver. We are stuck with this company for the next 12 years because we cant have anyone else touch the unit without voiding a warranty on it. If I could leave 0 stars I would! Do better.

We hired Any Hour to install an ac unit in our home about a year ago. Its been nothing but problematic since. The system will just stop cooling as soon as the temperature outside hits the 80s. It started last summer and they came out about 4 times to repair it. We went almost 3 days at the hottest part of the summer without any ac which was bad enough. The tech they sent out was super nice and worked hard to get it running again which he did. We thought that would be the end of it. But sure enough, once the summer of 2023 started the unit began to have issues again. Theyve sent someone out about 3 times and each time they say its running how it should. We show them video and describe what happens. Then they say they need to see it happening in the moment and requested that we call them when it happens and theyll prioritize getting out here to see it and fix it. Weve done that about three times now and each time they state that theres no way for them to get out here for another FOUR DAYS. We have tried to be patient. We have tried to solve this with them but at this point something more HAS to be done! We just want our ac to function how it should or for them to just keep their word about showing up. They even no showed once so far and when we called and asked what happened, they said we called and cancelled. Nope. No we did not. We just want it fixed or replaced and if neither happens soon then we want a full refund for the system so we can take our business somewhere more reliable.

Had a perfectly working furnace keeping us warm in the middle of WINTER 2023. Technician stopped by for a scheduled tune up on Saturday afternoon 2/25/23. Technician left late afternoon, thinking all was fine. At bedtime 9 PM, when turning on furnace to keep us warm - it did not work - temp got down to 54 degrees in our home over night. Sunday AM 2/26/23 early 6 am call to ANY HOUR to get this fixed. ANY HOUR should be open ANY HOUR. Their phone message informed us ANY HOUR was closed for 24+ hours on Sundays (this would mean we would be cold for another 24 hours and freeze during another night). They would open Monday morning. Resolution would be for ANY HOUR to have a repair person at my home at 5PM Monday 2/27 as soon as I'm home from work to fix things so I don't freeze a 3rd night - and then either start Emergency Service on Sundays or change their name from ANY HOUR to something that allows people to know that they are not readily available.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I was left stranded from Friday evening until Monday at 8:20 AM unable to talk to a live person or have a live person come to my home to fix a serious issue - no heat in the middle of Winter. Sleeping both Saturday and Sunday nights in an unheated home and leaving unanswered messages and texts.

My complaint is not about a broken heater it is about the misleading name of this company "Any Hour Services". This will not be resolved until the company changes their name, or actually creates a way to provide 'any hour service' - so the customer can expect at a minimum, being able to contact a live person "any hour".

On July 30, 2022, my wife contacted Any Hour Services (AHS) for a water heater repair. A tech was dispatched, and he replaced the water heater, emergency shut-off valve, gas flex line and gas shut-off valve. She was quoted $3,895.00, minus a $400 discount off the cost of the water heater. Invoice *********. When I arrived home and was shown the receipt, my first question was "how did the repairman arrive at this amount?" There is no breakdown of parts and labor on the receipt. I called Any Hour Services several times requesting an itemized bill and was told they did not have an hourly charge and did not itemize parts. She said my request would be forwarded to a manager. I went to ********** and priced out the parts used. Water heater w/expansion tank $830.87, emergency shut off valve and lines $71.30, gas shut off valve $15.72 and gas flex $36.98, totaling $954.87 (full retail). This left $2940.13 for labor, or $1,336.42 per hour for the 2 hours, 20 minutes the work took (time according to AHS). I could not understand such a high labor rate and thought maybe the repairman misplaced a decimal. I could understand a $133 hourly rate. When I heard back from a manager, he repeated they did not itemize ********. The repairman charges for each individual task performed. I asked if it was possible he made a mistake. He said he would send a new receipt indicating the cost of each task. The new receipt indicated water heater replacement $2968, emergency shut off valve $313, gas shut off valve $353 and gas flex $261. However, my question now is "are these the rates if no other work is performed at the same time, or do they take into consideration the tech is already at the residence and that much of the work to replace the valves and flex lines is already part of the water heater repair?" He said he would research the charges and get back to me. It has been a month and no response. I would like the rates to be appropriately adjusted and a refund issued. Thank you.

******* Services Provides an estimate prior to the job being preformed that she signed  agreeing to the price and work being done. As explained on the phone we charge a task based price system to be fair to all customers and assure they all receive the same service for the same amount of money regardless of the time it takes the tech to complete the job. The job was completed as described on the signed estimate and the invoice was signed when they paid for the work.
