On June 13, 2023, My wife and I decided to eat at O'Crab Cajun because it was a restaurant we had never eaten at before. My wife ordered the Caesar salad and the clam chowder. I order the clam special and we both ordered drinks. My wife began eating the Caesar salad and after eating about half of it she said the dressing "tasted funny" so she stopped eating it. She then finished the clam chowder. I ate most of my food and my food tasted okay.We received our bill which was approximately $90 which included a tip. I paid the bill and left the location. Once we arrived home after a few hours, my wife stated she did not feel good and that she was burping up salad dressing from the Caesar salad. As time went on she began having major stomach cramps and began throwing up the salad all over the place. The sickness then turned into diarrhea and further vomiting.I contacted O'Crab Cajun in which a supervisor answered but stated she didn't have any authority to help me and would not refund my money for the meal. She then took down my number and stated she would have the "Manager" call **** had not received a call back as of 06/14/2023 9:22 PM, and I decided to follow up with O'Crab to make sure they remedied the problem with the possible bad ****** salad.I spoke with ****** via phone who stated she lost my phone number to call me back but assured me they went through the food items and threw away any possible bad items. I asked ****** for a refund in which she stated "No." ****** then offered a gift card to O'Crab in which I declined because I do not want my wife to get sick again. ****** then stated for me to "Do what I gotta do." and we ended the call.

I did in fact offer ************** a refund for the food in question that his wife consumed. I told him to come in and get his money. Due to the type of system we have, I am unable to is*** a refund to a card.  He felt it necessary to berate my daytime supervisor and use foul language and kept insisting that if I did not refund him the full amount he would *** me and the owners of the company. After five minutes or so of no obvious agreement between the two of ** I told him to do what he felt he needed to do since an apology and partial refund was not enough.

I am rejecting this response because: As stated above, the manager ****** did not offer a partial refund or any sort of refund. She offered a gift card which was not an acceptable solution. We do not wish to return to a restaurant that has poor food and health quality standards and a management team that delivers rude and belligerent customer service. I called to inform the restaurant that my wife had gotten sick from the food, and I was met with defensive and rude comments. If any effort had been made to be apologetic and to refund even the portion of the meal that had made my wife sick, this complaint would not be happening. It is irresponsible for a manager to not take a food safety concern seriously and to insinuate that the customer is lying and to tell them that food poisoning symptoms do not set in until several days later, when medically, that is false. It is also concerning that a manager would challenge a customer and say, "So what are you going to do?" when we declined a gift card, and then told **,"Good luck," when we said we would **** The owners of O'Crab sould be embarrased of how they are being represented as a company.

    Sincerely,
