I've had to rewrite this review on this site for space. We just moved to Chesapeake from the north. To sum it up, Dream Decks/Vision pools and Concrete installed a very nice patio for us, but in doing so, they left a mess behind that they have yet to clean up. They took our old patio debris, including large chunks of concrete, and dumped them in a wooded area behind our neighbors home. I stopped the job but Ryan claimed there was another truck that would come back to cleanup that area, so the work continued. Almost 2 months after the job is completed, despite texts and promises, that mess is still there. We will have to pay to clean up that space. I take responsibility. I should never have paid him until that area was cleaned up. Congratulations Ryan, you taught this old guy to remember the lessons I've learned over my lifetime...don't trust people. Although the patio is nice, we would have preferred to do business with someone who respects their customers property. No matter what he says, Ryan Smith has proven to us that he and his company do not.

ZERO stars. Ryan is the most dishonest, contemptible contractor I've ever used. He's a compulsive liar, I believe a thief, and a fraud who'll not honor either his word or the contract. I have everything documented with dates/times. Even his workers have no respect for him. He proved he doesn't care at all about whether the job is done properly or if the customer is satisfied. For more than two months now, I've made a claim for warranty repairs. They installed a plainly visible chipped Trex board. Multiple railings are not straight/level (and Ryan didn't have a clue what he was doing about how to fix it after he finally came out to look after my repeated badgering). The joinery work on the fascia is absolutely amateurish and a plainly visible eyesore. And despite telling me they'd be plugged, the picture frame screws were left visible. It looks stupid. A day or two after the job was finished, Ryan picked up his trailer and excess materials, the cost of which he told me would be refunded. He didn't bother to ask my wife if I was home or in any way communicate with me to ask me if I was satisfied with the job. It was 6+ weeks (July 6th) before Ryan finally returned (supposedly) the excess materials to his buddy Chad at 84 Lumber. That was July 6th. I've STILL not been refunded the substantial cost despite Ryan texting me back on 28 July that he was "looking into that now" and that he "thought Chad had handled it." He further stated that he had "just asked Jay if he can do it (warranty repairs) Saturday." This morning, 29 July I texted Ryan at 11:26 AM asking if his worker was coming and "when - specifically - will the money be credited back to my card?" Ryan texted me back that "that's a question for Chad I just brought it back there." He further stated that "Jay said he's coming this afternoon." When I responded to him to "get on the phone to your buddy and fix it today" and "what time frame this afternoon?" he didn't respond. Unsurprisingly, his worker didn't show.

Unreliable company. Took 9 months to complete my deck. After removing old decking, refused to cover the footings with a tarp when it became evident the job was not going to be completed in a timely manner. So the perfectly sanded, weed free ground next to my house became a pool and weed garden. Chesapeake building inspector even asked how things were going because they noticed how long the deck was unfinished. Please check *** before any contractor starts work.

If I could give a half star, I would. The absolute worse company to work with. Took them over a year to do a 2 mth job. Had a porch built, destroyed our front yard, left huge mounds of dirt in our front yard. Never returned to build our porch steps and never returned to repair their screw-ups or warranty work. To this day we have a 36" X 4" hole in our inside wall where he ran electrical wiring for the porch lights! ****** workmanship, left debris in our yard for months (shingles, nails, etc). He claimed he was a ********* guy, but I can tell you, he's far from it. Go into the *** site and read his writeups. He's also not a *** member. We are senior citizens and do not have excess funds to repair his company's incompetence.

Dream Decks built a deck for us, which was screened in and a roof added. Construction was slow due to delays, about half which were avoidable. Contruction began on 02 or 03 July and completed on 12 October. Demolition of our old deck was required, along with digging new footers. First, it should not take 3 months for a project like this. Second, the first hard rain we received showed us a roof leak which we were promised would be fixed. Third, some of the trex planking was improperly anchored, presenting a trip hazard. Fourth, part of the ceiling came loose and was hanging exposing the new roof trusses. We were promised repairs ASAP. That was May 2021, a year ago. We're still waiting. In the meantime, text messages, phone calls and emails go unanswered. There's a reason they're not *** *********** Ryan is obviously too busy selling to stand behind his work.

Dream Decks acquired this job at the beginning of June 2020. We submitted for the permit and ordered material the first week of June . We obtained the permit by the end of June. We started working on the project the next week which would have been July. Construction can take several months as there is a step by step process to doing projects of this size. First it took a month to get the permit which is completely normal as permit processing can take 6-10 weeks. Then with all that we had to do on this project, Demolition of existing deck, construct a new deck. construct a roof over a portion of the deck. add electrical outlets, and ceiling fans. then screen in the covered porch and put the finishing touches on it. This was a large project and completed in October in a timely manner with all that had to be done. We also have to take into consideration any delay out of our control due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Once we were notified of the roof leak we sent out an employee to take a look at it and fix it. He also addressed anything else that was needed at the time. We warranty our work for 12 months. We are now over 2 years, and these complaints are now just arising, and not brought to our attention.
