I very rarely feel the need to write negative reviews, but our experience with AutoNation Volkswagen Carlsbad and Volkswagen Group of America could not have been more disappointing and frustrating. Two years ago my partner and I leased a Volkswagen ID 4. Over time we noticed several concerning issues with the vehicle including the passenger door malfunctioning, and issues with the screen and break sensors. We brought these issues up at the first scheduled maintenance and were told that they didn't see anything wrong with the vehicle. We continued to raise these issues but were rebuffed. Fast forward, we have received SEVERAL recall notices, including the door malfunction and screen issues (at some point Volkswagen even paused manufacturing on ID 4 due to the recalls). It got to the point where we did not feel safe driving the car. We kept calling and asking to speak with someone at AutoNation but no one returned our call. Finally, we asked for a manger's email address and emailed him to request to terminate the lease due to all the safety concerns as well as the horrible customer service and lack of follow up. We did not receive a response to the email. We then went in person to AutoNation Volkswagen Carlsbad and had to walk into the managers office. The manager said we needed to contact Volkswagen Group of America. After three failed numbers and hours on hold we finally put in a repurchase/replacement request with Volkswagen Group of America. We spoke with several people, supplied maintenance records and prior complaints. We received an email that the request was denied with no opportunity to challenge the decision or even have a follow up call for an explanation. We ended up returning the vehicle and paying out the rest of the lease just to be done with this car and with Volkswagen. I would avoid AutoNation Volkswagen Carlsbad and Volkswagen altogether if you are looking for any quality in your vehicle or a decent customer service experience.

I have on numerous occasions had to take cars in for warranty or recall reasons. The company refuses to release parts for these actions until the car is in hand at a dealership. This makes it so that the customer is without a car for an extra amount of time while waiting for a part that could have been ordered and delivered prior to car drop off. The Volkswagen customer care team said that was their policy and that's that. I have not had my car for over 3 weeks and the maintenance was for diesel gate... they should have known all the parts and tools prior to drop off and should have ordered them when the appointment was made. But, Volkswagen of America does not allow the parts to be released until the car is at the shop!!! The maintenance descriptions apparently do not tell you what parts/tools you need up front either. (Like a recipe) So, they have been slowly ordering parts and tools over the last 3+ weeks!! This has been an awful experience.

I would give zero stars if i could! ******************** and business . I have a 22 tiguan , was in the service shop for 6 months multiple issues regarding the fuel pump , fuel tank , cluster & smaller issues . Car was leaking gas and stinking out the inside with my kid in the car , they cracked my windshield while in the shop ( dont want to pay for it ) but will make me pay when the lease is up. Reached out to corporate and spoke with managers at the dealer , everyone wants to help but end up giving me s*** and wanting me to sign saying i wouldn't try to sue them if the problems reoccur. They dont even want to write a documented letter stating they will take responsibility if something happens since multiple times i was stuck on the road with my baby. First time buying from them and never again. They take no accountability. Morning forward we should stick with cars made in our actual country .

Besides not fixing programs during the warranty, the lease program is run by crooks. They do not follow the rules in the booklet they send at the end of the lease and charge extra.

Purchased a brand new 2024 ***** and they have a faulty infotainment system.... it's been going on for months and progressively getting worse. The screen get static lines across it where you can read anything and some times goes completly black and you lose all your features and sensor because everything is controlled on that screen. We've been to the dealership and there is no fix for it. Call vw for a buy back and they won't do a buy back until I have had 3 repairs done. I said ok but then turns out they aren't approving any parts to attempt repairs on the infotainment system because they don't have a fix. By doing that they trap their customers in being stuck witha broken vehicle and you can do anything. Spent way to much money on this vehicle to have it broken. So frustrated.

My husband and I were big ** fans for years. I currently drive a 2022 Tiguanmy 2nd. Previously I had a 2019 Tiguan. They are both leases. My 2022 vehicle required the monitor on the console (menu, radio, backup camera, etc) to be replaced within a few months of driving this new vehicle, so at this juncture the screen is currently the 2nd one needed in less than 3 years. It has never worked correctly from day 1. A person at the service department had to show me how to reset it in order to get it to work on occasion. Finally, a few weeks ago, it just went completely black and dead. No backup camera, no device charging, no radio, no menu, no changing the clocknothing but blackness. The dealership wants to charge me almost $2,000 because its out of warranty due to my mileage. This is a ** issue and has been from the beginning. ** should stand by its product. A vehicle that is less than 3 years old should FUNCTION. This is absolutely reprehensible that ** would sell such a terrible product. The salesman at the dealership knew my situation from the beginning-they had the records of this vehicles problems and he promised to get me a coupon to defray the cost. I explained that it was about the principle and the fact that the car isnt even 3 years old and this has been a problem from day 1. The company should stand behind their product. I will never go back to **. I am going to ****** to get out of my lease and purchase a vehicle that firstly retains value and secondly, stands behind its product. Vehicles are too expensive these days to spend all that money for a company NOT to stand behind its product and make it right.

The WORST manufacturer there is!!! Stay away, I promise buying/owning their vehicles will be the biggest mistake you will ever make! They do not back their vehicles or warranties. You will be turned away if you bring your vehicle in for the same issue multiple times! We bought a platinum extended warranty and it does NOTHING! I filed with "VW Cares" and they DO NOT CARE, they need to change their name to VW DOESN"T CARE!! I filed with BBB Auto Line and they DO NOT CARE!! Do your research before buying from ANY manufacture!! I sure wish I did because then I would never be in the position to own a $50k vehicle that is a piece of crap!! This is the WORST vehicle I have ever owned, and I have owned many! And now I am stuck unless I pay MASS amounts to get out of it! They back absolutely NOTHING!! STEER CLEAR!! My 2023 Atlas Cross Sport had issues 100 miles in and has been in the shop with NOTHING fixed for the last 2 years! They always say "Oh that's normal" and it isn't! Volkswagen you ABSOLUTELY DISGUST ME! The worst there is by far!!

We purchased the vehicle (ID 4 2021) in August 2021 and had our first 10,000-mile service performed on May 24, 2022.Within the first year and a half of ownership, we experienced the failure and replacement of the first battery cell on April 4, 2023.During subsequent years, we have had to replace four additional battery cells: two in the second year (August 2, 2023, and December 20, 2023) and two in the third year (September 24, 2024).These issues have caused significant frustration, difficulty, and anxiety regarding the vehicles reliability. In September 2024, I experienced a battery range reduction that nearly stranded me on a highway late at night while commuting home from work due to faulty battery cells.Following the fourth battery cell replacement, the dealership test-drove the vehicle before returning it to me. They received a notice indicating that a fifth battery cell required replacement during the same visit. As of November 8, 2024 our vehicle was still being serviced by our authorized service agent when we sent a certified letter to Volkswagen ************** There has been no response to our request. I have filed a BBB Auto Claim as well.Given the frequency and severity of these electrical system issues, we are concerned about the vehicles overall reliability. We rely on our vehicle to safely transport our family, including three children, to and from school, work, and other appointments, and we do not drive with confidence, as your slogan states in a Volkswagen ********** addition to the battery cell replacements, we have encountered numerous other minor faulty product issues, such as door latches, handles, panels coming off twice, and the driver-side armrest being replaced. These issues, while concerning, pale in comparison to the vehicles electrical system problems. I also called customer care to confirm address for our letter and waited for 40 minutes before I finally hung up with no answer!

Despite my ** app indicating that my car was in 'good health,' my check engine light unexpectedly came on. After taking the 2022 ****** back to **********, NJ **, I was informed that I needed an oil separator. Both the service and parts departments informed me that this part was on backorder and a likely time for delivery was 3-6 months, in addition, I was told that Volkswagen has parts backorders affecting over ***** customers nationwide. This situation has rendered my vehicle unusable, because driving it would put me at risk for significant damage. I was told no loaner vehicle were available and that there was a lengthy waitlist for a loaner. After several calls and visits to Burlington VW, I attempted to resolve this issue through ** corporate offices and called their ***************** which proved to be as equally frustrating. Despite multiple calls with representatives and even a supervisor, my requests for further escalation were denied, while being told that the dealership themselves are given the authority to handle customer issues locally, leaving me with no option but to deal with the dealership directly.I engaged with the *************** Managers with no relsolve. Left with very limited options, I thought that the dealership would be able to offer me a reasonable solution if I chose to purchase a new Tiquan. I explored the possibility of trading in my 2022 Tiguan for a 2024 model. I was offered a reduced trade-in value due to the unresolved repair, in addition I was only offered the standard discount on a new purchase. Requests to discuss this matter with higher management have gone ************* confidence in **'s commitment to customer satisfaction has been shaken, and I am now reconsidering my future loyalty to the brand

Complaint Summary: ******************** Consumption in 2021 Volkswagen Passat, High Repair Costs, and Lack of Recall Assistance In June 2024, I purchased a 2021 Volkswagen Passat with ****** miles from Enterprise Car Sales. Within a few months, I encountered a severe and persistent issue with excessive engine oil consumption, with the oil levels dropping significantly after only short driving ************ confirm the problem, I brought the vehicle to ****** Westside Volkswagen for an oil consumption test. This test confirmed the issue and cost me $600. I was informed that diagnosing and potentially repairing this problem could cost approximately $1,700, with full repairs potentially ranging between $7,000 and $15,000, depending on the extent of the damage.I reached out to Volkswagen to inquire if any recalls covered this problem, but I was told that no oil consumption recalls apply to my vehicle. I believe Volkswagen should take responsibility for these issues, as such severe oil consumption is abnormal and potentially indicative of a design flaw or defect.Desired Outcome: I am seeking assistance from Volkswagen to cover the repair costs or provide a fair resolution. Excessive oil consumption at this mileage is not expected, and addressing this issue would reflect the brand's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. For prospective buyers, I urge caution when considering Volkswagen vehicles, given my experience with this unresolved issue.
