Not a good Credit Union. I had an account here and they blocked Zelle for no reason. I sent money to my father, that was all it took for them to block the feature (only $300). No only that, they are very controlling with your money. With purchases limits. I do not recommend this CU, Navy Federal and BECU are better credit unions, they also allow you to send 2k+ via Zelle per day. Only good thing about PenFed, is that you get paid to days early, but nowadays, even banks like ******* offers that and they offer a enhanced MasterCard where you can spend more with your debit card in comparison to PenFed. I dont see the ** as members owned, I rather do business with a local bank.PenFed Credit Union

It is impossible to get anyone on the phone. PenFed harassed me for weeks over a fraudulent charge. I would stay away from this company!Review fromTj B.

Run, they have ZERO customer support, I've been with them for 3 years and never have I missed or been late and they refuse to up my credit line by $55.00. They refused to provide customer service. They refused to lift the hold that they place on ur card before 1 week is up, EVEN THOUGH THEY RECEIVED PMT IN FULL A WEEK PRIOR. They are making money off of people's money. They take zero risk, and what business besides them take zero risk.. none. All business take risk. But they treat there customers like dirt. I'm in the process of leaving this pile of p*** as soon and as fast as I can.Let this be a beware for you. DONT DO IT. there is some cc company out there that still cares. It's not penfed.... and it's not ************ These 2 are the worst of the worst. I ran a business 30 years and never could I nor would I treat a customer as these two. I have never in my life delt with such substandard, bad service, bad employees, as if u care zero about your customers at all. The truth is , I have since applied for a card and was approved for 10 times the limit that u kept me down and low with. I was approved with the bank with flying colors. It needs to be known that good citizens do not need a credit union as you. Your so tight, non-flexible, no customer oriented I don't know of any one that would even keep an account open with you. I will soon be closing my account down, ripping up my plastic card that has a minor aged child limit on it. I hope and pray no one falls into the trap that you this credit union does to people. I'm so happy to be leaving this no good for nothing so called business. I think the feds needs to come in and look at how poorly you run your operation. Penfed has been a thorn in my heart since day 1 of being introduced to yaw. I do not recommend penfed ZERO to any1.Review fromTom R

Went to cash a check from another penfed member a family member. Ms. ********* the asst. **** Refused to oblige based on profiling. Had presented proper government identification including verification from the source of the person since they said they could not. She also further refused assistance as to my account. Explained to corporate office and no apology nor action towards such lack of customer service and professionalism. Never a problem with my other credit union or banks. Lucky getting even one ??!!PenFed Credit Union

!!!!Completely ruined my credit and my partner's credit!!!!! We had a car loan with them on a 4Runner. When we got a new car and traded the 4Runner in, they didn't pay off the loan correctly! Very simple task for a lender to do. No! They created a duplicate loan and used the money from the dealership to pay one of them off. Of course, that loan went unpaid for months without us knowing. After a "late payment" alert through my credit bureau, I realized the huge mistake they had made. It's now been over 7 months with no solution. All I hear from them is a different answer on how to fix it that never works or that it's OUR fault!!! All from a different person each time. Cannot get a hold of the same person twice for some reason. Completely uncoordinated, unprofessional and downright sorry! DO NOT CHOOSE THEM!!!!!PenFed Credit Union

We filed a formal complain through consumer financial protection bureau below. *********************************************** you can have a ***************** check into and also have them post to the public what transpired. Bottom Line Up front- PENFED cashed a stop payment check and forced it to go through. They received the amount into my account and when asked to return it, they claimed I was a predator for money. Once they realized we won't be bullied, they sent a hold harmless addendum so we won't sue them. I've been a PENFED member since 2006 and this is how they treated me!They claimed I was doing something nefarious and currently trying to slander me. Provided the proof and they still won't return the money! DO NOT BANK HERE.******* in Fraud, **** and ***** in fraud and banking were also responsible. It took another bank and their VP to intervene and currently they still won't release the money.PenFed Credit Union

As a former veteran, I believe Pen Fed is the worst credit union, and I will be advising all my family and friends to avoid it. I went to make my auto loan payment on the Pen Fed banking app, only to find that my loan had disappeared. When I called Pen Fed to ask why my auto loan was missing, they informed me that it was because I had been late on payments. I thought this issue had been resolved when I contacted them during a difficult transition period after leaving the military, as I was told I was on a hardship program that allowed me to defer payments. However, they claimed there was no written agreement on file, so it didn't matter. I was then told that my auto loan had been charged off and that a tow truck was dispatched to repossess my vehicle. I never received any written notice regarding this situation, nor did I receive an email indicating that my car was up for repossession and my loan had been charged off. When I asked if there was anything I could do to rectify this issue, the representative rudely told me it was my fault for being late on payments. She stated that my only options were to surrender the vehicle for it to be sold at auction or refinance it, which is impossible with a charge-off on my credit report. I requested a letter stating that my auto loan was charged off and detailing what I owed. The representative on the phone was unhelpful and insisted she could not send any documentation. Eventually, I received an email from her, but it lacked information about my payoff amount or any relevant details. I had to call Pen Fed again, specifically asking not to speak with the same representative, to obtain a document outlining my full payoff amount. The lack of communication from Pen Fed is astonishing, and I just wanted to reach out to someone who could assist me with my situation.PenFed Credit Union

Penfed is by far one of the worst credit unions I’ve ever seen. I had a credit card go into collections followed by a charge off. The debt was sent to a third party and eventually I settled the debt. I was told that the bad debt would be removed from my credit report, and after 2 years, it’s still there! No one could help me because the debt was sold, but on my credit report it clearly states penfed.PenFed Credit Union

This is the worst credit card company in the United States......they make excuses over and over......they have refused to cancel my autopay for 90 days .......they make all these different excuses ....just cause I changed my phone number and address ..........every month I get no emails or notifications about the money they are removing from my account..........they basically tell me to go **** MYSELF......I have no control over what goes on in my account.....I can't cancel or set up my own autopay account now............3 months straight they have removed money from my account without my permission or authorization.......NOW I'M TAKING LEGAL ACTION................they have gave me the worst experience credit wise I have experienced.......and the customer service get on calls FLAT OUT LYING..............what kind of GHETTO MESS is this................STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY..........
