I have been a subscriber to the Akron Beacon Journal for over 40 years. Over the past year, at least once a week (and sometimes more than once a week) my carrier fails to deliver my paper. Each time, I register a complaint with their "automated customer service line" and each time the recorded voice tells me that my account has been credited. I have yet to see a credit, so today I talked in person with a "customer service representative", a very nice lady working out of a call center in India or in the Phillipines. I talked with a different representative a week ago, and then I requested that a representative from the Beacon Journal circulation department - FROM OHIO - contact me, because my many calls to the "automated service line" had produced NO CHANGE N THE SHODDY DELIVERY SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCESD FOR MAMY MANY MONTHS. I got no call last week, so I told the rep that if I did not receive a call by 9 AM tomorrow (Fri., May 27) I was going to cancel my subscription and demand a full refund of the amount I have paid to the Beacon Journal for my current 13 week subscription. I said "full refund" because I have seen no evidence that I received credit for all of the missed deliveries. I am extremely angry that the Beacon Journal has totally ignored my complaints and has taken no perceptible corrective action.

We tried to get a subscription we first moved into the area and had issues with their awful system. Our subscription will never work and they kept charging us until we finally called several times to figure out how to cancel. Glad though, this is such liberally biased newspaper that I don't care to read their propaganda. Awful reporters.

Wish I could do zero stars or -100 stars. Absolutely the WORST. Outsourced customer service to Colombia, they don't understand my words. Carrier here in OKC has stopped delivery for over a month. I keep asking for a refund and to cancel and they tell me they can give me a credit for future delivery, I'm like, how does that make sense? My carrier won't deliver!!! I have called corporate, left a VM for various departments and for the CEO Mike Reed, no response. I emailed Customer Service, no answer. I chatted online with CS and was told I would get a refund but she wouldn't tell me how much or when it would arrive! So I doubt that is coming. OMG AWFUL company!

Terrible to do business with. I canceled my subscription to The Herald-Mail Newspaper in January. Every month they still charge my credit card for $7.99, and I have to file a dispute. I have written them numerous times and get a generic response, but never any action taken to solve the problem. Not worth the hassle! Required to give a star rating, but wouldn't even give them one star otherwise.

fails to credit account as indicated. I had filed a complaint regarding the failure to deliver the paper and their response on 4/18 included: "You have received credit for all missed or late deliveries." On 4/18 I was actually charged for the FULL amount. NO CREDIT was provided.
