It was an absolute pleasure working with the DVAC team, specifically Richard Taylor. The process of obtaining the appraisal report was prompt and professional, and Richard answered all the questions and concerns that we had when initiating the process. The at-fault driver's insurance company, ***** ****, was not willing to settle. Based on reading some of the reviews, it seems like we were not the only ones having the same issue. It was suggested that we take the at-fault party to court, which was our very first time going to court, and we were very intimidated. The ***** **** insurance attorney used ALL, and I really mean ALL, their tricks to intimidate us, and the court battle took over 6 months, but it was WORTH it. Just when I had my doubts and the insurance attorney was firing all the questions fast, Richard, with his confidence and his expertise, did not hesitate for a moment with his answers and did a phenomenal job in proving the calculation of the diminished value, which was over *** due to a severe accident. The judge even stated that, without a doubt, the expert opinion was excellent. If anyone is looking for a diminished value expert, I highly recommend the DVAC team.

I used DVAC as my objective third party appraiser on a total loss. They exceeded my expectations on every step of the process. Their honesty and prompt responses stand out. They were able to get our insurance to agree on a fair settlement amount which would actually cover replacing our car. This saved us great stress and financial burden. I had tried my best to do my own research on my 4Runner’s value and present it to my insurance company but was unable to increase the amount they were offering me. Feeling defeated I contacted Richard at DVAC for his expert opinion. He responded very quickly to my email and gave me the peace of mind that the offer I was given was going to be the best I would get. DVAC was so helpful in my case! I had been rear-ended in my 2023 vehicle. I didn't know much about diminished value, or the process to follow, but Richard was informative and helped every step of the way! He kept in touch and did everything to make sure I got the money I was owed. I unfortunately had to file a lawsuit against the at fault driver, and Richard still helped every step of the way through the legal process, and was beyond eager to testify as an expert witness in court to help me get the money I was owed! Luckily, the insurance company then agreed to pay out my full diminished value and all costs before the hearing. It was a pain fighting with insurance, but the guidance, professionalism, and encouragement from Richard made it so incredibly easy. I bought a new pickup truck in August 2022, and three months later, at just over 3,000 miles, it was rear-ended. The repair bill was in the $****K range. Although the repairs were excellent and paid by insurance, I knew the accident reduced the vehicle’s trade-in value. An insurance adjuster advised me to ****** “diminished value in North Carolina.” I did and found out about NC’s diminished value law and got a list of appraisers for getting an estimate. I checked with the Better Business Bureau’s website, and Diminished Value Appraisal Claims (DVAC) is BBB accredited with an A+ rating. I contacted DVAC and heard back within a few hours. I submitted the various documents and photos needed by DVAC, and within 3 days, I received (on a Sunday afternoon, no less) the detailed appraisal report. I submitted the report to the at-fault insurance company, and they had their own appraiser review it. Ten days after I had sent it to the insurance company, DVAC sent me a one-page memo signed by the two appraisers with a negotiated settlement of more than 95% of DVAC’s original. I sent that memo to the at-fault insurance company, and after a bit of runaround from that insurance company and my own (not DVAC’s fault), the at-fault company paid the diminished value claim of almost 2/3 the cost of the repair bill and 10 times the cost of DVAC’s report. It took less than 3 weeks to go from my initial contact with DVAC to having the settlement payment in my bank account. All in all, a very worthwhile investment. DVAC was great to work with: fast, professional, clear on the procedure and what to expect, and above all, effective. I definitely hope never to need DVAC again, but if I do, I will not hesitate to contact them. Everyone I spoke with was extremely friendly, and Mr. Richard Taylor was incredibly efficient and professional. I sent him the several items required to get a diminished valuation, and in less than a day's time I had my number to go back to the insurance company with.
