On 2 June 2023 we took our daughters Series 5 ***** Watch in for a broken screen repair. We talked to the gentleman, at length, about the quality of their repairs as we were apprehensive in having the repairs done (a new ***** Watch was only $20 more then the cost of their repair work). We were assured that they use new, or equivalent parts, in terms of reliability and performance in their repairs. The repairs were made, and we paid $164.30 plus $24.65 for a tip, for a total of $188.95. We took the watch home, where it stayed in a box until June 24th when it was given to our daughter. In less then half a day of wearing the watch, at home, the watch became inoperable. On June 27th I took the watch back to the store, with the receipt to see what could be done. The gentleman took the watch and said that he would be in touch. I was notified later that day that water had gotten into the watch and that it was no longer operable. On July 2nd we went back to the store to pick up the watch and see about a refund due to the poor quality of their repair work. At this point, the gentlman, politely pointed out on the receipt that we are not responsible for water damage once the product leaves the store. We did speak to the owner of the store, over the managers cell phone, and the owner was unwilling to stand behind the quality of the stores repair. He was unwilling to issue a partial or full refund. So not only are we out the cost of the repairs and tip. We are now out the cost of the watch itself, as well, since the motherboard was shorted. At NO point, BEFORE they took our watch to make the repairs did we sign a document, OR WERE TOLD, that the repaired products would NO LONGER be water resist (as ***** Series 5 watches are - see picture of website)Per ****** website on Series 5 watches ***** Watch Series 2 and later can be used for shallow water activities like swimming in a pool. Our daughters watch couldn't withstand simple hand washing.
