Yesterday may 22,2023 at approximately 1430 EST I developed a coolant leak on i495 north bound just before the 270 split. I found the number for road runner wrecker and requested roadservice. Just before 1700 the Mechanic showed up to assess the coolant leak. After a about 15 min he left for ********* in manassas which is approximately a 40 mile one way trip. The mechanic did not return for a period of 4 hrs.he decided to leave me stranded on the side of the Interstate while he did another road call. By the time she showed back up I had been siting on the shoulder going on 7 hrs at that point. When he finally got the coolant leak fixed I got a notification from my credit card for the balance of approximately 1500. This amount is beyond excessive. Last year I had a similar coolant leak also on the shoulder of the road and the cost was closer to 500. This is highway robbery. The dispatch at road runner told me I was afterhours which isn't true. I called them before afterhours even started. It is very unprofessional to go to another road Call and leave the previous person sitting an additional 4 hrs waiting for them to return. Also the mechanic just left without giving me any paperwork for all these charges. I had to call and get it myself.

I am filing a complaint for predatory towing practices in my neighborhood (**** **** * in Loudoun County). Road Runners has been making unsolicited, late night patrols on the first of each month to target vehicles in my neighborhood to tow and extort us.I re-registered my car with the DMV on February 1st. I left town for a planned vacation on Feb 9 (stickers did not arrive before the 9th) and placed my mail on hold until my return on the 28th. With my mail on hold, I had to wait until March 1 to retrieve my mail from the post office and add my registration stickers (attached photo proof on March 1)On March 1 at 2:08am (according to the Road Runner service operator), a driver patrolled and towed my car for dead tags- my car stickers at the time were February 2023. According to Virginia law, even police officers could not tow or stop a vehicle for expired tags within 4 months, but the hyper aggressive and unethical Road Runners decided to take my vehicle only 2 hours after February 2023 without prior warning or even a notice. I woke up at 5am to pick up my mother from the airport and found my car was missing. After reporting to the police I was directed to Road Runners, who despite me presenting overwhelming evidence that my car in fact has valid registration from the DMV (and only missing stickers because my mail was on hold), Road Runners refused to release my car without paying their towing charge ($150 for towing, $30 for after hour, $7.20 for credit card fee). I had to go to work so had to pay under duress to be able to retrieve my car. I am filing this complaint, and will also file a complaint to the Attorney General for Virginia for predatory and excessively aggressive towing practices targeting legal residents and properly parked cars in my neighborhood. I also question the legality of charging a $7.20 credit card fee in order to encourage paying $180 in cash. I am seeking a full refund of $187.20 and for Road Runners to stop harassing residents
