On July 15, ***************************' PC was siezed by this company, exactly replicating the fact pattern shown in previous complaints. I ,was asked to help, and engaged the Micro Strat. people, who seemed legit. She paid up and they "did their thing,' A week later, her credit card was flagged and the **** of America said she was hacked. I called my IT guy at my firm and described what happened. We looked on the BBB site, and concluded that this was not a "fix" to the problem, it WAS the problem. I was advised to have her laptop "wiped," and we did at the Geek Squad at Best Buy. $262.00 later, she was good to go. I reached out to MicroStrat and demanded a refund. A "*********************" at ************ said he would facilitate a refund IF and only if I "accessed their mainframe with the *** "gbhelp.cc" No way I was going to open us up to a further scam. I wanted a check cut for the $299.00 they took off her credit card ,which had to be de-activated and re-issued. **** America customer service was not helpful. All I want is a check to HER paid for this amount. Please help her/us. Thank You.

On 1/14/23, my PC "locked up" and would not let me proceed with anything. The screen claimed my computer had become infected and I needed to call the phone number provided. I called the number, expecting to be connected to Microsoft (or their authorized representative) who would correct the problem. I allowed them to go into my machine and they showed me a variety of files that they indicated were the result of malicious hacking. They stated that they would remove the lock, delete any malicious files, and install various utilities (i.e. ad blockers, etc) to improve the performance of my system. They explained their tiered pricing schedule and I opted for lifetime coverage at $399.99. This amount was paid by me via PayPal and AMEX. I received an invoice that included my customer profile and a payment summary, BUT I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY KIND OF DOCUMENTATION REGARDING THE SERVICES THAT WERE PROVIDED. This paperwork was the first indication that I was dealing with someone other than Microsoft, namely Micro Digital Solutions. This was concerning to me so I checked the company out on the internet and the Microsoft Forum informed me that the company is NOT affiliated with Microsoft. Here is the link: *****************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************. It also shows they have been operating this way in the past. It is likely that the initial screen block was generated by Micro Digital Solutions to cause the user to purchase their service under duress. Instead of their service providing me with assurances that my system is trouble free, I am now concerned that they have hacked me. I have taken my machine to a local computer consultant to insure that they have not. I will have to pay for him in addition to the $399.99 I paid to Micro Digital. I sent an email to their support asking them to address these concerns, but I have NOT received a response.
