  Complete garbage. Incredibly expensive. Results are impossible to read. Will tell you what you already know anyway, once you decipher everything. Its very apparent the test is a marketing tool to get you to later pay for their subscription model. Wish I could speak to the owner and give him/her a piece of my mind. The product is absolute trash.

  Impossible to cancel online once you have signed up.The process to cancel is many steps and then you end up at the beginning.I tried chat, email, and phone to no avail.I will be reporting them to the ************************************** to **********, I will start Small Claims case against them if they continue to bill me.If you can sign up online, you should be able to cancel online.

For annual plans (that include a test kit with your order), there is a 4-month order commitment.   I am a registered dental hygienist, medical hygienist, and conducting research for doctorate in healthcare administration and looked forward to working with Viome to compare product, customer service and Quality of lab results to aid in diagnostics and compare to other companies. I had an extremely poor experience with the company, and I would never recommend their testing or products. They have terrible customer service, their clinical team does not respond to questions and the test results were not beneficial. It was a complete waste of time and money..

  I really like the precision of the supplements. I can honestly say that after taking the test and then getting the supplements that are specifically made for me it has made a big difference in my energy and my overall health. I am going to try their probiotics next!

  I was really excited to dig into Viome. As a functioning adult, I knew the end goal of the company was to encourage purchasing their supplements, but I did not realize how much of it would come into play. The price of the test made me think there would be some really fantastic data available once my results were finalized; however, this was far from the case. Sure, they provided a long list of foods that were good vs bad for my gut, but it was incredibly unbalanced. Out of 250+ foods, just a handful of no-nos - and the kicker? Most of them the no foods ended up in that category because I selected in my survey that I felt sensitive to them. Are you kidding me? So, no actual lab data showed that these foods were bad for my gut microbiome. Just my survey response. For example, the Viome survey asks if you feel sensitive to dairy. I said yes. The last few years I have felt off when I eat pizza or ice cream. Do I know whats going on? Absolutely not. Is part of the reason why I ordered the Viome test was to check if dairy had an effect on my gut? Yes. Yes, it was. But apparently, and this is according to a Viome representative who hosted a webinar on the product, if you elect an answer in the survey that states you feel a possible sensitivity to a food, the ** generated lab will NOT provide information about how those foods interact with your gut microbiome. This woman actually followed up her comment stating that if you want all of your foods checked in the lab, you should leave any sensitivities OUT of the survey. WHAT? Viome 100% lost my vote after that shareout. I learned absolutely nothing I didnt already know from this test - that my gut is inflamed (anyone who questions if they have inflammation, has inflammation.) So, cool. I learned nothing new, I have a general idea of foods that are good for me (almost all foods - wild). And a long list of pre and probiotics I need to add to my monthly subscription catalogue.I do not recommend.

  Got my results back a few days ago and here are my impressions. On the overall i was evaluated as having average gut health with 9 scoring items in needs of attention. Viome provided lists of food to avoid, minimize, enjoy or are super. It also offered supplements and probiotics to buy through subscription. The following are the deficiencies: the list of bacterial species detected in your sample could be downloaded for examination. Nevertheless, alpha and beta diversity (the diversity in the number of species and relative amounts of each compared to a healthy gut) was not shown graphically, numerically or explained in words. In explaining the scores the responsible bacterial species were never mentioned. A deeper scientific explanation or analysis of the results are needed so customers could validate them personally or with help from healthcare providers. In the absence of better explanations i personally feel lukewarm about Viome recommendations. I may proceed with corrective actions about diet, buy some prebiotics which are cheaper on ******, then in a year or two try my luck with a better direct-to-consumer company. In short, Viome did not meet my expectations of an above average microbiome company.

  Viome does not show percentages for microbes, and focuses on active cellular and microbial functions and pathway activities. This tells us what your active microbes are doing; activity is summarized in the Scores you see in your results section.

  Very few of your gut microbes are categorically "good" or "bad". When Viome synthesizes information from the ******** in each sample, we identify the organisms that are active and which metabolic pathways in which they are involved. There is no one-to-one correlation between one specific microbe and any given dietary recommendation. Multiple microbes, multiple genes expressed, and multiple pathways are needed to carry out multiple functions. How your microbes work together as a group determines your recommendations.
  
  All of the micro-organisms in your gut depend on one another, and they will thrive when they are present in the right balance. Viome's testing looks beyond just the presence of certain bacteriawe also detect what each organism is doing. Many microbes can perform the same function, and each microbe can perform multiple functions. Analyzing the microbial community as a whole is necessary because the activity of one organism often impacts the function of another. For this reason, the goal with your test recommendations is to ensure that the organisms in your gut microbiome are performing the correct functions for your body.

  Thank you for your response. What you are saying is true. Considering metabolic pathway certainly adds a dimension to the analysis in addition to basic data about alpha beta diversity compared to healthy individuals within the same region sharing similar food culture and lifestyle. However, you did not address the fact that you are not sharing any data in any forms to back up your conclusions and recommendations. It is not acceptable for customers who have some basic understanding of biology, and to those who want to use the data for consultation for a second opinion from appropriate healthcare providers like primary care doctors, genetic counselors etc. In that respect, we are not getting our money's worth.

  The Oral Health Test is a scam. The results just say average, average, average, not optimal, etc. The results don't make sense, are only through their App, not helpful in anyway. Anyone could make this up. They just try to push their supplements after telling you should eat these common sense superfoods (no duh). Useless waste of money. Basically a fraudulent service.

  Viome establishes a recommended food list based more on answers to a health questionnaire rather than on the actual gut microbiome.Viome does not give a list of the bacteria, good or bad, found in the sample, nor their relative amounts, high or low.

  Viome's food recommendations consider all inputs our customer provides, including samples from their stool, blood, and saliva, as well as information the customer provides in our health questionnaire. Results from our metatranscriptomic analysis of a customer's stool, blood, and saliva are the main drivers and are given the highest priority when determining recommendations. However, information from the questionnaire is essential in tailoring recommendations and ensuring that we provide safe recommendations. For example, if a customer reports in their health questionnaire that they are allergic to peanuts, our system automatically recommends avoiding peanuts since Viome does not test for allergies/sensitivities.

  Your Viome results provide a list of all active microbes that we detect in your sample. This list includes bacteria, archaea, eukaryotes, probiotics, and viruses and can be found under "Your Active Gut Microbes".  We do not provide a relative abundance of these microbes as our test assesses the activities of microbes, which provides more useful information as to the impact your microbes are having on your health.

  Please note we ordered Viome, test results were received. Now we are trying to order the Viome supplements and they encourage us to purchase 3 months worth to ensure optimum health. Unfortunately, Viome insists that we have to purchase each month separately, and in separate packages. They do not care about the planet at all. We wanted to order our full 3 months now, in one package. After spending 45 minutes on the phone, they are not interested in doing this for us. There is no critical thinking here! Very disappointed that they do not care about the planet.
