Performed an engine rebuild and supplied an invoice that did not outline any costs, parts or labor. Blamed all ********** on outside equipment, despite the machine having new injectors, o2 sensors, maf, throttle body, coilpacks and egr. The engine came back to me and broke a valve spring within 2500 poorly running miles while i replaced all parts listed above as he kept blaming issue on different parts. Costing me thousands more.

As per invoice there was no warranty stated express or implied. Any items that are warranty is as per manufacture warranty, Customer brought in 2 blown engines from previouse install and had on rebuilt price was agreed upon before rebuild was performed. Customer had ran engine according to him for 2500 miles and a cylinder went dead and was running with a significant miss, customer removed engine and brought in for repair, upon visual inspection found the warranty heat tab melted on R/S cylinder head also found oil very black and burnt all tellings of running hot and not changed during break in. A broken intake valve spring was found on cylinder #4  at that time customer was called and informed of the finding customer had choice of removing cylinder head and was declined and advised to just replace valve spring as witnesed by other customer as he was on speaker phone. Valve spring was ordered and replaced and a cylinder leak down was performed to see if valve was sealing. Customer received repaired engine installed then called to say he had air coming from all 3 cylinders on that side, then called to say it had a bad gasket, then called to say it has a hair line crack in cylinder head, then called for a refund and did not want to have engine looked at by us. at this point NO WARRANTY will be issued until examined by us at our shop to determine what the issue is customer states he had 3 other shops look at it and now its a cracked block, As per parts, labor or specs it bought a rebuilt engine as a whole the price is for 1 reman engine, And as for all the other engine /fuel managment items he replaced I do not supply those items with rebuilt long block only the bare long block all extras are the customer responsibilty from the looks and sounds of the customer diagnosis there was alot of guess work done and the problem has not been found, bring the motor in for any internal damage for inspection and diagnosis cracked block and cracked heads are only due to overheating period thats why heat tabs are installed for this purpose and if removed any and all warranty is void this is a rebuilders industry standard to this day, Call any machine shop and ask them if the heat tab is melted or removed if the warranty still applies!

I am rejecting this response because:
The invoice does not outline any of the work performed, i do not believe he pressure tested the equipment nor do i believe his work was thorough. His response esentially admits that i hired him to rebuild a motor from 2 that i supplied, of which he ABSOLUTELY  did give a verbal warranty. Which has not been honored as he charged me for the repair he blamed the misfire on, [also he admits the significant misfire, whis was present from day 1) he insisted i remove the engine for his diagnosis, which was unnecessary for the broke valve spring he "repaired/replaced".  **** has cost me thousands of dollars in lost labor and equipment. This business  has numerous complaints regarding fast and shotty workmanship. I believe this is the underlying factor - he simply overlooked a part of the process that would show hairline fractures that eventually become larger cracks. The heat tabs are still on the motor and it has not been overheated, which he also admits, by stating the tabs definitive job to show overheating.
    Sincerely,

Attatched are 2 invoivlces. One from Dunns which is what he gave me for the job. Its vague and he refused to outline parts and processes and costs for this job. Aside from not providing that he refused to honor his "warranty" and insisted i replace the injectors, coil packs and egr. Which i did as well as the throttle body.  The first attatchment is an invoice from the shop that repaired it, and as you see, they reported that he reused parts and did not resurface the heads nor did he perform valve train services. His rebuild of this motor was the issue and he has become verbally abusive and i have before witnessed him get confrontational with other dissatisfied customers in his shop. I do not believe he is certified or qualified to do the work he claimed to do/does daily. His "invoices" are intentionally inconcise.
