I received a letter in the mail from Credit International Corporation on Friday, July 21st. The letter was dated July 17, 2023. I called that afternoon and there was no answer so I called again the following Monday, July 24th and left a message. I didn't receive a call back, so I called again and this time I spoke with a collections advisor. I explained that I did not know I had to make any payments and that I have excellent credit and did not want to tarnish that. My credit rating is above 800. I wanted to make the payment in full as to not have it show up on my credit report or effect my credit rating. I was told that the amount had gone up some $35 because of interest. I explained that on the notice in the mail there was $0.00 interest and I didn't understand why only literally one business day after receiving the notice there was interest already accumulated. The representative literally said, "listen, are you going to pay it or not? It's Monday and I'm very busy. So you can call back another day, if you'd like." I was stunned and understood that if I waited just one more day I would have to pay even a larger interest penalty, which I thought was ridiculous. The letter said you have "30 days after receiving this notice to dispute the validity..." However, not even one business day of receiving the notice did I already accrue interest penalties. Is this even legal? I would like a refund for the supposed interest they charged me.

I have reviewed the complaint filed by ******************. The interest accrual on the account was charged from the date that the debt was incurred (2/25/22) so was properly assessed as part of the balance due. She could have escalated to a Supervisor or asked the representative for further clarification before securing payment for the full balance. Should ****************** wish to discuss this in further detail I welcome her to contact our office.

      Thank you,

      ***************************

I am rejecting this response because: If this were the case that the interest was based on the original date the charge was made, why did the letter specifically state that the amount due was $250 and that there was $0.00 interest? The letter from the collection agency mentions no such additional charges. I was not given the option to speak to a supervisor and was told that this was the NEW amount owed even though I made specific reference to the letter which stated otherwise.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

      Customer response

      07/28/2023

I talked to *************************** from the Credit International Corporation earlier regarding my claim and wanting the supposed interest accrued on my account returned to me. She informed me that they DO NOT return interest paid. I was also told by **************** that I should not have paid the amount if I wanted to dispute it. I told her that I did not want my credit to be affected and she informed me that at no time did she say my credit was going to be affected. She even said that I didn't have to pay the balance at all and that it would no affect my credit. She said that I was not being sent to collections. I am confused as the letter states "This communication is from a debt collector." I believe that this company is illegally scamming customers on behalf of businesses and they purposefully trick you into believing that you must pay whatever amount they deem appropriate to collect payment for their own financial gain on the backs of hardworking individuals. After my call with ****************, I feel completely duped into this scheme. The BBB, should immediately take action against such companies that send out a correspondence in the mail that effectively states that there is an "Interest: $0.00" yet upon calling to make the payment state that we must pay this new amount with interest. The Credit International Corporation takes no accountability for their misguidance and I am deeply sickened by their practices. **************** will say anything to get out of doing the right thing. I was left disappointment and beside myself after this call.

Thank you for forwarding the complaint filed by ****************. I have marked his account as disputed based on the statement made by the complainant. Despite our attempts, **************** has never had any contact with our office so he has never requested we provide him the contract. No identifying information was provided by the complainant to verify the legitimacy of the claim that he is not responsible for this matter. Should he wish to contact our office directly we would be happy to discuss this in greater detail and work towards an amicable resolution for all parties involved.

      Respectfully,

Case Number: ********** I am rejecting this response because: I have no idea who or what this is regarding. I do not accept this debt in any form. I am concerned as well that the debt attempting to be presented is a time barred/statue debt in the ***********. As previously stated, I have sought legal advisement on this matter and have been instructed to treat this as a fraud matter.

I have reviewed the complaint filed by ************** and appreciate the opportunity to respond. ************** has been in contact with our office and has been working with the case manager to resolve the matter. We served a Writ of Garnishment to the Registered Agent for ********* LLC, we then sent the required follow up letter advising that we had not received the necessary response to the garnishment. Due to the continued non-response a Default Judgment Against Garnishee Defendant was entered against the business. The underlying judgment was/is not time barred as suggested in the complaint filed by **************. Credit International acted appropriately in this situation. Should the complainant desire to continue her communication with our office we would be happy to work towards an outcome satisfactory to all parties involved.

      Respectfully Yours,

On 11/7/22, a debt from 2017 that I owed to Holeshot Properties LLC was signed over to Credit International Corporation. I was never notified of this debt, but now it prevents me from renting. I have tried calling and emailing CIC to pay the debt entirely, but I cannot get a reply. Meanwhile, I am living at an airbnb because the apartment I have qualified for will not approve my application until I have paid this debt. CIC's website requires an account # and a zip code in order to sign in and pay a debt. I was never notified of either. I have contacted them repeatedly but no one answers the phone or responds to voice messages, or email messages. I don't argue that I owe money. But at least allow me to pay it! This is going on a week now. Terrible business practice and extremely harmful to my 5 year old son, who has special needs that require routine and security.

I have been getting emails from this company regarding an issue i was having with intuit. Essentially my nature of business (SaaS) does not work with their payments platform and they couldn't allow me to work with them anymore. I had $50k in a quickbooks checking account. Due to a technical error when they closed my account there was no way to recover the money. To this day when i login i still see the balance in a closed account. As you can imagine having that much money in an account, i called them nonstop to find a resolution. After about a month or so of back and forth i was told that the only feasible solution was to call customers to have them ask their banks to reverse the charge and pay me through another method. The whole process was a mess and afterward i started getting emails from intuit about chargebacks etc. I called back worried that this goes against what i was told in the last resolution. I would spend about an hour back and forth through different depts and eventually they told me that the automated system generates these emails and not to worry. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and i began getting correspondence from this company. As soon as i received the first email i responded immediately. Every email seems like its a copy and paste script. No response to emails no response to my calls or voicemails but they are threatening me with legal action on a matter that shouldn't even exist. I told them we need to have a 3-way communication with intuit to get to the bottom of this and of course, no answer. From other reviews online its clear to see this is a shady business and they are trying to get money under any circumstances. The last email they sent they tried to use scare tactics to say that maybe fraudulent stuff was done in my business handlings and i should try to come up with a payment plan.

Thank you for forwarding the complaint filed by **************. I have reviewed the information contained therein and believe that this matter is resolved. The complainant has already paid a substantial amount that was initially in question. In addition, the same day this complaint was received ************** contacted our office directly requesting installment payments. His case manager responded promptly and we're awaiting his response to the terms of the requested arrangement.

      Thank youm

Filer received a letter from this company on behalf of a ************************* as of July 28th 2022. This letter claims that the Filer owes a total of $7320.36 as of April 24th, 2015 to a one *************************. The ***** has absolutely no knowledge of this debt and has absolutely no idea who this ************************* person is. The Filer does not claim this debt. The Filer is also greatly concerned that they were presented with what appears to be a time-barred/statue debt for the state of WA. Upon researching this company, the Filer was deeply alarmed to find numerous statements online regarding this companys misconduct and illegal tactics used towards and on WA residents as well as opposing collection agencies. For these reasons, the Filer has sought legal advisement for what is now being considered a fraud matter.

I received a collection letter in the mail stating i owed $6,233.35 for a previous house i lived in, i owed 2 months rent which is $3,000.00 and the final moveout was an additional $1,500 in damages after collecting my $2,500.00 deposit. the final move out amount was just above $4,000.00. after receiving this notice i called the company on 10/07/21 and the said they would call me back in 10 minutes. its now 10/11/21 and they called me back, i explained the matter that i did not owe that much but also said i will make a few hundred dollar payment today and set up monthly payments for automatic withdraw. the guy told me i needed to get a loan from my bank and pay them back. i proceeded to say i did not owe the amount stated and i have the paper work on my final ****. either way i tried to make a payment and he would not take it. i tried to resolve the debt and he said we will see you in court and now you will have a judgment against you and just hung up on me. i tried to pay. i did.

I have reviewed complaint filed by the complainant and appreciate the opportunity to respond accordingly. Complainant did contact our office on Friday,  10/8. His account manager only worked a partial day that day so was not able to return his call on the same day, but did get in touch on the following Monday, 10/11, the next available business day. The first issue was that the complainant was not in agreement with the balance due. He and his case worker discussed the charges and even discussed a possible reduction in the balance. We feel that the complainant does owe all charges as stated and have the documentation to breakdown the explanation of the balance due, but to attempt expedient resolution for our client we would have been willing to do a balance reduction. Our policy is a reduction in the balance must be paid in a lump sum. We do not offer arrangements on settlements of any kind. Complainant did offer $200.00 in installment payments but this would take approximately 3 years to pay off, not accounting for interest. He was contractually bound to monthly payments of $1500.00 per month with our client, not $200.00. We are not asking for $1500.00, but do expect that in agreeing to installments our client is still made whole in a reasonable time frame. Should the complainant still wish to resolve this matter I welcome him to contact me and we can hopefully arrive at a conclusion to satisfy all parties.

I am rejecting this response because: i do have paperwork stating what i owed on moveout. i don't know how $2,000.00 is added to my final ****, even with interest of $370.00 there was money added on to the **** that i was not billed in my final letter. and no, i did not say i wanted reduced billing at a lump sum, i had stated that i did not agree with the charges but am still willing to make a payment to at least start paying something. I'm sure you listened to the message but i did not state i was only paying if the **** was reduced so that is a lie. even if it takes me time to pay off you cannot expect me to just have thousands of dollars lying around to even make a payment. just because i paid my landlord monthly $1500.00 does not mean i can make that type of payment now because i do live in a new home and not under a bridge taking care of a family of 4, and a 6 year old daughter with bone cancer. i attempted to make a payment and got hung up on. i have final billing from the landlord in paperwork that i will present when necessary. I'm sorry, but you cannot just add extra money on to a final **** because you wanted to, I'm pretty sure that's not legal. the carpet I'm being charged for was stated in the pre inspection move in paperwork that it needed to be replaced before i even moved into the house, so that falls under Washington's laws of normal wear and tare of a rental. either way i attempted to make a payment and got denied to make that payment and hug up on. i personally contacted them and they did not call me once. i did my due diligence on this debt owed and they would not accept money when I'm pretty sure legally they have to accept any amount of money someone is willing to pay.
      Sincerely,
