      Hello,

Thanks for reaching out via the BBB. Bonanza is an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers to transact directly. As an online marketplace, the most important thing Bonanza can do is provide a safe environment for both buyers and sellers. Sometimes it's hard to know who you can trust and who you can't when shopping online. Fortunately, Bonanza provides users with tools to ensure a positive shopping experience:

-Every seller can import their feedback from other reputable marketplaces- like **** and Amazon

-Bonanza requires all sellers to put a credit card on file. Credit card companies do powerful identity verification, so proving that a seller has a valid credit card is an important step toward reducing fraud.

-Additionally, we have sophisticated systems for detecting users that log in from systems or locations that have a history of fraud or are more likely to engage in fraudulent behavior.

When a seller violates our terms of use or continues to receive negative feedback from buyers, we take action to remove the seller from our site and notify the buyer so they can take action to retrieve their goods or funds. One of the reasons we require sellers to accept PayPal is that PayPal offers a level of buyer protection in the event something goes wrong with their order. Our team is here to guide you in filing a dispute to get your money back in the unlikely event of a negative shopping experience.

Do not buyer from a seller here, even with Paypal protection. The day after I made my purchase, I received a notification that a shipping label was created, but it wasn't in the system yet after a week I contacted the seller asking for an update and never received a response. After two weeks, the package shipped from ***** instead of *******, **** through a service I was not able to track my package with. Once the package reached the states, I never received a new shipping number with the stateside package handler and only received notification that my package was delivered through the bonanza system. However, I never received the package. I even asked my neighbors if they got a box they weren't expecting and it has somehow vanished into thin air. When I first was unable to contact the seller, I did contact bonanza, customer support, who guided me through the steps. When I never received my package, I did a PayPal dispute and it was denied. Bonanza. Customer support has in their policy that if you are unable to reach a resolution with the seller or PayPal, they will escalate the issue to a claim. Instead, I just received "sorry this happened, paypal decisions are final" instead of that last measure of customer service. So unfortunately, I am out almost $50 with no resolutinon. Absolutely do not buy anything listed on this website.

I have used Bonanza for years and would not hesitate to buy there as long as I used PayPal for my own protection. For sellers, the site used to be exceptional, with speedy, human customer service. But now ******* has added a penalty fee for sellers who don't purchase their shipping, which they claim is the lowest around. Don't be fooled; it's not even close to the lowest. They also claim they will refund you if you buy their shipping and find a lower-priced service elsewhere. I'm still waiting for that refund to appear. And, just to solidify *******'s standing as Worst Shipping Ever, when you do buy their shipping, they add a $2 charge, which will be put toward the next shipping you buy from them, so "you're really not losing anything." As if. When you use the $2 they stole from you to buy a new shipping label, ******* will take another $2, so you'll never really get that money back. It's just a kind of blackmail to force you to buy their shipping.Imagine going into ******* for a pack of Oreos and finding a two-dollar charge added on."What's that for?" you ask."Don't worry, the next time you come in, we'll apply that $2 to your purchase.""And then you'll charge me another $2 for shopping in your store.""Basically, yes."Let's face it, if Bonanza really did offer the cheapest shipping around, would they have to use extortion to get sellers to buy it? We'd leap at the chance to save on shipping. The fact that they have to force us to use it just proves it's a bad deal. So, buying on Bonanza? Go for it. Selling on Bonanza? Be wary.

I have not received Order for two shelf cabinets that was placed on December 31, 2023. On January 2, **** when I wrote to ask when my order would be shipped, I was told "Were writing to inform you of an unfortunate delay."On January 11, **** on-line Bonanza customer support wrote: "We have shipped your order the tracking scan is not updated yet. We are waiting for the update so that we can provide you the tracking information."On January 17, **** ******* (*******) wrote in an e-mail "Thank you for contacting Bonanza Support and we're sorry to hear that you have not received your order. We thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we have reported the problem to our Compliance team to investigate this seller further. In the meantime, we highly recommend that you contact PayPal to open a dispute for a refund.I filed a complaint with Pay Pal and escalated it the next day. They told me they'd have a decision by January 31, ****. I have still not received my order....

      Hello,

Thanks for your review. Bonanza does not ************** or ship any inventory. All items listed on Bonanza are sold by individual sellers.

On Bonanza, buyers pay sellers directly and the seller ships the order. One of the reasons Bonanza sellers are required to accept PayPal is that PayPal offers a level of protection in the event something goes wrong with your order.

For your financial security, PayPal does not permit Bonanza to file a dispute on your behalf. Since your personal financial information is private, PayPal will only allow the account or cardholder associated with the purchase to file a dispute. We've included information below on how to start the dispute process:

If you completed your purchase by logging into a PayPal account:
      File a dispute with PayPal online: *******************************************************************************;
If you completed your purchase by manually entering a debit/credit card using PayPal's guest checkout:
File a dispute via telephone*: ************** or **************
*Please have the debit/credit card number you entered on PayPal handy when contacting them so that you may quickly locate your order. Say "Representative" to speak to a live human for assistance.

We hope that you are able to reach a resolution with the seller or PayPal soon.

They added a $2 assessment fee for each sale where you use your own shipping. This was never communicated outside of some banner notifications that are easy to miss. Bonanza already spams the seller dashboard with useless notifications that everyone ignores. They thought that making such a large change then announcing it via one of these updates would be sufficient. They started charging these fees at the beginning of December when holiday sales are at their highest. I ended up eating a ton in fees that I only noticed until it was too late. I asked them to reverse these unannounced fees, but they responded by saying they did sufficiently communicate these fees, which is absolutely untrue. In their response, they said they announced this in an email. I never received this mail because I'm not subscribed to their blog. You shouldn't need to have to be subscribed to their blog to avoid being shafted by otherwise unannounced fees. Shady business practices.

      Hello,

Thank you for contacting Bonanza regarding our recent update to our shipping requirements. Bonanza sent multiple notifications via email, blog post and help page updates prior to the updated shipping policy going into effect on November 8, 2023. Additionally, ******* updated the text within the order confirmation emails sent to sellers when a purchase is complete indicating a non-refundable $2 shipping assessment will be added to all orders that do not have labels purchased via ********** an approved partner and provided a User Guide regarding shipping requirements and the label purchasing flow.

Please review the information outlined on the sales confirmation email sent by Bonanza prior to fulfilling the listings. Should you have questions about any policies outlined on the sales confirmation email or any other documentation provided by ********** in the Bonanza help center, please contact our team at ******************* for clarification.

We also recommend updating your notification settings to ensure that you receive pertinent communications from Bonanza regarding policy changes. You can update your settings in the "Account > Account settings > My notifications" page

12/24/2023 - Bonanza is now forcing us to pay $2 for shipping labels. I sell fridge magnets at $5.99 free shipping which get mailed out in envelopes with a stamp that I pay for. I've been doing it this way for 23 years on **** and for over 5 years on Bonanza. This forced me to raise my price on my magnets. How do we print the Bonanza shipping labels if we don't have printers? I thought **** has become greedy. Bonanza is now the worst. I'll be lucky if I ever make another sale. Thanks for nothing Bonanza!

      12/26/2023

      Hello,

Thanks for contacting Bonanza. As of November 8, 2023, Bonanza launched a new shipping program to help businesses of all sizes save money and time by offering the lowest-rate labels and cutting out the data entry when buying a shipping label.

For each order that does not have a shipping label purchased through ********** an approved partner, a $2 shipping assessment will be added to your monthly bill. If you purchase a shipping label through ********** an approved partner, you will not be assessed the $2 for that order.

Bonanza offers *********** and *** shipping labels. You can even compare prices for each carrier at the time of purchasing your label to ensure you're getting the best value! And when you purchase a label through Bonanza, all of the buyer's information is automatically populated, and tracking (if applicable) is added to the order summary & emailed to the buyer, saving you time by not having to manually input that data.

Dont have a printer at home?
For **** labels, select *** (with ** code) when purchasing the label. Take the ** code to **** on your phone and theyll print the label for free.
For ***** or *** labels, select a *** label. Show the label or an email of the *** on your phone at a ***** or *** store and theyll print it for free.

      Hi ******,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about the trouble with your recent order. Bonanza is a platform that connects buyers to transact directly with third-party sellers. We had a look at the listing associated with your recent purchase and see that the seller indicated the item was a "pre-owned or refurbished product has been professionally inspected and tested to work and look like new". You can view the full listing details and item description at the link below:

      ********************************************************************************************************************************

Bonanza sellers are more than willing to make things right once they hear from you. You can easily contact the seller directly by logging into Bonanza and hovering your mouse over the "Account" tab in the upper left-hand corner of any page and selecting "Recent Purchases" from the drop-down menu. Locate the order, then click the "Send them a message" link to email the seller directly. This will include your order number in the subject line so the seller will know exactly what you're referring to.

Please let us know at ******************* if we can assist with getting in touch with the seller.

SOMETHING is up with this business that is on the shady side. I used to sell on Bonanza but after they kept taking fees out for items that were sold in the prior 2 years, I quit. The fees were already taken out at the time that these items were sold. (Oh by the way, I only sold 3 products in 2-1/2 years since they don't show ** in the search engines). Plus they have NO customer service. They just spit out boiler plate emails that have no meaning. Also I was having problems with someone getting into my PP account, then I deleted Bonanza from my PP and I haven't had any problems since. Suspicious indeed! ZERO STARS

      Hello,

Thanks for your review and sorry for any confusion. Bonanza collects selling fees once a month following the completion of a sale. Learn more about fee collection on the following page:

      ***************************************************************************************************

As a marketplace facilitator, Bonanza is legally required to collect and remit sales tax on behalf of third-party sellers using the Bonanza platform. The buyer pays the sales tax portion of the payment, then ******* collects that tax payment and remits it to the state. The taxes may appear as a "Partner Fee" or "Application Fee" on the payment in your PayPal or Stripe account. Taxes are separate from the selling fees all sellers agree to pay when registering for an account on Bonanza.

Learn more about sales tax here:

      ***************************************************************************************

Bonanza is proud to offer personalized support for each contact received. We've even won Best in **************** in the last two ************** Seller's Choice Surveys!

We hope that addresses your concerns and offers clarity about the way tax and fee payments work. Feel free to reach out to our team at ******************* if you have additional questions.

Spent hours signing up and setting up my booth. After it said my store was approved I added even more products about 152 items I posted on there. That takes a lotttt of time. Oh and nothing bad I sell home decor items like shower curtains, blankets and bedding. They shut me down and didnt even notify me. I had to contact them because I couldnt log in. They basically tell you we dont trust you and go elsewhere we are denying you service. I feel like I was scammed from hours and hours of my time. It is shady at the very least that a professional company does not even contact you when they shut you down or give you a valid reason. I wish I and others would have read their reviews on here and many other places before wasting our time. Clearly this company is completely unprofessional and lacks basic communication skills. Im surprised they are in business if this is how they treat people. They lost thousands of sales with me as well as my business from purchases I would place and sell. My thousands of followers will also know about my horrible experience and I can guarantee some of them will stop shopping or avoid their business as well. So due to their own unprofessional behaviors they lost lots of dollars.
