Having built many houses with various contractors over the years, my own experience with Adair this last year has been very good thus far! ***** and her team have been very customer service oriented and great to work with. Keep in mind, every construction build is going to have its hiccups and headaches..that's the nature of the business ..but again, Adair (who I've built with before back in 2002) has recently been doing very well for us. Things have been on schedule and the timing has been good throughout the construction process. We're looking forward to the completion of the home coming up here soon and seeing the final product come to fruition. The *******

Our experience with Adair Homes up to this point has been horrible. We signed a contract and gave a deposit to Adair Homes on 4/27/2023. Our loan was approved in June 2023 and funded in July 2023. We have been paying on this loan since. Our property was already paid for. Our septic system and well were already installed, Pad area inspected and approved by an engineer.Adair sent us the Building plans and we forwarded them to the county . The plans were rejected 5 times. There plot plan was rejected and they made us hire and pay for an engineer. We are going on 8 months since the Home has been funded. We still can't get a start date.In the past few days they informed us that the price of the home has increased $21,500.00 Which exceeds the Price Allowance they had built into the contract. They also stated there may be additional price increases. Still no start date. The cost of the home is exceeding our contract price. My wife and I don't see this ending well.

We are appreciative of the feedback provided by our customer. After further investigation, we have determined that the project has moved forward as anticipated. We encourage our customers to engage in open dialogue with us to resolve any confusion or misunderstandings while their dream homes are being constructed.

Adair was very difficult to work with. My kids's house is less than two years old and needs a new roof because it was such terrible work. Called Adair and they said they only cover one year on the structure. Did not offer anything else. Everyone they contracted has done terrible work and has needed repair throughout the time we took possession. Windows needed repair and that has never been done. They were very expensive and hire sub par contractors. We are terribly disappointed with our home. Love the floor plan but the quality of the work in every area has been awful. Do your homework people and go with someone else to build your home.

Adair has searched its records and we are unable to locate a customer with the last name *****************  As such, we are unable to respond to the concerns and would request that the information be removed.  Thank you.

I am requesting a refund for engineering plans for the ***** family. We started the process of building a home with your organization in spring of 2021. We were in the engineering phase when we realized even if we finished this process there was no infrastructure in place to build our home. Each of us gave $5000 towards starting our homes. We never had a completed plan given to us. We were informed that no GC or building crews were in place to start our homes. We sent a complaint through your website June 2023 because we do not feel this money should have been kept when you didnt deliver anything to our family. We started over with another builder and moved into our homes 12/22. We have been watching another Adair home on our street that started at the same time as our home began the process with you and they are still not finished building their home. So we were correct to not use your company in this process. Please refund our $5000 each to our family to resolve this issue. ***** family Desert falcon Cc: BBB

WOW !!! It is difficult to imagine that so many other customers were 'ripped off' (to use the vernacular) and are in the same situation we are in. As this is being written, it is over 14 months since the house project was commenced. The company states the building is complete, but the county says otherwise. It would take more than the characters remaining to cover the misinformation, misdirection, lies, unsupported delays, phony platitudes, and anything else you could think of to explain why it would take well over a year to build what is nothing more than a tract house. We advised one of the managers that the house was built for Adair Homes, **** It is not the home we chose. We added a name to the project which we consider to be quite appropriate: The Bull---- Bungalow. One of the reviewers on the BBB site, ************** has it down perfectly. All the items he has listed are right on. One that really stood out for us is internal company communication. One department doesn't have a clue what another one is doing. We received emails from one official that were discredited by another. Not the way to run a business. As the old saying goes, hindsight is *****. We really wish we had retained legal counsel much earlier. We are unable to believe that this company is still in business. 'Future possible customers be very aware'.

This has been the worst experience we have ever had with home building. We wanted to build the Cascade model and had two supers come out a look at our building site. We were informed that Adair would not build a home on the site due then slope of the property. We discussed our build options with them and settled on a modified design of the Cashmere. The foundation team arrived and discovered they were putting a foundation on top of rock (Adair failed to tell them). We failed our first inspection because of the extra work required to put the foundation on rock. Once the foundation was in, we discovered we were responsible for the concrete sealant on the foundation. No one informed us before hand. Our communication with Adair has been sparse at best and we are treated like a subcontractor not the customer. Once construction started there was nothing but complaints about the road to the build site. The road is county and fire department approved. Then, it was time for the trusses to be delivered and the truss company said we cant get up the road. After much nail biting by the Adair super, we the customer, solved the problem by hiring another truss company to deliver the trusses to the build site (another cost out of our pocket). Adair is dishonest and manipulates contracting to their advantage. We were told that we could make change requests at anytime during the build process, the regional manager informed us that once the planned is inked and finalized, changes are not permitted under any circumstance. We asked for a number at corporate headquarters to contact and were informed I am the boss and make all operational decisions, look up the company on our web site for contact info. Communication, non-existent, openness, non-existent, honesty, non-existent, customer service/care, non-existent. Under no circumstance would I recommend Adair Homes as a builder to anyone! If you are using them now - HIRE A CONSTRUCTION ATTORNEY! Protect yourself.

My husband was a superintendent for 5 year at Adair. Our complaint is with the warranty process. We waited the 1st year and submitted our warranty list before deadline. Per Adair company policy a super cannot manage their own build or warranty.Covid happened and backups occured. We were told the warranty would get done but back orders were happening. We were understanding for 2 years My husband left Adair, 2 regional managers left too. In the last 6 months a super came on and he got most of our things completed then he left Adair. Our 6 broken windows were delivered then we were told they would not install. The new regional person swore at my husband on the phone and said he just needed to clear out the outstanding warranties and ours was the last. We submitted complaints to there customer care, we provided 3 years of ***************************** agreed to pay for 1/2 the installation cost saying the work was past warranty and saying my husband did not do his job so they would not pay the whole cost.My husband and contractors we worked with had integrity. Adair does not.

********************* was an integral part of a Branch Team that services warranties. He was not expected to service his own home warranties. Adair's policy is to repair all windows damaged during delivery/construction. No damaged windows were listed on the final documentation for this home. Adair graciously participated in half of the invoice for window replacement to provide a good Customer Experience.

The reason we received for Adair not covering the cost of was "**** being familiar with the warranty process and the the home being out of warranty when the work was completed". We moved into our house 12/2019 . we submitted our big list of issues before 12/2020. We then did add the information about the window again before the 1 year deadline. Adair said in phone calls and emails that they would include them. Adair blamed *********** for not getting the windows. COVID caused backups and we thought we were being kind and understanding. . why would adair finish our long list of warranty issues in the fall of 2022 and then not the windows? How else does Adair explain that there super that was only there for 6 months personally brought the windows to our house. He said "I want to make sure you have them so they get installed" Installation was also scheduled I have an emails and so does Adair stating this. He apologized for not having them done before he left. then ***** ( new ******* person) called and cancelled, swore at my husband and said "your warranty is the longest past due and i just need this off my list" Nothing is gracious. I have spent 3 years corresponding with Adair monthly about work not done with various people. I have complained to customer care multiple times. My husband worked there but I am the customer. ********************** also goes back and forth blaming **** for not taking care of his own warranty and then stating it was not his job to do it. If you are considering buying a home from Adair you might want to ask yourself why good employees are leaving? My house is beautiful because of the good trades that worked on it. I have had many people stop at my house and ask about building. I will from now on tell them not to build with Adair because of the customer care and follow through.

We began working with Adair Homes in January of 2021. We received our financing on October 2021 for a construction to permanent home loan. Up to this point I have had to contact the foundation crew about their job, coordinate with the electrician, try and find a framer and contact the lumber supply company. It is now June 29th, 2022 and we still do not have *************** and the lumber package has been in the weather since the middle of May. We are constantly getting the run around. We wouldnt recommend anyone using them at this point to build. To top it off if Adair Homes doesnt have our home built by the middle of October we have to pay for an extension.
