Im not one to bad mouth a business, but Anytime Fitness has left me no choice. I dont want to see someone in the situation Im currently in with them.I was willing to pay the $200 cancellation fee to get out early due to an uncomfortable situation at the gym. After contacting them on how to cancel, you have to contact a third party financing company and then write a letter to cancel, and it takes up to 45 days while they still take out your biweekly payments. I sent the letter on April 10 and now well after the 45 days Im still being charged.When contacting the gym directly I was told I am looking at the notations on your account with *** financial. I show that on April 9 they received a phone call from you stating that you were looking to cancel. They advised to you of the process for canceling was sending that certified letter or letter. Im not showing that anything was ever received. If you are looking to get the cancellation scheduled, you will need to contact *** financial at **********.keep in mind that we do not handle cancellations in the gym itself. The only way to get those scheduled would be contacting *** financial.After leaving a 1 star ****** review I get a call from the gym manager that they will in fact process the cancellation through the gym (which remember I was told they couldnt do). I call to pay my $200 cancellation fee to be d-***** with this absolute nightmare.Yes we can take care of that, the total is $259.96. (The cancellation fee is $199.99 or balance whichever is less). We are considering today your 45 day notice so youll need to pay for those 45 days.I said I will pay the $199.99 cancellation fee as written in the contract and they said no, they have no record of my letter, even though they can see I called on April 9. Why would I call, get the instructions on how to cancel and then not send a letter? I said Im stopping the autopay and was then told Ill be sent to collections.
