5 starsBeen with TDS for 6 years. Honestly service has been on and off but recently a technician came to see why my connection was bad. He found old connectors were still working and left behind. No one ever bothered to see this was interfering with reception. His name is Zander. He should be running TDS!! My service is finally A+. Thanks Zander you are brilliant.Review fromMarie T

1 starHidden fees after relentless advertising for lower cost than other internet providers. Then when I canceled the plan and sent the modem back in their package well before their 10day deadline, they now say never recieved the correct modem as if I had 2 and reported a different modem serial number and charged me 158$ for this different serial number. Customer support is hard to connect with always transferring to another "supervisor" that can't help. Customer support is not in the ** and they have no authority to help!Review fromTammy S

1 starI was closing my account due to a move and no longer needed TDS service. TDS forced me to pay the amount due until my account was closed, that was in December 2024. TDS owed me what I was forced to overpay which was $104. We called multiple times on why we had not received the amount we were owed back. On April 21 (4 months later) we finally received something in the mail and it wasn't even a check, it was a prepaid debit card with the amount. TDS should be required to refund me with a check and NOT a prepaid debit card. This was a terrible customer experience and not a company I will choose to do business with.Review fromKellyn H

1 starWe had TDS since 1982, and recently terminated the land line (no need) and internet services (no access to high speed in our area). We were bundled with DN for TV. TDS was still billing me for DN services but I wasn't allowed online bill pay access because I technically didn't have an account through TDS-but was still being billed from TDS. They never sent me paper statements and then wanted to charge a fee for sending out those paper statements, and they would not email a copy of the bills I did not receive so I could review it. They charged a $60 fee that not one of the 6 customer representatives I spoke to could tell me what it was for. The 6th rep hung up on me. They never disclosed that when I terminated services that my auto pay (due to come out prior to termination date) deactivates the day you call in to terminate services. I sat on the phone for 2hrs with nothing resolved. If a bundled service is terminated, and I am no longer a TDS customer, the bundle should be dissolved and DN bills come directly from them OR if bills are still coming from TDS then one should have access to their online access/billing. Overall, their customer service was absolutely horrendous, their website is not user friendly, they have no app, and their service in our area is completely outdated.Review fromCynthia D

2 starsI've had TDS for over a decade and they are okay, decent service. One thing that is deeply disappointing and totally unnecessary is that when I pay my bill they chime a $4.95 "convenience fee" to pay my bill over the phone. YOU'RE LITERALLY CHARGING ME TO PAY YOU AND THAT IS INSANE! I'm forced to mail my payment via snail mail because TDS understood capitalist greed extremely well and found every single way possible to put it to their customers. GREED is the ONLY reason for this fee. Please do better.Review fromCathy L

1 starCustomer service is good, however, very deceptive business practices by this company! Due to sale of my home I had to cancel my service and it is not available at my new home. I had to pay for a full month of service (only used 12 days) due to being 'subscription' based. Result is this company making double the money as the new buyer set up service same day I cancelled. Also, when you start this service you are forced into getting a landline number and have to pay for that as well (no option not to get it). There was no other option for internet else I would never use or recommend this org. One star is not low enough for the business practices of this company.Review fromBetsy S

1 starWe spoke with the TDS sales representative two years ago and decided to switch Internet providers from ********. This was due to lower pricing and promised higher speeds. We had several issues with the installation, as TDS cut our neighbor ******** lines and our neighbors, ******** cut our lines several times. Also, the installer cut a waterline and didnt tell us. Eventually, we had it fixed and sent them the bill. They gave us a credit on our future bill, after numerous calls to supervisors, etc. Several other people, that we talked to had the same issues.. After two years, they doubled our bill and just increased our auto pay without notifying us. After several times being transferred by TDS employees, they finally offered a $20 credit per month for only one year as their best offer. We decided to go with ******** who offered a much better deal & better service. When calling TDS back a day later, they tried to offer less than ********, and we said we arent playing those games anymore. If they wouldve offered it to us to begin with, we wouldnt have changed. The supervisor, Danny from *********, refused to give a refund or prorate for the current month- that we had only used two days of and wont be using the rest. Poor service.Review fromSteven K

1 starEvery time I call to say something is wrong with the service. They send someone out and nothing get fixed!! Than you always add 4 to 6 dollars to my bill!! Started at 60 dollars and 5 years later, I've had 4 guys come to my house and now the bill is 78 dollars!! The Last guy that come out with about a month ago. I told that guy and the lady on the phone that I was going to be mad if I got charged more money just for something to look at your equipment at my house. Well **** sure got charged more and nothing was fixed!! I also told the lady on the phone that they needed to send a level 2 tech to come out, because its a neighborhood problem!! ******* got put into our neighborhood and they messed with your equipment!! Now the internet goes in and out at 9:30 every night and two more times during the day. But nope you sent the some old tech, charged me more money monthly and the internet *****!! I'm going to be moving to ******* very soon. Since your company thinks it's so great to charge more for nothing to be fixed!!Review fromKrystal R

1 starIf I could leave 0 stars, I would! I called a couple weeks ago to set up installation for internet services. The customer service rep recommended I cancel my current provider before my installation date of 3/14. I canceled my current provider as recommended, only for TDS to come out on 3/14 and say they can't install services until 4/1 because lines need to be dug up. I called them back on 3/14 and let them know we do not want a line dug in our yard and to cancel installation. I work from home and cannot be without internet that long. It's now 3/17 and TDS is digging up my yard! I went out and asked them to stop as we cancelled services. I called TDS and they couldn't help me because I didn't have an account number. I advised them they were the ones who sent people to my yard to dig it up after I advised them not to! Because of their incompetence, I had to pay $30 to have my old provider reconnect internet, and now have to take care of a dug up yard. I will be sure to share my experience with anyone who asks about TDS to save them the nightmare that I went through before even becoming a formal customer. Their customer service reps need a training overhaul.
