InMay, I had this company come to give me free estimate of my basement water, the gentleman came said I would need a drain tile test, and it was 450, but if I decided to have them do the work ,I don't owe the 450, if I decide to go another company I owed 450. I signed for the drain tile test, they came and he told me yes I needed them,he then said he would send me a quote for the repair, asked did I want them to remove all the paneling from basement, I said no I would do,, so wasn't going to add to quote he didn't ask me to pay the ******, then he called me that evening and said he noticed something by foundation, and was concerned of problem and may need excavation and beams, but he said I needed to remove all paneling, so he could inspect and see what needed done, I did that ,and had independent basement man come to give his opinion( ***************) , he doesn't repair just gives his recommendation. The person who came was not happy that I had this review, "stating on phone why would I pay him ,when they were going to give me recommendations, well he came inspect and then told me, that he would go back to office and would send me the quote based on what they felt needed done. I said okay and he never emailed me, never called, me never texted me, I never heard from company, until 2 days saying I owed 450. And that they didn't owe me an estimate as I didn't have to have them do the work based on a estimate if they had given me.. What, how can I go with their company if I don't know what they want to do, how much will cost? Their website says call or fill out form or "Free estimates. Based.on emails with company, the day of drain tile test should have asked for money( which I would have paid), but he said he was sending me the quote of work to be done. Can you please help me somehow. Thank you ****

Our initial appointment with *************** was on April 21, 2022 at 1:30pm.  At that appointment, we determined that a drain tile test would be the next step. The drain tile test was scheduled for May 5, 2022 at 9am.  The day of the test,*************** signed the Drain Tile Test agreement (see attached).  The drain tile test failed and we also noticed that there was some base shearing present on the South wall.  We shared with *************** the results of the drain tile test and suggested that she remove the paneling so that the structure of the wall could be more thoroughly assessed.

*************** removed the paneling and we went back for another site visit on May 20, 2022 at 9:30am.  At this appointment, *************** shared that she had two third party inspectors out to look at her basement and to perform another drain tile test.  The drain tile test performed by the third party yielded the same results as ours, along with the same repair recommendation.  Both third party inspectors had differing opinions on how to fix the structural issues with the home; one agreed with us and the other suggested a repair that would not meet the standards of the current Uniform Building Code.

Since an agreement could not be reached on the repair method, we did not provide an estimate for the repair.  We did bill *************** $450 for the drain tile test, which she did pay in full.

Date of transaction was September of 2017. I paid $17,180 for the work that was done. The following work was done: Test drain tiles. Install new drain tiles. Install sump pump and crock. Excavate as needed. ********************* Indoor and outdoor concrete work. Most of the work was done properly, but about 20 square feet of the outdoor concrete has gradually become badly pitted and is an eyesore. The company refuses to correct the problem because "concrete is not covered under the warranty."

I am aware that the poor workmanship involved is not covered under the warranty.  Given that there is a full page of exceptions to the warranty, I don't  see that the warranty provides much help for a customer who has received substandard care.  If  bbb complaints are about customer satisfaction, I think I have a solid complaint
