1 starBUYER BEWARE !!!! Bought a suction pool cleaner OFF SEASON because Dohenys had a off season sale . Went to use it and it didnt work, it was damGef never started up. Its on warranty so I called, they told me its past 30 days and the warranty doesnt matter I have to return it at my own cost. They would send me the same thing but not refund my money or give me store credit. The product is cheap and didnt work. THE LADY I SPOKE TO WAS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. I will never buy from them again.Review fromSue S

1 starI found out the hard way that the prices in their catalog are not the actual prices for their items. Even with giving them the finder # and the promo code # they still charged me more than the amount listed in their catalog. I am still trying to get them to refund me the difference. Also, they dont include the weight or size of a lot of their products, such as the sealers. The picture shows a larger size than you actually get. Just fyi. I will not be doing business with Dohenys in the future.Review fromKara L

1 starThis company sends out large buckets of chlorine tablets with the bottom half of the bucket filled with broken tablets. A 50lb bucket lasts me 2 seasons, so naturally, I didn't notice the damaged ones until I started using them this season. I called them but their response to me was too bad, so sad... I'll never buy from them again!!!!! They said because it was over a year they wouldn't help me. It was literally 2 days past the year date. I guess they expect their customers to dump out the entire 50lb bucket to make sure they sent undamaged products. I don't recommend anyone buying from them.Review fromScott D

While placing an order online I got a notice that said "Not able to process card" but at that exact moment, my card was processed the full amount of my order $219.27! When I called Doheny, they said there is nothing they can do from there end and I need to contact my bank. What a waste of time! I have to deal with my bank and fight a charge all because they claim they can not see the charge on their end. The agent tried to claim that it was a pre-authorization but in the same breath told me that the company charges when an order is placed. Liars who have zero customer service and have committed fraud with my credit card. I will never order from them again.Doheny's, LLC

Thank you for reaching out, it is true what you were instructed. At the point of sale the card is authorized for the total amount sometimes even when a decline is experienced. This is not a charge and the card is not billed until the product physically ships. Authorizations are pending funds and will completely clear typically overnight or within 72 hours of the transaction.Review fromDale M

Just like every complaint here, they don't stand by their products. My complaint is their solar pool covers. I wrote this to them: So, this cover was bought last August and put into service immediately. It was pulled off, rolled up and put into my storage shed for the Winter about mid-September. It was pulled out and put on the pool at the beginning of May 2024. It started bleeding plastic pieces from the bubbles in July. Later in August, when I was pulling the cover off to swim, it ripped. It didn't catch on anything. It just ripped from my pulling. It always goes back on the pool after the swim. Not lay around in the sun. These problems shouldn't be manifesting on a cover that has only about 4 months of total usage. My last two covers, which I purchased from Doheny's, both lasted 3 seasons. I didn't save my receipts from them so I couldn't make claims. This last time I did. I am very disappointed this time around. The cover did a fine job heating up the water. It just fell apart. You state the warranty doesn't cover the bubble damage due to an unbalanced pool. Really? And how long would it need to be unbalanced for it to eat away the plastic? One day, a week, a month, the whole season? An unbalanced pool would be an uncomfortable pool to swim in. My pH is always where it should be. I assure you my grandkids and my wife would surely complain about the water quality. I run a simple ionizer, which I've used for about 9 seasons. This allows me to use LESS chlorine. So, that can't be it. I also use Easy Care Pooltec algaecide. There is nothing in it's information sheets that says it will harm plastic. That's all the chemicals I use. No need to use pH adjusters because it's never out of whack. I really don't think ANY cover will make it to it's warranted life expectancy. But, it surely should last more than 4 months. I expect a fairly decent credit towards another cover. They haven't responded. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Hello,
This is the manufacturer's warranty on the cover controlled and set forth by the manufacturer of the product. This warranty is standard across the industry and the terms were provided at the time of purchase and upon receiving the cover. You were advised correctly on the warranty status of this cover. Please also refer to the warranty card that was received with the cover at the time of purchase. Please note where the card states...
The following issues are NOT COVERED under warranty:
Bubble Damage - This occurs when the bubbles on the solar cover start to fall off.
This is a chemical problem and often caused from the pool water not being properly
balanced.
UV Damage This is caused by exposing the solar cover to the sun while removed
from the pool (improper storage).Damage caused by animals. Misuse, discoloration, fading, or color bleaching out.
Tears, rips, or cracks caused by the claimant.Review fromDavid B

I ordered a 26 round cover for my above ground pool. Unfortunately my dog fell through it and we had to replace it. She was ok and that is what counts. They sent the wrong cover. I had already removed my old cover with the hole in it. I checked the box and found they had sent in-ground rectangular pool cover. Contacted them they confirmed ordered the right cover but they shipped the wrong cover. I told them my pool water was exposed to the elements and could they over night the right one. I was told we do not do that because their contract with ****** was only for standard shipping. So s**** the customer even when they admit they are wrong. This not what I call customer **********************. Used them for 20 years but no more.Doheny's, LLC

I do apologize that a mistake was made in the wrong cover being sent. I do see the correct cover was sent to you the same day you had called to report this. Unfortunately, they were correct in informing you we were not able to expedite the shipment. The items that we are capable of shipping next day delivery are due to the stock and availability in one of our many warehouse facilities in connection to their proximity to you. I do see that the correct cover shows as delivered in two days, being the 21st of November.Review fromGregory D.

Terrible, terrible warranty policies on their products. I purchased a pool pump and within 30 days it went bad. After a bit of negotiation, they agreed to replace it, and did. The second pump again failed around the same time period. Again, negotiations then they agreed to replace it. I'm on my third pump and it appeared it would be good, but again it broke, leaking water from the pump. I contacted their service department (by the way there's no place on their website, invoicing, manuals, etc. where their service department number is listed) today and they say they can't replace my pump because it's out of warranty. I asked how so, he explained that even though the first two pumps failed, the warranty for the 3rd pump goes back to the original purchase date. What? So, your warranty is not on the equipment, the 3rd pump? Your warranty starts when you started shipping me your bad pumps? He said absolutely. That's it. You'll have to buy new. They say 1 year warranty, but if you buy a pump and it goes bad in 11 months and have a new one replace it, the new pump only has a 30-day warranty? He said that's right...buy a new one. This can't be right...false advertising. They don't honor the warranty for the new equipment. Warranty starts on the 2st pump purchase DATE. Someone needs to check this out. Can't be acceptable. I want to complain to a government entity as well.Doheny's, LLC

Hello *******,
We do apologize, the pump does come with a one-year manufacturer warranty against manufacturer defects. This dates back to the original purchase date, in this case May of 2023. In essence if the warranty restarted with every replacement, it would be a lifetime warranty and not a 1 year. The last replacement you received was July of 2023. You had contacted us in November of 2024 regarding a replacement this would have been 6 months past the manufacturer's warranty and 16 months past the last replacement.Review fromWilliam W

I have ordered from this company for years. This year I ordered some air pillows for my pool and all 3 of them had holes in them and was unable to be used. I called customer service and asked for a refund since I went ahead and closed my pool without the air pillows. They told me I needed to cut out sections of the new pillows I bought and send them back to receive in store credit. I told them I had pictures of the damaged pillows and they said they would not take them. So they expect the customer to pay to ship these cut pieces back to them to receive store credit. This is unacceptable.Doheny's, LLC
