    The rental car company (Economy Rent A Car) is not honoring its own policy for refunding my car rental reservation. I got a "prepaid" type of car rental and paid $1268.80 for a reservation from June 7th to 28th of 2024 in *********************. My flight to ********* got cancelled (the air line Lynx has just declared bankruptcy) so my trip is now obsolete as I cannot find any other reservation airfare on the same dates to be able to get to the car rental company. The car rental company policy states clearly that the prepaid reservations are non-refundable except for flight cancellation. I provided them with necessary evidence but they chose to refund me what I paid minus $200 for a "cancellation" fee even though their policy clearly indicates that the cancellation fee cannot exceed $50. When I emailed them the proof of their own policy from their own website showing the $50 cancellation fee, they still did not honor it and instead they chose to procrastinate and even temporize. I just want them to follow their policy and refund me $1268.80 minus $50 instead of the $200 cancellation fee. Is it too much to ask for honoring their own policy listed here: *************************************************** keep in mind that the car rental reservation was planned for 3 months in advance and I am cancelling 3 months in advance (meaning it is not like I did not show up at their Kiosk on the day of the reservation such that they had a sitting wasted rental car) as I am cancelling the car rental early for a reason that is out of my control and is an allowed reason for an exceptional refund per their policy!

    I booked a car on-line in March 2024. Pre-paid for it and rec'd a reply with a confirmation number. Upon arrival at ***************** after a 2 hour delay on an Air Canada flight, I called the number as directed to on their email for a shuttle. It was near mid-night and it was raining. Upon connecting with the agent from Economy Rent-A-Car, I was informed that since I was late, there was no car for me.?? After stating that it was confirmed, he said to "read the fine print" and that there was no obligation to hold a car for me.This was midnight in *********. I was there to take my daughter to orientation at ***. We had to take an Uber. Another $50. The next day I had to take an Uber again to get back to the airport to book another car form a different rental agency. This time the price was 2X what I had already pre-paid to Economy Rent-A-Car. Now the cost was over 500 dollars for the next few days.Upon finally reaching an agent for Economy Rent-A-Car, all the poor, and obviously young, agent could do was apologize and get my $ refunded. This was a deliberate act of unprofessional and unethical on the part of Economy Rent-A-Car. The 1 star is because I got the initial money back. Do NOT use this company.
