I'm currently a student enrolled in the cybersecurty specialist program at CDI college in cakfary. And I am currently struggling to complete this program after the college stopped me locked my logins without notice of any kind they started with email harassment stating they want their money to complete the program that I thought I had already paid for. So I made numerous attempts to reach out by phone and email which I never got say kund of response in return as to what was going on it took me nearly a month to finally get a little bit of info as to what happened and why I couldn't resume classes. As time went on it took me weeks to come up with the funding but after I paid 14k in more funding on top of the other 14k I paid prior to this. They finally let me resume classes but by that time I was so far behind they marked my grades with F for the time they had interrupted my studies. Took me yet a couple more weeks to figure out what was going on I feel so lost as they want me to complete all the homework and exams in a short period of time. ***** *** ** ** **** * ****** ********** They have me join in on teams meetings for classes I have no info of what's going on. This college is by far the worst the people who all correspond on behalf of the college is very, ****, don't take students concerns into consideration,as I tried to reach out for resources for mental health i got no help what so ever. as well the instructors don't teach us anything. everything I know is self taught as well Info from you tube. the homework I was given had no instructions from instructor. I completed the work by doing research on ****** and ******** 100% no guidance from the instructor. Main email them for help and they would simply email you the answers. Aside from that we paid for text books that we cannot physically have and expire as soon as the course is completed. I wish I was given proper knowledge of this before putting all saving into such a school. And learned nothing.

I attended CDI college online very briefly in April -May 2021. I withdrew as the online format was not working well for me . I had been approved for student aid . When I withdrew my understanding was that the college would refund the ******* student aid for any tuition that had been paid. Unbenownst to me, it has not been paid back and now I am getting $73/month removed from my bank account monthly . After some research and a couple of phone calls with ******* Student Aid, I see that I do owe $1685 to student aid -which is the ONLY $ I ever received from them . Their records state that I owe several thousand dollars, which mean that CDI College owes that money to ******* Student Aid, not me . Last Thursday July 6th, I left 3 messages for various contacts at CDI and have not heard back from anyone . It is urgent that I get this resolved ** * ** *** ** * ********* ******** ** **** **** * **** *

I am a full time student with CDI, I work full time I am trying to get an education. This college has been nothing but problems. They do not give you information, but say they do. So I have a list of problems since I began in January 2023. First is they told me it is an accredited course, I am waiting for proof of that. I can not find accreditation anywhere, they have told me it is before I started, while I am enrolled but with no evidence. I have had so many tech issues with the software, I had a entire week I could not access books, get logged in for attendance, or do my work. The tuition is high, which is fine if the courses you take are included. We started our community service diploma, they said you have to pay for these your self and submit receipts for reimbursement. Here is the catch, they do this right before the remaining student loan pays the final tuition, so you do not get your money back. I asked why we weren't told about this my contact said you were, I was not. I asked other students if they were I formed, they were not. I wanted to buy my text books, they will not give me the list just a run around, the best part is the online books they force you to use are drastically marked up. I sent them emails with the paper books price and it is 700 less then the on**ne books. I sent prices of the o li e books, they cost about 500 they are taking almost 2000 dollars. I asked for the person who can give me the Information about text books and was given a cryptic email saying we don't require paper books you get the book you need every course. My gf has completed a bachelor degree and mid way through a masters degree online, guess what they get list of text books to buy. I asked why the are over charging students for the institution to make financial gain and burden students. I was told email finance department. I made a formal complaint to the education coordinator almost a month ago no response. I want future students to know they rip you off and try to hide it.

I received a diploma in the addiction and social services from CDI, and am finding out that this diploma is not worth anything towards any sort of job in the field of addictions or social services, which being that is what is printed on my diploma, I would think there would be some sort of advantages? But there are none, I would start anywhere at the bottom, with no more advantages than if I had just walked in off the street, and then I also wouldn't have this student loan over my head.. All the job postings I am seeing in either field require a bachelor's degree of some sort as they list in their job postings, and looking into that, what I have is not valid towards any sort of upgrading, as colleges do not recognize it as anything either.. to everyone it seems like it is nothing, that is the response that I am getting. In fact the treatment center I did my practicum at, which CDI college placed me in, has just recently posted a listing on indeed for the job I did for my practicum and they list a higher post secondary requirements for that job. How could I be placed in a practicum towards my diploma for a job that I would never be able to attain once I had that diploma I was working towards? Needless to say I am not happy with my results, and my experience with CDI over all.. I find that I was placed in that practicum situation being fraudulent, and I find the whole situation just does not sit well with me, what did I pay for? When I have no advantage over the person next to me who has nothing? When I would have been better off just walking into some place to see where I could start and be ahead of where I am now? And I also quit my job to do this practicum, so living off savings and credit cards to get by... I put myself through this in the expectations that I could have a path forward, some advantages, but I get nothing Not only is the diploma worth nothing, but I would be in a better position never having done it. -****** ** ***********

I am rejecting this response because: their response was to say workplace requirements change, and offered to aid me looking for work, their response has made it clear that the education that they supply has not kept up with industry standards and requirements which is the issue, I can get a job, but with the same ability as someone just walking in off the streets, this education is nothing, it counts for nothing and it gives nothing career wise or towards further education in the field either.

      it is literally nothing

I registered with cdi for online cyber security course and did only one day orientation and asked them to withdraw me from course. Now they are contacting me to get 33% of the course total which would be around $10000 approximately. And the college is saying if not paid will go to collections. The reason being the course they were offering does not guarantee any jobs compared to government accredited colleges that's not what i was told at time of being registered for the course. The college representative had told me that I would easily make over ****** yearly after completing course that's not what I found after starting first day of course and I didn't continue any further. I had also informed the representative from the college many times.

I would like to know why a college is sending documentation to the collection agency. I received an email in January stating that my balance is $0.00. In that email it states that they refunded me money for not finishing my course. Then I received an email on may 23rd stating I have an outstanding balance of $1329.00. Apparently they have tried contacting me several times.

I registered for a program at CDI, student loan funds were not released until my first day of classes (had I attended) within the loan I was given money for a laptop and so I could not perform my studies without one. I had an instructor emailing me disrespectfully, saying unprofessional things and being condescending towards me, i than responded back alarming her of these behaviours and such, I than decided this was not somewhere or from whom I wanted to waste a loan on getting an education in which I know will fail due to the lack of professionalism the instructor lacked. I backed out of the program, did not start nor download books etc, I received an email this morning saying I owe them almost $3000 for such things. I am looking to file the complaint to waive any fees due to the fact I did not attend or start any classes and this institution should not have a right to charge anyone such high money for doing nothing, and prevent it from going to collections because it’s not a low amount of money it’s extremely high again for nothing. Thank you

In September 27th, 2021 I started my diploma program with CDI College for supply chain and logistics. The course was around $12k. I got $9,966.91 in loans from nslsc and $24,039.91 ****** I was not suppose to pay the $24K back. In fall of 2021 i got notified that i need to submit my tax information to my ***** wont convert to a loan. I tried to contact the school NUMEROUS times with no answer. I was new to Canada and had no idea what to do. In spring 2022 I got notified again to submit my documents. I went into the school and they say i had to book an appt to visit the financial advisor and when i did again multiple times no one would answer there phone and they said only a phone appt was allowed for this. I graduated in September 2022 and my grand converted to a loan now i owe $34,006.82 which is not my fault. CDI also false advertises and takes advantage of new comers that dont know much about the system in canada. I have 2 kids under 2 and now have to pay almost $400/month. Please let me know what you can do. I cant afford this and i was told i can pay as little as $5/month by staff at CDI college to repay my loan which is untrue.

I became a CDI student for the school year of 2022 and didn’t feel as though I was getting the education that I was promised (we had very bad instructors and were charged for school books we didn’t use or get a physical copy of among other things). I was funding my studies through **** the total amount for the course was around $13000 but I decided to drop out the course due to the reasons listed above and attempted to make sure i had no further financial obligations to the school other than my **** loan. I was told everything was good I was withdrawn from the course and the second half of the loan wouldn’t be released because I wasn’t going to be finishing the second half of the course. I am now getting emails regularly from CDI saying I have an outstanding balance of about $6000. After many attempts at trying to reach someone at CDI I was told that I was withdrawn too late (after the halfway mark of the course) and therefore owed the full amount. Which I strongly disagree with for many reasons, the first of which is that none of this was ever mentioned to me at any point including when I brought up my concerns and notified them that I wasn’t interested in continuing the course well before I was actually withdrawn. I believe that the school purposefully took their sweet time to withdraw me from the course so they can charge me for the full year. After speaking with other students, reading their reviews and lawsuits that have been made against the school I now believe this to be the case even more so as their treatment of students have been questionable to say the least. The school has made zero effort to correct this, I’ve made countless phone calls and emails and mailed a letter only to be ignored I don’t know what else to do I can’t afford to pay so much money for an education that I did not get. I am continuing to pay off my **** loan but it is unfair that the school is springing new charges on me that have no validity to them I just want this to be resolved.
