    Pattern of Complaint:

BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning service and repair issues. Specifically, consumers allege that the company is unable to properly diagnose and repair appliances effectively, there is a lack of follow-up and resolution to issues, and the cost of parts is grossly inflated.

We have also noted the following situation in many of the disputes filed through BBB:

Consumers are advised by the company that a service call will cost $80 however, once the service technician arrives, that amount is increased to approximately $300 to diagnose the issue. The consumer is then told the appliance can be fixed and they are given a repair agreement which outlines the cost of labour. When the document is signed, the work begins and upon further inspection new parts are required and the repair quickly escalates in price. In many cases the repair suggested to the consumer is ineffective and the appliance is still not in working order.

In July 2019, BBB submitted a written request to the company encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints. BBB has not received a response to date.

In December 2022, BBB staff reviewed the information on file and determined that the pattern of complaints had not been resolved.  BBB continues to receive a high volume of complaints similar in nature.

BBB offers the following tips when choosing an appliance repair company:

Research the company online - Check to see how long the company has been in business and if previous customers have had a positive experience.

Contact the manufacturer - Most appliance manufacturers have authorized service technicians that have received specialized training on their products. You may also wish to confirm there are no recalls on the appliance and that parts are still available.

Confirm the pricing - BBB suggests consumers confirm what is included in service fees. Does it include diagnosis of the issue, and will it be credited back if you decide to go ahead with repairs, etc.?

Ask about warranties - Check to see if the company offers a warranty on the parts or service. Often this will show whether they are confident that the repair will work.

Check BBB.org - Visit bbb.org to find a BBB Accredited appliance repair company.

I paid for a parts to be installed in my fridge I did not get. The company is an online company. I am not sure exactly where they are located. They claim to have replaced a defective motor damper for fridge. According to another company, the motor damper was never changed. They charged me $647.61 for that part. This occurred on Jan 10th. The issue did not get resolved. Then on March 7th, they claim to have replaced the fan . That cost came to $463.54. They now claim it is the motherboard. Another company technician confirmed that the motor damper was never changed.

This was our second mistake, we agreed to pay as the Technician informed us that that would be the final cost of the repairs so we agreed. We are very disappointed that our oven failed after less than five years and the oven was well maintained but was not used very often. We missed using the oven and after two weeks decided to accept the loss on the repairs so far and just replace the stove.

Our dryer broke. They gave us a quote of $741.51 and said it might require a part but probably not. When I complain that I could buy a whole new dryer for that amount the representative said we have a good dryer that is worth getting fixed and it will probably last many years afterwards and that would probably not take any further parts. After three visits they could not fix it and then quoted an extra $800 plus for a new part which would increase our payment to over $1500! For that we could’ve bought a good quality new dryer. They refused to refund the money that we first paid of $741.51. They should not have quoted that they could fix it in the first place!

Service was done Jan 17, 2023. The price for parts is almost 10 times the price you find online (they charge $280 for a part you can find online for $35). Since you have already paid $300, and not the $80, they pretty much trap you to finish the job with them. They charged me almost $800 for a microwave repair, and made excuses *** **** why it would be so much.

I contacted the A Team Appliance Repair at the end of December and a service technician came to my home on Dec 28. I was quoted $768.17 to repair my ******* fridge (parts, labour and taxes). I was also quoted $530.42 to repair my ****** dryer. The service technician was at my home yesterday with the necessary parts and completed the repairs to both appliances, at least so I thought. However, the fridge is still not working (status of dryer not known). I was unable to reach the technician so I called customer service. They promptly stated that a note on file indicates that should the fridge not work, another part will have to be ordered. They further explained a compressor STARTER was replaced but now I also need a COMPRESSOR! *** ****** ***** *** **** *********** ** ******* ** ** * ************** ******* **********  This entire experience has been very upsetting and I will do everything within my rights to resolve the matter to my satisfaction. Thank you for your time.

On Dec 24, I called the company for a same day service call to fix a washing machine. They quoted an $80 charge, which would be cancelled if we decided to proceed with their repair service and a new quote will apply. Two technicians arrived that evening. They inspected the washing machine and within a few minutes said they could fix it. Charge would be $290+tax. I agreed, and the technicians proceeded to work. Within a few minutes, they said that the machine actually had defective parts including the motor, and the total cost for the parts would be $565+tax. They said the required part was in stock, and if I paid for it right away, they can order it, and the repairs could be completed after Christmas within the same week. I agreed and paid. I didn’t hear anything back for 2 weeks and called them. I was told that parts were now “on the way” and was given a date of Jan 11. Technicians arrived on the day, worked on the washing machine for roughly 30 mins, and told me they had fixed it and asked me to pay the remaining balance of the bill. I said I wanted to check the washing machine first and saw it still wasn’t working and had the same issue for which I had called them, i.e. it wouldn’t start. The technician said I had to unplug the washing machine for 30-60 minutes, as it’s needed for reset to complete, and it should then work, and left. I waited 2 hours to plug it back in and it still had the same issue. I immediately called the company to tell them, and the customer service person said that the technician had put in their notes that there was another part that needed to be changed, and this part would cost me approximately $400+tax. I told them why would I then have been told it was fixed, and it was getting absurd, as I would now be spending almost $1,500 on repairing a washing machine. They said there was nothing they could do, and if I wanted to proceed with the repairs, I would now have to buy the new part from them, otherwise they couldn’t do anything.
