Taking your money out is a Herculean Task. I opened multiple registered and non-registered account with Questrade, considering low commissions and ease of opening/managing accounts. However, over the time I have learnt that they are good as long as you are investing money. As soon as you try to withdraw any money, they will show you their true **** face. So, all the money you are investing is for them. They will make your life miserable if you try to request to withdraw any funds. The recent incident happened when I tried to withdraw funds from a family RESP account. We had another RESP from which we were receiving EAP for last three years. This year, we decided to take out EAP from Questrade RESP and they declined our withdrawl request, citing that we cannot withdraw money in the first year. I provided them all three years proof of enrollments and even proof that ** *** has received three EAP payments from another RESP, they still declined. ** *** **** ** **** ** ******* **** ********** **** ****** ** **** ** ******* **** * ****** *** *** ***** ******* ***** ***** *** ***********

I found out later that Questrade ended up giving me the ******** ***.* shares ( the trade almost double the daily volume of the ADR! ). ** *** ****** ** ****** I was charged $450 USD for this incorrect trade when purchasing the *** shares myself would have only cost me $4.95 !!! ...this is not the first mistake. ******** ******** * **** ** ****** ** *********** ******* *****

********* ******** I invested in a joint margin acct. after starting a RRSP and TSFA. The latter converts your Canadian funds into American automatically. The margin does not so it is considered a loan with a high rate of interest of 13%. They charged me shy of 5000.00 ****** * ******** *** ********* ********* ******

Questrade ** ********** in their after hours trade practice, which if trades not executed within the later hours upto 8.00pm est should be cancelled. Questrade queues these trades and will hold in queue and execute next day morning to their advantage if the asking price significantly drops under your limit stated, if the stock price goes above the limit will not execute. **** ***** ******** ********* *** ****** **** ** ********* ** ** ********* *** ************ ********* ********* ****** ** ************ ** ***** ***** ** * ***** ****** ******* *** ***** **********

Deceptive practice around margin accounts. Funded an account with CAD and immediately purchased a USD stock in the same amount. Come to find months later this was treated as a borrowing of USD at double digit interest rates that I was purportedly advised of via pop-up while doing the trade. Cute how they can charge usurious interest rates on the "borrow" yet pay nothing on the "deposit"

The Questrade Estate dept has no phone number, which appalling since questions can be easily clarified via a phone call. All the other financial estate dept reached me by phone. I have been waiting since Feb 28, 2022 since my wife passed away for the her estate to be settled. It is now Sept 9 and still nothing has been settled. I have sent various emails to the Estate dept looking to see what the delay was. They just said to wait and wait and wait. One email from Questrade stated that there were odd shares to sell and wanted to know to which account the money should go. Why wasn't this mentioned before in a form with a list of decisions that had to be made? In some cases, unless I initiated an email to see what was happening, I would not have known that there was a problem. The customer service is abysmal in trying to get answers. Also, you are not allowed to speak to any supervisor if the person does not know the answer to your question. Is this any way to run a business? If I did not have so much money invested in Questrade, I would leave immediately. Too bad one could not pick zero stars for this company.
