1 starI bought new crate engine 350zz6 from gm . Flywheel wasn't balanced and caused damage to starter and flywheel. Tried getting it fixed under warranty but today gm canada said they will not replace under warranty . This engine was installed by a professional engine builder but because it wasn't installed by a gm dealership they will not warranty the defective parts that came with car , assembled by their so called experts at gm . This is a assembly issue by gm not by installer . *** ******* ****** *** **** ******** **** ** ** *** ** ***** **** ******* *** ***** ********* The engine has roughly 200 kilometers on engine and had problem from day one with starter. As well as gm canada not honoring warranty I took the car to ********** brantford ontario where service manager said it's under warranty and will fix but since that service manager was fired and new service manager ***** said he's not touching this car because his guys dint know how to fix older cars 1973 ***** ********* . 1 star2024 Chevrolet RST 1500, leased vehicle, 11000kms on the truck, lost reverse in the transmission and engine light and reduced power on February 7, 2025, control valve body issue in the transmission, have been told that the parts are not available, have called countless times to the customer care, no resolution, they offered $2000 towards a new vehicle, have since been told to contact the leasing department and have not heard back from one of their managers as was told would happen, 4 lease payments later and the truck continues to sit at the dealership, no part in sight.Review fromDan A

1 starGM does not stand behind its products. I have had several issues pop up from. Cosmetic issues to oil leaks and most annoyingly Brakes that continue to fail early. It seems to be a well known issue and even has a service bulletin issued but no recall on the issue. 4 sets of brakes in 2 years I’m over it and they don’t consider it even worth allowing me to speak to management at the customer service department. Do better GMC, I’m trading my vehicle in as soon as possible.Review fromGianni D

1 starI purchased a New Cadillac Lyriq and less than 24 hrs I had a major issue with the breaking system (one pedal breaking). The system failed and was brought back to the dealership to be analyzed and corrected. (Remember less than 24hrs of purchasing a NEW Cadillac). GM headquarters was notified about this issue as well. After having to wait almost two weeks for a replacement part which was on back order and with NO ETA, After a long wait I received my vehicle back which the problem was resolved (so they said!) TRUSTING the process and still trying to be excited, I moved on from the situation, BUT not even two weeks later I was inches away from a major accident getting onto the highway with kids in the vehicle because the one-pedal breaking system had failed AGAIN! I immediately notified the dealership and GM headquarters. The dealership had the SECOND attempt to fix the issue which they originally said they "fixed". Now at this point I have 100% lost all confidence in this vehicle without a doubt and rightfully so when GM has put me and more importantly my children at risk of Safety! As a solution, GM wanted to offer me a small cash rebate for the warranty I had purchased, to make up for the almost catastrophic issue. Nancy, who was an Executive Review Rep from the GM headquarters, was in charge of my case and made this offer via phone and said it would be dealt with at the dealership level. She had FAILED to mention that along with this small compensation, there was a Legal "release" document that I was required to sign, to waive ANY and ALL responsibility from further incidents involving this failure, even if the system fails again on any level they would NOT be responsible under any circumstances. I then spoke to Nancy from GM again for the fourth time since the first occurrence to explain how unacceptable and offended I was for them trying to completely wash their hands of any current and future responsibility by trying to get me to sign a Release form.Review fromLaureen P

1 starDo not buy a Chevrolet Equinox if you live in a cold climate area. This morning for the 6th year in a row my turbo air intake froze and while driving on a highway where speed limit is 100km the engine powered down from 100 to 60km in less than 5 seconds. the semi truck behind me used its Jakes and locked its brakes to avoid rearending me or hitting the cars in the lane next to us. He missed my car by inches, ******* **** **. I limped my car to the dealership still shaking from the near miss. ******** Chevrolet had to replace this part last year because it cracked, said they repair it as per Chevrolet requirements and there is no fix for the issue at this time. I called Chevrolet Canada to be told since it is off warranty, there is nothing they can do. This is a part they know has problems and they don't care. Had I been hit by the semi at that speed I wouldn't be here, but that isn't Chevy's problem because there is no warranty. They have done nothing to fix the issue and are still putting this turbo in the new models knowing that this happens. Now I have to wait to see what I owe again this year to fix this problem and chevy keeps putting the part in new vehicles. ** *** **** **** ******* ******* *** **** **** ** *** *** * ********* *********Review fromFarrukh S

1 star***** **** **** ***** ** * ****** We purchased a new truck from GM in November 2022, and it’s been nothing but headaches ever since. 18 months in to owning the truck, and mid May 2024 we took it in to the service centre at ***** ********* ** *******. It has been sitting there ever since “waiting for a part” that is apparently on back order, with no estimated arrival date. Thanks to our warranty, ironically we’ve been driving a rental ***** truck in the interim, and have had no issues. Six weeks later, we still have no answers, and have now had to cancel summer plans as our rental truck can’t tow our holiday trailer. * ** ********* ************ ** *** **** ******** ******* ** **** ******** **** *** **********. We reached out to GM Canada, and after assuring us they’d have some kind of answers or a solution for us within 72 hours, we were disappointed, again, 3 days later when they claimed they were still waiting to hear back from the dealership. We’re paying for a vehicle we can not drive for over a month now, and in addition to that can’t even use our holiday trailer because we put our faith in a truck company that we clearly can’t rely on. GM Canada needs to do better! Either produce reliable vehicles, and replacement parts (what a concept?) or provide PAYING customers with alternative vehicles that are equivalent to the ones we own that are sitting in your service centres across the country. After this experience, I will never buy another Chevrolet vehicle again!
