I had my very important math final through WGU scheduled for today. For the first time ever, they had me use this new service called Proctor U. I downloaded it ahead of time and checked all my system requirements. Everything passed. Today at testing time, the browser started disconnecting me repeatedly during the part of the exam where it videos you showing your calculator and whiteboard. I tried to contact a live person to help....it put me in as 19th in their queue and disconnected me again. Mind you, I used to work from home as a tutor to **** and have the highest internet speed available in my area. I did another system check, Everything passed. Still can't get the Guardian browser to work. I have contacted my school and professor. I am not happy about this and better not be listed as a no-show. I see lots of other people on here with loads of complaints about Proctor U. They need to get it together. And if not I.hope my university finds a different proctoring service.Review from Raymond T

I had a scheduled exam on June 18th 2024 that was supposed to have begun around 12:10pm, if not for technical difficulties with the accessing of my Mac book air. Technical support came on board approximately ***** minutes later and intentionally dropped my connection citing that I had gotten up and left the testing area. Two concerns noted here was that I began the exam very late, and run by these lying sacks of ***.When you go to the refund request or if you need to submit a complaint, take a screen shot as the refund department asks for your email, but doesn't actually send you a copy of the refund request. In my second request, I'll be sure to screen shot and send a copy to the the credit card company along with my complaint. I also have yet to receive a response from the first refund request despite them saying a representative would be in touch in 48 hours. This company is a ******* joke.ProctorU Response

Took an exam through ProctorU today as my school forced us to use the platform. What a joke. First of all, I couldnt even understand the person speaking. Second, they took over my screen and started changing my Mac settings and downloading additional softwares that were never disclosed! Very sketchy. The person helping, *******, I believe was their name, sounded exactly like the scam callers that people deal with. I would not be surprised if these proctorU employees were also scammers. Totally uncomfortable with what happened after they took control of my laptop. The best part? Once they downloaded suspicious things and changed my settings, they dropped off the call!!!! This made me lose 45 minutes in total from my exam time and I had to totally start over with someone else. The second ******* person did a quarter of the checks that the first one did. No consistency but I am genuinely concerned the first proctorU, *******, was a scammer on the side based on all the system checks. She also thought it was funny to make me show the camera around my whole room for 15 minutes. I hope this company is shut down. I dont see any good reviews and a PLETHORA OF SIMILAR ISSUES!!!!ProctorU Response

Hello. A review of your exam session shows that the ******* changed your keyboard shortcuts for screen captures. This is a normal procedure to prevent exam theft while you taking your test with us. The application downloaded was the secure browser for **************** Systems, which is required for taking your exam. During the connection drop, the ******* had to re-establish your video connection.Review from Nickolas L

This is hands down the most terrible software I have ever been forced to use. I genuinely hate this software and it is RIDICULOUS that in this age we have to tolerate it. The techs are of no help at all and are so quick to abandon you to move on. Their software takes an otherwise functioning laptop and turns it into a brick that can not perform basic functions. It is truly a money farm and has been the worst experience of my educational journey.Review from Ron B

BEWARE. Red flags and alarm bells ringing throughout my proctored exam. SHAME on the organizations using ProctorU for proctoring their assessments.You are required to install a Chrome extensions that lets them pull all kinds of info from your PC, and there is no transparency as to WHAT they are looking at. Incredibly shady.They were LATE to my appointment. I connected 5 minutes early, but no ******* connected until 10 minutes after the appointed time. Then, when a ******* did connect, some sort of shell script started running in the background. WHO KNOWS what it's doing. These proctors probably have a second job at a scam center, they are incredibly shady af.This company uses a form of LogMeIn software. Straight out the gate a person takes over my mouse and starts messing with the desktop. Windows Settings is launched, and then the ******* messes with several settings, which were not reverted to their previous settings after the exam! What the hell!!Then, the ******* copy-pasted a wall of text signifying the 'rules of the exam'. I was asked 'do you accept', without getting the chance to read these rules, as they had already delayed the exam by 25 minutes!!THEN, and this is what drove me over the top and got me really infuriated, I was asked to place my phone behind me. I said, 'my phone is in a different room, charging'. GET THIS-- the ******* told me to go get it, and place it behind me ?????? LOL this company is run by a bunch of CLOWNSSSS!!I tried to protest and told the ******* about why I had to do all that when the phone is physically in a different room, the ******* becomes confrontational and asks 'do we have a problem?' and threatens to notify the assessor about it ?????? CLOWNSSSsss.I have taken many, many proctored exams and this is, by FAAAR the worst I have ever taken. I hope they go bankruptProctorU Response

Thank you for providing feedback regarding your appointment. Meazure Learning's Chrome Extension is a Chrome-approved extension, and it is used for exam security. The *** script detects unpermitted applications and remote access software. Proctors may change settings on a computer after recieving permission from the test taker. These settings are changed to further protect the exam content. Setting change information can be found here for Windows ***************************************************************************************************** and here for Mac *************************************************************************************************. For our professional testing exams, test-takers are required to show their cell phone placement. Test-takers may choose to end the session at any point by closing the chat box and browser. ProctorU is maybe the worst testing software ive ever used in my life. Im normally not one to leave reviews. But up there for one of the most frustrating experiences in my life. I have been trying to take a required placement exam for college on this terrible software and I have been connected for over an hour and a half and still have not even come close to taking this test.ProctorU Response

WORST PLATFORM EVER. Out of all the times I've used this awful platform, almost every single ******* I've had has been a terrible experience. I never write reviews but this is absolutely horrible. I am stressed out enough that I have to take an exam, but I am 100 x more stressed out just by waiting for the ******* to do their part (which many dont, and so they disconnect). Furthermore, it takes an additional hour EVERY EXAM because the ******* decides to disconnect or simply just does not know what they are doing. AND they dont care that they are WASTING MY TIME AS A I WORK 3 JOBS AS A SINGLE MOM. This platform needs to get shut down. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL.ProctorU Response

This is the worst proctoring software to ever ***** the earth. They hire people who lack basic computer skills and then expect them to help us get logged into the exam. It takes a MINIMUM of 2 HOURS to get logged into any given exam through this software! I dont understand why schools keep using it because it cant even do anything. How does your EXPERT mess up the exam for me before I even write it?! Every single week technical issues! When does the system ever not have technical issues?? Is it even designed to work?? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! FIX YOUR SOFTWARE OR REMOVE IT FROM THE MARKET! AND HIRE PROFESSIONALS FOR ****** SAKE! How can I have 5 different proctors before I am able to log into my exam because each one keeps accidentally doing something wrong and cutting the connection?! You guys have an average of 1 star and I dont know why that doesnt keep you up at night. Do better or keep your software in your room, under the bed, away from innocent students.ProctorU Response

Disconnections are usually linked to high CPU or RAM utilization or an unstable internet connection. The ******* cannot force your computer to have connection losses. Professional and academic organizations need to find a real company to administer their exams. With ProctorU, the hardest part of any exam is getting ProctorU's ancient and sloppy technology to work. I have a 35 minute exam I've been trying to take with these guys, and three hours into try to start the exam ProcotorU has so screwed up the whole process that I'm unable to take my exam.ProctorU Response
