            Complaint against Edwards Handyman Services Edwards Handyman Services has not honored the 1-year warranty stated on the attached invoice (INV0084) and reiterated in 2 different texts by the owner, Kyle Edwards. The owner has established at least 4 different dates and times to remedy the problems and has failed to show each time. The owner has not responded to my attempts to get in touch with him (texts and phone calls) in over a week. On June 30, 2021, I paid a $600 deposit and entered into a contract with the owner of Edwards Handyman Services to repair vinyl siding and soffit and to paint three columns on the front porch, with a balance of $1550 due upon completion of the work. The work was scheduled to begin on July 5, 2021, and was to be completed by July 6, 2021. The work actually began on July 12, 2021 (due to delays by Edwards) and was completed on July 14, 2021. An invoice for $1725 was paid on July 14, 2021 which included the vinyl siding and soffit repair, painting the columns and some additional work that included putting up a downspout that had come down. The invoice stated that there was a 1 year warranty on labor. The owner stated that he would return the next day to pick up and dispose of the large pile of construction debris and trash that was left in the middle of the carport. Within minutes of the owner leaving it was apparent that the downspout was not properly secured and was hanging loose from the gutter (see attached pictures). The owner was immediately called and he said he would fix it the next day when he returned to pick up the debris. When he did now show the next day, I sent him a text asking "Will you be able to pick up the debris and fix the downspout." He replied by text "Yes sir. I will be there about 8 in the morning to get it." When no one showed the next morning, I called the owner and asked if he was coming and let him know that a portion of the vinyl soffit that was repaired was also coming down (see attached pictures). He said he would come that afternoon. I then sent the owner a picture of the soffit that was coming down. The owner replied by text stating "Can I please come in the morning. Cause now I need to double check all my helpers work. And I still haven't left the job I'm at. I do have a 1 year labor warranty also I need to go over and make sure any other areas he did aren't going to do that too." I immediately replied by text stating "Okay but I really do need you to come in the morning." The owner replied by text "I will be there for sure. I'll be there no later than 11." The next morning no one showed or notified me they were not coming. He did not respond to my texts or voicemails asking if he was coming. The next Monday on July 19, 2021, I sent the owner another text asking if he still intended "to correct the defective workmanship that is covered by your warranty..?" The owner replied by text stating "Yes I'm not exactly sure what day yet but it will be this week... I will let you know tomorrow the exact date and time." The next night after no date and time had been provided I sent the owner a text asking "Is there a new date and time yet?" No response was received to this text so the next day, July 21, I sent another text asking "Is there a new date and time yet?" That night the owner replied by text with "Friday July 23rd at 10:30am." When no one showed up on that date and time, I sent the owner a text asking "Are you still coming?" The owner texted back that "I had an emergency on a job site. I'll call as soon as I'm done. But I swear I'll be there today. Cause I'm honestly ready for you to leave me alone." After no one called or showed up again, I sent the owner a text stating "It is after 8p.m. and you did not call or show up again. I just wanted you to show up and do what you said you would do." No response was received. On Monday July 26, I sent the owner another text stating "Kyle- All I want you to do is fix the soffit that started coming down 2 days after you were paid to repair it and secure the downspout that you were paid to put up. We spent 2.5 hours removing and disposing of the debris you left in the carport. Based on how fast you completed work in the past, this should take less than an hour. This will resolve our issues and we will be done." No response to this text was received. On the morning of July 29, 2021, I sent a text to the owner stating "Kyle, I am making one last attempt to try and resolve this between the two of us. Please find an hour to take care of the soffit and downspout." No response to this text has been received and no one has shown up to make the repairs covered by the warranty. Based on the above, I have exhausted all reasonable efforts to resolve this and am requesting the BBB to help me.
