I paid my rent on April 21st I the amount of $1521 and my payment wasnt applied to my account. Today, I received a 7 day notice saying I owe the amount of $1520.83. I need to know why my payment wasnt applied to my account when the leasing manager, **** called me April 18th stating if I paid my rent before April 23rd then the amount owed wouldnt change which was $1520.83. I have a recorded conversation of her stating this and I have proof of her calling me on April 18th. I also have proof of me making my payment of $1521 on April 21st since the office is closed on weekends.Business Response

Hi! 7-day notices were sent to our attorney on 4/10/25. They sent our office team confirmation, but upon investigation it turns out the attorney had an internal error where the notices were not served to the residents. Our attorney corrected the mistake and sent them out. You were late for the month of April, so you would still receive the notice for your records. We have in fact received your payment and it will be applied today. Thanks!Customer Answer

My lease ended and i was charged multiple charges in which does not make any sense.Charges range from 700 dollars to 50 dollars. upon leaving i know that all charges are included into the total pill each month. These additional charges are not factual and are gouging prices for things that are more simple and less of oringnal price.Business Response

Hi! Our new manager, *****, reviewed the ledger and all backup files. She found that we didn't have photos for a few of the charges and will be crediting those charges and issuing a refund. She was supposed to speak to this resident at 4pm today, but she never called. ***** did leave a message to connect and talk through any other concerns. Thanks!Initial Complaint

I am being extorted by a property management company. I moved to ******* in June of 2021. As my wife were selling our home and purchasing another home here in ******* we found an apartment where we could secure a four-month lease. Our purchase went through faster than anticipated and we communicated to the manager (*********************) at "******* at **************" apartments that we would be moving out early, and they would be able to show the unit to other tenants early. She responded that "we were only giving them 53 days notice, not 60 days notice" so they were going to charge us for an additional 7 days after out four-month lease expired. My response was that we gave them 120 days notice--we specifically paid a much higher lease rate for the ability to get a four month lease and everyone was in agreement from the onset. **************** made it clear that she intended to charge us for time that we did not occupy the property, that fell outside of our lease agreement. I let her know that I intended to pay for the full four months that I was legally obligated to, but that I would not be extorted to pay beyond that. I figured out what my security deposit would be, and I included that is part of my final rent payment. Carlyle at ************** was made 100% whole by me. They are now repeatedly filing false credit reports against me and my wife. Once the credit reporting agencies dismiss them (no merit), they file again with a different agency. ***************************** admitted that it was bogus, but instead of fixing it they continue trying to extort me for a few hundered dollars. These people are crooks!Business Response

***************** and ******************* moved into Carlyle Apartments Unit # **** on 6-18-21 on a 4 month lease as they were going to be moving into a house October 2021. They gave a 53 day notice to vacate to *********************, manager at ******* and **** mentioned to them they would be responsible to give a proper notice. On 9-29-21 the Longs paid their rent in the amount of $2,233.94 and immediately put a stop payment on the payment. The Longs claim the onsite team knew when they moved in they would only be staying until 10-17-21. On 10-1-21 they paid $863.79 as part of their rent and had a security deposit in the amount of $800. They wanted to use the $800 deposit and the check paid in the amount of $863.79 to cover their final rent in the amount of $1,663.79. The Longs made a complaint back in January *********************************************************************************************************** the amount of $421.13. I reached out to them to see what their complaint was regarding in which I reviewed their ledger and decided in good faith that they should not have a balance and at that time the collection company was notified to remove that from their account. On August 1, 2024 **** called my cell phone and I answered and we started up the same conversation we had back in January 2024 since he just received another letter from a different collection company claiming he owed the money. I spoke to **** again on August 2, 2024 and I discussed that I would get *********************** involved and contact the collection company and have them remove the collection from their account. **********;requested a clear-off for the account from ********************** billing this morning and requested a zero-balance letter from them as well. Just waiting to hear back from them Central Billing and will forward to ****.Initial Complaint

INFESTED WITH ROACHES. i see at least 15 of them in my kitchen every night. one time a ***** almost fell on my head from the ceiling. pest control has came at least 5 times already. i had to clear out my whole kitchen many times for them to come and do their job. in the past week i've collected about 50 of them in my vacuum. i can't even go into my kitchen and enjoy cooking a meal or washing my dishes because of how grossed out i am. they are coming out of the cracks in the walls, the power outlets, and the sink. they are also starting to migrate to my living room, bedroom, and bathrooms. its not livable and i am still paying $1500 every month. i asked to speak to the owner of the apartment to get some type of compensation and they would not let me.Business Response

*****, we had a new manager start at the beginning of July and she has not received any complaints from you over the last few weeks until you came into the office yesterday to complain of pests. The manager scheduled pest control to come and inspect your apartment and complete a premium treatment next Tuesday. According to our manager, you agreed with that next course of action. If there is something else we can assist with in the meantime, please let us know.

On July 12th 2024 there was an unfortunate shooting that took place in the ******** apartment community where 100 rounds were shot and a teenager died, whose body I sadly witnessed and heard screaming for help. The community outside lights surrounding and inside of the pool have not worked in who knows how long (has been reported with no correction) which made it difficult to see outside during the event when I had to call 911 to get help. One of those bullets went through my ****************************************************************** bed, we were advised by the detective who came to remove the bullet fragment from her room that the remaining pieces could still be somewhere in the bedroom. Maintenance placed a piece of a cardboard box to cover a piece of the broken and completely exposed window and It took 4 days to get the window replaced by the community which cause my apartment to be inhabitable in this 112 degree summer weather during these days and hotels had to be paid for. Since this incident my daughter has not been able to be in her bedroom due to fear. I have had to try to move to another residence asap also causing additional financial strains and this community has done nothing! I understand this issue was not directly the companies fault however there actions AFTER have been completely disappointing. No actions have been taken to help any of the residence suffering from this incident nor any security measures for the community as the shooter has NOT yet been apprehended. My family is traumatized and scared and havent been able to use the amenities of the pool or gym as this communal area has been an active crime scene! These issues have been voiced to the office staff multiple times but nothing has been done.Business Response

*****, we agree that this situation was very unfortunate. When you visited the office the next morning and spoke with our manager and Vice President, you mentioned you had already called your renters insurance company and they were getting you a hotel for the weekend to get you out of the apartment while the window was replaced. We called immediately on July 12th to have the window repaired. When the vendor arrived to fix the window, the police told them they couldn't get to the unit because of the crime scene being closed off. They did come back out on Monday, July 15th and made the repair needed after you returned from your hotel. If there is something else you need assistance with, please let us know.

Hello,
yes I have renters insurance and am currently battling with their lack of response currently regarding my claim for reimbursement for that hotel stay. What I am asking is what actions is the property management company doing for us residence that are concerned and scared regarding safety in this complex? What is this property management company doing for the residence who are impacted from this tragedy? A window fixing is not helping with fact that I have an entire bedroom in my apartment that is now a place of fear for my child!

*****, the day you came into the office after the incident you mentioned to our Vice President that you would be moving into a house in August. You asked if we would waive your last weeks as you would be turning in keys early and he agreed to that. We will let you out of your lease as discussed that day.Customer Answer

After reporting malfunctioning ** unit to the property manager several times, no resolution has been made. Maintenance has come out twice, replaced the filter, and charged the unit. Even once stated "anything else and we have to call an ** company put and they'll charge the property and they won't want to do that". I've lived with malfunctioning, rattling ** with the temperatures in my apartment reaching 90 degrees at 10pm at night with no resolution. We were told Saturday that either the ** company would come out Monday (Yesterday) or they would bring us a portable ** unit. Neither happened. My 9 year old son and I have a rare genetic disorder that causes heat intolerance.Business Response

Our Maintenance Supervisor changed the run capacitor and changed the filter because it was covered in cat hair from the original request. About a week later we received another call that it was not cooling again; however, the apartment was at 76 degrees when our staff arrived. Fire & Ice came out on Monday, July 15th and made repairs. They confirmed the unit was working and cooling fine. Please let us know if you run into any additional issues and we'll send our team out.Initial Complaint

During my residency there was a period of time that I lost an employment contract and I fell a bit behind in the rent. Paperwork was filed; however, the payment was made in full prior to the court dates and I was informed that it was deemed satisfied and there would be no negative **** listed as an eviction. Fast forward to me attempting to leave this place and attempting to purchase a house these negative ****s show up from third party source Realpage when Western Weath was owners of the property as an eviction. I was never evicted. I am in fact still in the property wanting to leave but having a difficult time as these erroneous records exist on my profile. I am asking that they be removed immediately. I have tried to contact the company but only get voicemails and no return calls. I sent emails to known parties who were with the company when they owned the property but there has been no response; however it is possible that those parties are no longer with the company. I would like this resolved so that o can move on. When ***** was here she assured me that since this was taken care of before the court date and there was no judgment there would be nothing on my file and that hasnt happened. Please removed.Business Response
Date: 07/09/2024
We do show record that you paid at the end of the month every month. We filed an eviction every month and typically a judgement was given in our favor and then you paid. I believe once there is a judgement it still shows on your record even if you pay (not 100% sure). We will reach out to our attorney to see what can be done as perhaps new management never removed the dismissal and find out what shows up on your record.
***** confirmed that she received an email from you yesterday asking for a call; however, the number provided was not a working number. ***** will be emailing you back to get a good number for you and provide an update on what she finds out from the attorney.Initial Complaint

A Radon device was to be installed on June 28, 2024 between the hours of 9a-5p if not a $500.00 charge will be made. Nobody was home during the morning/late afternoon. Upon arrival, we noticed no device was installed, I've contacted the leasing office via email on the app on Friday around 4:45pm on the 28th in regards to the radon device and had no response. I've sent several emails to the property management team and made several phone calls. I left a voice mail July 1st and yet to have a response.Business Response

I moved in the unit around December of last year 2023, I discovered the fridge went out first it took them a month to get another one which it was from another unit that was empty. I informed the property manager at the time and told her the issues with all the appliances showed her pictures as well she stated that the appliances should be new and I stated that they arent and was outdated, Then around January or February of this year New owners took it over, I put in requests of the bathroom tub and shower has brown and yellow coming thru the paint it was covered with, I called the manager and have spoken with her 3 times concerning the issues with both bathrooms, she said send pictures and I did, Then she stated nothing could be done cause I was living there and couldnt be resurfaced, I then said something need to be done cause its disgusting I cant even take a bath and the smell of it is worse,I pay a lot of money to just be living in a unit that needs attention, The whole apartment needs to be doneBusiness Response

Unfortunately, this resident came into our office yesterday yelling and being disrespectful to our staff by cursing and calling names. We had to call the non-emergency line to make a report due to her behavior.
The resident and her roommate want to get out of their lease without paying the fees per their signed lease agreement. The maintenance requests have been handled and our manager and regional manager walked the apartment since the residents were so unhappy. During that walk, the only thing our manager and regional manager found was a dirty shower. We have no further action to take on our part.
