      We've contracted with Republic Service for recycling and trash pickup twice a week, but they've consistently missed at least one pickup every week. When we initially tried to cancel our contract due to these issues, they assured us they'd improve and fulfil their contractual promises, including on-time pickups. Unfortunately, they failed to keep their word the very same week. We've been reaching out to them via email, but our messages were ignored until we formally requested to terminate our contract, removed their trash bins, and asked for our deposit back. Following this, we received a phone call from a representative who claimed they had no record of any complaints regarding our trash pickup, despite our having both email correspondence and call logs as proof.

      We have spoken with the customer and have agreed that what is best for this customer is to terminate the service with them. Illegal dumping was the customers primary reason for the request to cancel. ****** (AAM) offered solutions by recommending locking up the toters but customer refused to take any responsibility or assist in the resolution. The customer has agreed to terminate January 31, ****. Paperwork is being submitted to close and remove RS equipment.

      Our neighborhood is on day 35 without trash service. Some say before Thanksgiving. I call every day and even messaged on ******** and stopped by their office. I just get excuses and empty promises.

      There is a truck making a personal trip to your area to service your container along with any neighboring container that looks to have been not serviced in that area.  There is a Supervisor riding with the driver to ensure top quality service.  ************ will be completed no later than 6 PM on 1/18/24.  A local staff member in our ********, ** office should have already contacted you or will be contacting you no later than 4 PM on 1/18/24 to issue a credit for the amount requested.  Due to various issues related to mechanical failures with your route truck and/or safety concerns with road hazards pertaining to winter weather conditions we apologize for our unintentional lack of service.  Moving forward we will work diligently to rectify these service issues and aim to provide consistent satisfactory service and/or communication of any delays to that service.

      We are an elderly couple who has been egregiously overcharged and taken advantage of over the past 5+ years. Trash bills that started out at around $100 per quarter have grown to over $500 per quarter. My wife unknowingly knew any better and just assumed that if they are sending us a bill we should pay it, where as a younger more savvy individual would not be so trusting. We are in our mid 70's and feel this to be grossly takin advantage of and also are wondering how many other senior citizens this happening too. When my daughter called to get a quote of what it costs for the same trash service using the neighbor's address we received a quote of $114 which is attached. My last bill which is also attached is $511.06 for the same services. We have called their customer service number and talked with multiple people and they are saying it is an open market area and can charge whatever they want. This is wrong and unethical.

      Customer received annual price increases since 2007 and there was no outreach during the length of the account concerning pricing. We offer rate rollbacks when and if a customer calls. This is an open market residential customer which means there is no contract, and they could cancel and switch to another provider at any time. We have spoken with the customer and agreed to issue a refund for percentage of charges. This has been agreed to by both parties and the issue is resolved.

      Dear BBB Representative,I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to file a formal complaint against Republic Services regarding the non-pickup of my trash for several months despite being a paying customer.I have not received ********************** pickup services for an extended period, and to make matters worse, I have refrained from paying my bill due to the lack of service provided. This situation has caused significant inconvenience and frustration on my end.I am formally requesting a full credit of my account balance, as well as the removal of any collection account associated with this matter.       Spoke with ********************** on Jan 19,2023.  ********************** stated he has not received any services from Republic Services over the last 3 months.  I asked ********************** to confirm his assertion that his complaint is that we have not serviced him for Trash, Recycle or Bulk services in the last 3 months.  He states that is correct.  I advised ********************** that 3 trucks weekly at different times service his community.  I advised ********************** that we have not received any service complaints submitted in the last 3 months from him or anyone at this address.  I advised **********************, that I can confirm that all trucks and commodities have serviced his community in the time frame he stated and there are no recorded service failures.

      Republic Services has provided services to the listed address contrary to the customer assertions.  ******************** does not have any service complaints or recordings from the customer confirming and previous ******************** issues.  Republic Services has contacted the customer and advised the customer to contact us and report any service failures asap.

      I have been charged for services not received. During a call, the representative was unhelpful and unwilling to understand the situation, abruptly hanging up when I requested evidence of the alleged services. As this complaint is my initial step, my next actions will involve escalating the matter to the office of the governor and Clark County if I do not receive credit for the months without services. I am also taking appropriate measures to ensure the receipt of services going forward.

      Customer had no ********************** cans out for service today.  See images.  Recycle and Trash trucks approached home and took images of trash cans on the side of the house.  The customer has not reported any service failures to Republic Service in the past 120 days.   Republic Services maintains that service was available to the customer, was serviced and will continue to be serviced as long as the customer presents the ********************** cans for recovery as required.  The requirement by the city is to place the trash cans on a city street curb by 6am for recovery.

       The incident I mentioned occurred yesterday, as I was out of the city. However, my complaint does not pertain to the service on January 25; instead, I am referring to the lack of service in the preceding weeks and months. I am still requesting compensation, and I want to ensure, as of January 25, with pictures if possible, that my service gets picked up.

      They turned ** in to a collection agency for $157.73. They were good and then they did not pick up our trash after a while. We paid them in advance. We had another company to pick up the trash. I went out and sterilized the trash can and then they never picked it up. Finally they made an appointment to pick their trash can. I am not going to pay the $157.73. They lied to my wife repeatedly saying they were going to pick up our trash. I would like for them to take this charge off, to not bill me for this.

      We do not have trash pickup from this company. We have not had this service since May of 2023. We use to have service at ************************************************************************* and we thought the service was cancelled. We moved from ******************** in August of 2023 to ********, **. Never have service here. At our old address one of their trucks dropped off a trash can sometime in October of 2023 a neighbor called and advised us about this. we called Republic and notified them about this and assumed all was taken care of. Then in December 21, 2023 we get a bill for $130.15 due 1/9/2024. Called them again that same day . They claimed we had not cancelled service. That we had been put on seasonal service. I then asked them to cancel service and they said they would do this . I do not see why we need to pay them anything since we had no trash can at either address or service at either address since May of 2023.

      This is now the 2nd complaint against republic garbage. Unfortunately, our govt chooses our garbage service and we have no say, I dont have an option to shop anywhere else they have a monopoly its either pay them or no garbage service at all. They did not show up on a very cold day, we all still have to go to work I did, I dont get to stay home. The crows got to our garbage because they never showed up and also never alerted us that they decided not to pick up. Garbage is all over the street. Now it wont get picked up until next week. Because of this, I refuse to pay this month. I have to clean up after them and I fully pay for a service they are now not offering. But I still have to pay? No. Please ensure they pick up my garbage when they are supposed to and I get a refund for this month. This is the 2nd time now. I wish I could use someone else but then my family and children have no garbage pick up. They are the worst.

For today's solution, I am sending one of my Supervisors to your service address in a small pick-up truck to observe the area and to also collect the trash that you have out.       I received this random bill from Republic Services that is fraudulent. I have never had service with this company. I have never signed up with them. I have never called them. I bought a home at this address on January 29, 2023. I emptied all my garbage myself, including once driving to a local dump. At no time I entered into a contract with this company or ever even got a dumpster from them. I rented this house out on October 4, 2023, and am not sure what the tenant did. Interestingly though, they claim they provided "one unit" of garbage hauling between 1/31/23 and 6/30/23. This did not happen.Dear Republic, show me where I signed up as a customer and when you actually dropped off a bin for me. Since you didn't, you can't. If a tenant signed up after October 4, your issue is with them.Please cancel this bill and this account, or you will be taken to court for fraud and identity theft.Have a great day.

      ***************** mandates trash service. It is not voluntary and there is no requirement to sign a contract. It is the owners responsibility to contact Republic Services when purchasing a home to start billing and request carts if needed. During an audit, the property was found to not be in billing per ownership on Clark County Assessors website.

      Please reference the ********** Ordinance 9.08.210 - Mandatory serviceBillingsPenalties
      (A) To ensure the uniform, safe and sanitary treatment of solid waste in the City and to discourage the illegal handling and disposal of solid waste, it shall be mandatory for any person owning, occupying or managing any premises in the City which are connected to an electric utility service to subscribe to solid waste collection service provided by the City or its authorized franchisee and to pay the charges specified in this Chapter. No person may discontinue paying for solid waste collection service for his or her premises, unless such premises are not connected to an electric utility service for the entire billing period.(B) In order to discontinue paying for solid waste collection service pursuant to Subsection (A) of this Section, a person must request discontinuation of service and provide proof that no electric utility service to the premises is provided.  

      I've requested a power verification from ** Energy during the dates of ownership. If they respond with no active power during a full billing cycle we will be happy to issue a refund. Otherwise, all charges are valid.

      Regarding Republic Services providing service, both a trash truck and recycling truck is there 1 time a week on Tuesdays as well as a 3rd truck to pick up any bulk left at the curb every other Tuesday. If there is no trash or recycling placed out for service, they continue on to your neighbors in your community.

      Um, you scour property records to charge people you did not service. None of what you said allows you to bill for services that you actually did not provide. You billed me for garbage collection you actually did not do. You backbilled 11 months.

      Sure, you are free to bill me. But don't claim you provided services. It's fraudulent to bill me for what you didn't do, which is obvious by the line items you charged me for.

      Thank you for your response. You are correct, we do conduct audits for new ownership to ensure we comply with the ordinance as we are required to do.  

      Regarding the service,it is provided for trash or recycling placed at the curb on the scheduled service day, once per week. Whether or not you have trash or recycling out for us to service, the trucks are there weekly as required.

      The title company has submitted payment from the close of escrow, you will be issued a refund in the amount of $244.99 to the payment method used, **** card ending in ****.

      Weekly trash pickup I pay for weekly trash pickup and they skipped are neighborhood after repeated calls no reason why was given now trash cans set out by the road for whole week causing an eyesore they take our money but dont provide service

      Bulk Pickup is Tuesday and Friday for my residential area. I called Republic Services on Monday 1/08/2024 to inform them I would be leaving a loveseat at my curb for pickup on Tuesday 1/09/2024. I informed them that I live in an *** ****************** and that it needed to be picked up or I would be fined by my ***. I was assured by the ******** Service Agent that it would be since Tuesday was my regularly scheduled Bulk pickup day and I was calling in advance to let them know to come get it. I put the loveseat out that night to be picked up on Tuesday as scheduled. Tuesday arrives and I called because it was still there and was told that pickups are done between 7am and 7pm and that the driver is aware and will pick it up. A member of the *** Management Team came by and I informed him it would be picked up by Republic. Tuesday progresses. It is now late in the afternoon approaching evening so I call Republic AGAIN and was again told that the driver is aware and will pick it up before 7pm. I was guaranteed the driver knew and would be by to get it before 7pm. I had to leave for a meeting. I returned home after 9pm and the loveseat is still there. Republic never did their job that they were paid to do and chose not to pick up the loveseat. Now I have to dispose of the loveseat myself in the middle of the night somehow before Wednesday arrives to avoid getting fined from my *** for having the loveseat at the curb in my assigned parking spot and parking my car in a visitor's spot because I can't use my assigned spot because the loveseat is there and wasn't picked up as REQUIRED. I disposed of it so I didn't get fined and was injured doing it. I called Republic this morning Wednesday 1/10/2024 and was told that I could have left it there and someone would have been dispatched to get it because it wasn't picked up yesterday when it was SUPPOSED TO BE picked up. I informed the agent I didn't have that option. I had to have it gone BY today or get fined. I want my situation to be addressed and Republic to make things right with me and to punish the negligent driver that decided not to do his job. There is absolutely no reason for this to have happened. If for some reason the driver couldn't make the pickup I should have been contacted and informed that but I never was. EVERY AGENT I spoke to was given my call back number. Now, I was hurt disposing of something because the people PAID to do it CHOSE not to do their job. I pay my water and sewer bill every month through my *** Fees. I want accountability for Republic choosing to not do their job and me being injured as a result of that decision.

      The customer originally called under the pretence of being a Residential Customer for the bulk.  His HOA is actually set up for Commercial dumpster collection with Republic Services.  Under the Commercial services, all waste must be containerized including bulk items.  The bulk request should not have been scheduled as Residential service.  The customer did state that he is a resident that lives in ****** in a townhome that has ****************** but other owners have received Residential bulk pickup before.  The local Republic office is in the process of establishing protocol to accommodate residents within HOAs that subscribe to Commercial collection a Residential bulk option via a Supervisor site visit.  We did communicate with the resident and he did indicate that he had already disposed of the bulk item not using our commercial dumpsters on property.
