This complaint is regarding a **** takedown notice for media on the website camvideos.me (namecheap hosts this domain)The Ticket ID of this case is SKM-925-***** The **** notice was given April 5th, 2024 and was followed by an automated response from namecheap. However, no update has been given for this ticket, nor has any media been removed from the aforementioned website. The issues has not been resolved.Initial Complaint

I purchased a hosting account in March 2024 that came with 50 free ssls. Today I tried to install one of those ssls and during the installation a popup window said it was installing then it never installed. When the process was completed another popup window mentioned the servers were undergoing maintenance, which they didn't say before I started this process. I went on chat and was told by **************, who was quite rude and refused to transfer the chat to anyone else, stated that "Namecheap does not honor those free SSLs anymore". I'd like my 50 free SSLs. And I'd like someone to reprimand this idiot for refusing to let me speak to anyone else.Initial Complaint

Namecheap is currently hosting a website that has stolen content in clear violation of copyright laws.The website has stolen content belonging to myself and many other people.Although, I have reached out to the company's legal outlet, the company has not meaningfully responded.If the company continues to dither regarding this important matter, I will report them to regulators and initiate a lawsuit against the company.Initial Complaint

On 3/29/2024 I reached out to Namecheap to request that my account with them be deleted. I spoke with a rep name ************** and told her that I would like to delete my account with ****************** due to someone cyber stalking me online and in person. I told ******* that I was in the process of removing myself from the internet as Im moving towards living 100% offline. ************** gave me a hard time and would not carry out my request. I asked for a manager several times and she did not get me a manager. She kept saying she would look for other solutions after I (the customer) already told her what I wanted to do and why I wanted to do so. Then she said that she would delete my account after I confirmed I wanted to do so. So, I confirmed and then she turned around and said, "Give us 10 minutes to check on your other services". I told her I do not have other services with Namecheap and the only thing I had with Namecheap was 3 domain names and maybe around 4.50 in funds on the account. I told her I didnt need the domains or funds and just prefer to have my safety preserved. This strange rep continued to give me a hard time and she would not do her job. Then ******* came back to the line and said that Namecheap wants to cancel the domains on my account and try to return the money to my account balance if possible. Now, there is no way to return money to my account as their is no card on my account. What ****************** was trying to do was cancel the domains, return the money to my account and then Keep the money for themselves. It's so obvious. I'm submitting this request to ask that Namecheap delete my account once again. I did not ask for Namecheap to cancel any domain names so that they could return a larger fund balance to my account after they delete it. Why would Namecheap even mention this after I said over and over that I didnt care about loosing the domains or funding left on my account once it was deleted. They automatically took out a payment (******) for a product renewal 30 days before it was due and then when I tried to resolve the issue and tell them I wasn't going to renew they told me it was too late to do anything about it.Initial Complaint

Dear BBB Org ,I am writing to file a formal complaint against Namecheap regarding the unjust suspension of my hosting account. I believe that this action was taken based on false accusations made by a third party, specifically my employer, and it has resulted in significant harm to my online presence and business operations.On 17/02/24, I received notification from Namecheap stating that my hosting account had been suspended due to a report alleging that I had engaged in fraudulent activities, specifically the theft of funds from my employer. This accusation is entirely baseless and without merit.I would like to bring to your attention the following points:False Accusations: The report filed by my employer is entirely fabricated and unsupported by any evidence. There has been no instance of fraudulent activity or theft on my part, and I can provide documentation to support my innocence.Lack of Due Process: Namecheap suspended my hosting account without conducting a thorough investigation or providing me with an opportunity to respond to the allegations made against me. This lack of due process is unacceptable and has resulted in severe consequences for my online business.Damage to Reputation and Business: As a result of the suspension, my website has been inaccessible to customers and clients, causing damage to my reputation and financial losses. This unjust action by Namecheap has disrupted my business operations and caused undue hardship.Request for Resolution: I request that Namecheap immediately reinstate my hosting account and provide compensation for the damages incurred as a result of the wrongful suspension. Additionally, I urge the *************** to investigate this matter thoroughly and hold Namecheap accountable for their actions.I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a swift resolution. On Feb. 2, 2024, my Discover card was billed for $16.06 for a domain name with Namecheap. I thought that this account was cancelled previously. I tried to cancel again using the phone and web, but was unsuccessful. When I called Namecheap, I am put on hold, then told to leave a message and then told they haven't received a valid response and they hang-up. When online, I was told, via chatbot, to login but, I could not. I was told to reset my password which I did and still I cannot log in. I asked to speak to someone for help and was told that the chatbot is fully qualified and was refused help from another source.The phone number for name cheap is ************. Website is Namecheap.com. I am reaching out for an assist on a refund and to prevent future billing. I have called the credit card company and requested to suspend future billing but, they can only do that for 1 year. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.Initial Complaint

Hello,I registered 25 domains with Namecheap and I started some blogs. I was using hostgator to host some html files. Namecheap banned my account. They said something like fraud/software. Most of the domains have the status clientHold.I began registering the domains 2-3 weeks ago an I only had about 100 htmls files, one css file and one png file per each website.The last 7 domains were registered a day before the ban. I only changed the nameservers and I had nothing on hostgator(no files). I got banned after one day just because I registered them.I tried to talk to them for about 2 days. They just say that they can not give details about the review and their decision is final . I asked multiple times how can I transfer the the domains but they did not respond. I have about 5 domains that don't have the status clientHold but it seems that those are lost too.
