In July of 2024 I took out a 50k home loan from achieve. They took ******* off the top and deposited ******. Since then i have made 8 monthly payments of ******. I requested a payoff ******** and it was *********. So far I have given them ******* and only paid off ****** of the loan??????This this feels shady. And they never say they are a loan company when you call but STRESS that they are a deb ************Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. ***** BBB concern. Review shows, Mr. **** was approved and agreed to a $50,000 fixed home equity loan with a term of 120 months. Origination fees are paid at the time of funding. Mr. **** has since made seven on-time payments bringing his principal balance to $48,463.66. The member was sent a 30-day payoff balance as requested that includes 30 days of interest and closing costs. The principal balance of the loan and the payoff are accurate. Mr. **** also noted that representatives do not state Achieve is a loan company. Achieve is a company that provides personal loans, home equity loans and debt consolidations. I was approved through them from freedom debt relief for a fast track to pay off all of the debt from my consolidation sooner. I spoke with a man over the phone and he gave me quotes for what it would be for the total debt I had enrolled in the program and was told obviously it would be different we continued on on that amount and went on. The debt is almost ***** lower and the loan payments didnt change they are insanely high for that much lower than the original debt program. I called numerous times wanted my calls played back was denied a note hit left on account apparently said he was aware of price change yes but at the total amount of debt not the revised one a revised one I never seen a contract to or never signed and also there are 2 or more accounts that are in my credit report still reporting balance and late payments this loan was to make sure those were all handled so seems like your contract is breached because what I was supposed to be paying for is incompleteBusiness Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to ***************** BBB concern. Review shows on September 26, 2024 Mr.***** agreed to and signed a contract for an Achieve Accelerated loan to quickly settle creditor accounts being worked on by Freedom Debt Relief, a partner of Achieve Accelerated loans. Mr. ***** was advised that the amount financed could change if the estimated creditor settlements increased or decreased. Mr. ***** was also advised that the payment could be reduced if the amount financed decreased but the payment would never increase from the bi-weekly payment of $590.12 which was agreed to on the contract. The amount financed did increase slightly but as agreed, the payment remained $590.12. We do encourage Mr. ***** to contact Achieve with any additional questions.Initial Complaint

Achieve Personal Loans sent me correspondence that my loan had been denied. Not only have I never heard of Achieve Personal Loans, but I have never applied for a loan with this company. This company has never informed me that they were taking out a loan nor did sign any documents requesting a loan. As a result my credit score and file has been adversely affected. I would like this adverse information to be removed from my credit report.Business Response

Review shows January 2, 2025 Ms.******* inquired about options for consolidating debt through a partner company with Achieve. Ms. ******* authorized the partner to review available options which included a personal loan. A soft pull of credit, which has no impacts to the consumers credit score, was authorized and processed during this period.Achieve was not able to provide Ms. ******* a loan to resolve the debt and a letter was sent detailing the denial reasons. There are no updates required at this time as Ms. ******* authorized the soft pull of credit and no hard credit inquiry was completed. On January 22nd 2025 I was notified by that a credit inquiry was preformed on my file.I went to my credit alert, Experian and saw a credit inquiry from a bank I did not authorize.I tried to call the number and was unable to contact with a live person.I never applied for any loans with this bank.Business Response

Review shows on January 25, 2023,Ms. ******** applied for a loan through ********, a third party marketing partner of Achieve, and was offered an invitation for a personal loan. *********** authorized a hard credit inquiry on January 25, 2023 but decided to decline the offer. An Adverse Action Notice was sent to Ms. ******** to advise of the withdrawal. At this time no updates are required as the January *******, inquiry was authorized. I contacted Achieve Resolution for their services. After getting a text message confirming date and time of my appointment, they were a no call/no show. This lead me to text the number I had received the appointment from. They called me immediately, mind you still 30 minutes late. After waiting on hold for 16 minutes without assistance, I texted the number again. I received an apology text saying my call was dropped and another call from them. Another 10mins on hold after being I would speak to someone. I texted again to be met with an un-subscription text. I can add text messages at a later time if necessary.Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. ******* BBB complaint. A fraud review has been completed which shows the account was not opened fraudulently. Information provided during the application verified to be Mr. ******* including the bank account, phone number, email address and creditor accounts paid with loan proceeds. The loan was opened March 8, 2022, and payments were made as agreed through March 15, 2024. Conversations were held with Mr. ****** regarding the delinquency of the account after this date until the date bankruptcy was filed. The loan was charged off and sold to a third party after the bankruptcy was dismissed.

On November 9, 2024 Achieve received multiple inquiries related to Mr. ****** interest to obtain a loan. An Achieve representative attempted to assist ******** with completing the application process however, the call was inadvertently disconnected and the multiple attempts to reach out to complete the process were unsuccessful. ********** immediately took over my loan when I got it four months ago. I have made an online payment on time every month. I receive a confirmation number for my payment, an email from ********** saying that my payment has been received, an email stating the payment has posted to my account, and money is immediately taken from my bank account (of course). About the second week of the month, I start receiving collection phone calls and letters saying I haven't paid my bill. Every month I am on the phone with them for an hour hearing every excuse about why my payment didn't actually post. One time they said it was because I had made a principle-only payment (which is a selection you can make) along with the regular payment and they weren't sure what to do with the money. One time, the person said they weren't sure why it didn't post. The next time it was because the representative I talked to the previous month didn't leave clear enough notes about the issue. This last time, the manager gave me a rambling story that I couldnt really make sense of, but he guaranteed that the issue had been fixed and it wouldn't happen again. Well, I am getting ready to make my monthly phone call to them.They do eventually post the payment, however they post the payment I made at the beginning of month at the end of the month after I have called them to complain. They remove late charges, but I think the are charging me the extra interest on the higher balance because the dont go back and post the payment for the beginning of the month like they should.Business Response
