Hello,I am trying to get access to my dashboard. I have had this loan over a year now and have been unable to access my dashboard. After numerous calls and emails to support, I just gave up.Trying this route now for resolution.Business Response

********** immediately took over my loan when I got it four months ago. I have made an online payment on time every month. I receive a confirmation number for my payment, an email from ********** saying that my payment has been received, an email stating the payment has posted to my account, and money is immediately taken from my bank account (of course). About the second week of the month, I start receiving collection phone calls and letters saying I haven't paid my bill. Every month I am on the phone with them for an hour hearing every excuse about why my payment didn't actually post. One time they said it was because I had made a principle-only payment (which is a selection you can make) along with the regular payment and they weren't sure what to do with the money. One time, the person said they weren't sure why it didn't post. The next time it was because the representative I talked to the previous month didn't leave clear enough notes about the issue. This last time, the manager gave me a rambling story that I couldnt really make sense of, but he guaranteed that the issue had been fixed and it wouldn't happen again. Well, I am getting ready to make my monthly phone call to them.They do eventually post the payment, however they post the payment I made at the beginning of month at the end of the month after I have called them to complain. They remove late charges, but I think the are charging me the extra interest on the higher balance because the dont go back and post the payment for the beginning of the month like they should.Business Response

I have been paying them however, they have on my dashboard right now it states, "81 days PAST DUE - $556.86, Past Due $185.62." $185.62 is what is due every 2 weeks. Their MATH doesn't make sense. In fact it is a BULLYING technique and it is a FALSE STATEMENT. It needs to be corrected. I have called and they seemingly for whatever reason REFUSE to fix it. Also, I was assured by the Company that I did my original debt consolidation with that this was to be a SIMPLE INTEREST LOAN. It is NOT a simple interest loan, it IS a compound interest loan. This needs to be corrected as well and the extra INTEREST that they have collected needs to be applied to my debt consolidation loan.Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to ****** Mattinglys BBB complaint. Research shows that the July 19, 2024, payment was made past the due date. This caused a late fee to assess onto the account. It appears that Ms. ********* did attempt to include the late fee onto payments made but because the payments were being made after the bi-weekly payment due date, the additional payment was posting to the delinquent and current payments due. No payment has been over 20 days past due and credit history has not been affected. The late fee reflected 81 days past due but late fees do not report to the *************. Multiple attempts have been made to contact Ms. ********* regarding the status of the account but without a response. As a courtesy the account has been updated to show the late fee as paid.
Review also shows that Ms. ********* signed a Simple Interest loan contract. A copy of the contract has been sent to ************ for her records.

I am writing to warn others about the predatory and unethical practices of Achieve Personal Loans. I originally took out a $50K loan when I lost my job, with an APR of a staggering 28% plus an inception fee. Though the terms were outrageous, I was in a desperate situation and had no other options. I worked tirelessly over the past year to pay off the loan as quickly as possible and managed to reduce my balance to $10,600.Then the nightmare truly began.I was aggressively contacted by a pushy agent who was trying to persuade me to refinance. Despite my initial hesitation after reviewing the new offer (which clearly was not in my favor), he persisted relentlessly. Under immense pressure, I eventually gave in. He even tried to convince me to increase the loan amount, which I flatly refused. However, after agreeing to the new terms, I noticed he sneakily added hundreds of dollars to my original loan with a vague explanation as to when the loan would be paid off.On top of that, I was told the original loan would continue accruing interest until the new loan came through in about 10 days. Imagine my shock when, less than 24 hours later, the new loan (for more than my original loan) appeared alongside the old oneboth accruing interest simultaneously. I am now stuck with TWO loans, one for more than I initially owed, and both accumulating interest as I try to sort through this mess. When I asked when this double interest accrual would stop, no one could give me a straight answer, only stating that it would clear somewhere between *****(!) days.This is nothing short of predatory lending. Achieve Personal Loans has taken advantage of my situation at every turn, and this needs to be stopped. They are engaging in unethical and deceitful practices designed to trap people into never-ending cycles of debt. I urge anyone considering a loan with this company to think twice. I will be pursuing every avenue available to hold this company accountable for their actions.Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Claudia Paradelo’s BBB complaint. Review shows that on July 27, 2023, Ms. Paradelo applied for a loan to consolidate bills. Multiple terms were provided to Ms. Paradelo who agreed to the terms of the loan provided. The rate was provided to Ms. Paradelo prior to the contract being signed. Ms. Paradelo had been advised that the loan could be paid off at any time without having to pay a prepayment penalty. Monthly payments have been made as agreed for over a year so Ms. Paradelo was contacted to possibly lower the rate of the existing loan. The new loan was approved at a much lower interest rate so the representative asked if the member wanted to pay off other creditors as well. Ms. Paradelo declines so the loan was refinanced without additional funds being provided. The contract was signed on September 24, 2024, and finalized within three days at which time the original loan was paid in full. Ms. Paradelo had contacted Achieve with the same concerns voiced in the BBB complaint. Calls were reviewed and no pressure was provided to have Ms. Paradelo sign the loan. As a courtesy, the payoff of the loan was backdated to September 25, 2024. Ms. Paradelo stated she was satisfied.

On September 12 Achieve Personal Loan received a check in the amount of $4,850 to pay off one of my loans. Evidently my bank forgot to put the loan number on the check, so on 9/12 Achieve decided on their own to apply it to my other loan. I had been checking daily to see if the loan was showing paid off, and on 9/18 I just happened to look at my other loan, and saw that they applied it to that one. I contacted them on 9/18, and was told it would take ***** hours, maybe even as late as Monday to correct. As of today, it still hasnt been corrected.Business Response

The check did not have an account number listed. Ms. ******* contacted ********************** on September 19, 2024, to advise the payment had been posted on a different account held by Ms. ******** The payment was reversed and posted to the account advised by Ms. ******** This payment was posted effective September 12, 2024, which caused no additional interest to accumulate on the account. This is a personal loan company, I just paid off my balance and called and asked to have my banking information removed since I owe nothing and it should not be in their system anymore. I was told that this is not possible. I asked what if you guys are hacked and my information is compromised because of this. ******* was the manager I spoke with on 9/20/24 and she said that my banking information has to stay in there system forever and cannot be removed. My loan through Achieve Loans, serviced by Shellpoint, was paid off around August 5, 2024. However, two days after this date, a payment was debited from my checking account, with another scheduled for today, 08/22/2024. This impending payment has added urgency to my situation. Following the first debit, I contacted Achieve Loans and requested a return of my payment. I was assured that the repayment would be made by August 22, 2024. However, I then received three letters, each citing the complexity of the matter and requesting more time. To my dismay, I was notified that another payment would be debited from my checking account despite the loan balance being 0. I called Achieve Loans, serviced by Shellpoint a second time. I was told I had to close the account by submitting a letter through the Achieve Loan Portal, which remained inaccessible despite my efforts and the customer service representative's efforts. I was given a fax number to fax the letter. I was further informed that after the letter was received, the repayment would take four weeks from the receipt of my letter.Business Response

A recurring payment was made on August 7, 2024. On August 13, 2024, the payoff check was received and held for ten days for clearing purposes and on August 22, 2024, the payment was posted to the account. The account officially closed on August 27, 2024, leaving a balance due **************** of $903.41. This balance will be returned to *************** within 15 days of the loan closing date.

Oct 2021 Achieve personal loans allowed someone portraying as me to open an online unsecured loan in the amount of *********... I have advised them that I did not open such account and I have been a victim of Identity theft and provided them with the identity theft report and they have failed to remove this information from my credit bureaus. This is a violation of my consumer rights. I am demanding that this information be removed from my accounts as the ********************** has failed to provide me with any documents concerning this information as well as the address that they have for this account I NEVER even lived at. I am demanding this information be removed or else I plan to sue in federal court!Business Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to *************************** BBB complaint. Review of the account shows the member agreed to and signed a Freedom Plus loan contract on October 8, 2021. In December of 2022, all active members were notified through mail and email that the name of our company changed from Freedom Plus to Achieve.
A review for possible fraud was completed on August *******, but the loan was not found to be opened fraudulently. A copy of the loan agreement has been sent to the address provided to the BBB which matches the address provided to Achieve (Freedom Plus).

If all members were notified through mail and email then it makes even more sense why I never received anything because the company had my incorrect email address, home address and telephone number per ****** at achieve at phone number **************, her email address is ***********************************. She had me send all of my documents to her and she also advised me that you all have correspondence from me dated back to 2023 and 2022 where I am telling you that I dont have any business with you all. She said that she shows were I disputed it originally and for some reason you all never sent the paperwork to me. She also advised me that there were attempts to contact the co borrower and the borrower on multiple occasions but were never successful! You all have my correct address because I gave it to your company to update it in your system! Remove this from my report, IT IS NOT MINE, I do not even know the other person on the application and I cant believe that you all let someone do all of this ONLINE!!! am at ******** with this situation. After this final attempt to allow you all to resolve this matter that BY LAW YOU are required to do & have failed to do, expect to receive documents from my attorneys where I am naming ACHIEVE & ALL 3 credit bureaus as defendants in a lawsuit for violating my rights under the fair credit reporting act. I will not make light of this situation and will get the justice that I deserve. If your company had actually cared to investigate this. You would find that its not my account! This is sad

Review of the account shows the address on file, also matches what was on the application and what was provided to the BBB. The phone number on file also matches what was recently used to contact Achieve and is listed on the loan application and was the number used to try and contact the member while the loan was past due. A fraud review concluded the creditors that were paid match what is on the members credit report. All disputes have been responded to and have advised that all reporting is accurate. There are no requests on file for any documents to be sent to the member until the BBB was received and at that time a copy of the loan agreement was mailed as requested. I made a HEILOC loan with Lendage LLC in March 2022 and now they are Achieve serviced by Shellpoint. My payment was always the same $369.61 and now that I get a letter it will be $481 when my paperwork states I have a fixed APR and my payment wouldnt change the duration of the loan. I have called several times and no one there seems to have a number of that loan department. Just that I can request a call back and someone should contact me with 3 business days and no one has returned my call.Business Response

I opened a HELOC loan with Achieve for $60,000 with payments over 25 years. According to them, they did not start accruing interest on the loan until recently. My payment has now increased $200 a month for the next 25 years. That makes $60,000 in extra payments alone. They did it without notification and don't seem to care that the lack of accrued interest was an error on their end.Business Response
