5/1/25 called The Appliance Repair Men to have a new stove converted from natural gas to propane. We were quoted $175.00 to do the conversion. Repairman came 5/1/25. He seemed capable and proceeded to do the work. He did have to borrow some tools from my son. When he finished, I said we were quoted $175, he seemed surprised and said his fee was $275.00 and he called the company. I am deaf so I was unable to hear any of the conversation. He said the person he spoke with said that $79.99 would be charged to my credit card, but when I checked my CC, $170.00 had been charged. My son called the company and the lady stated she had spoken with me and explained everything. My son said impossible, my mother is DEAF. So the original quote of $175 had esclated to $450. At no time did the company say the repairman would have his own charge. I paid the serviceman in cash and believed that $79.99 would appear on my credit card. Through our perseverence, the $170 has been reversed.

I contacted The Appliance Repairmen on March 18, 2025 from an ad I accessed on the internet. I had a problem with my washer, and didnt know who to call. I was told I would need to give my credit card information before an appointment was scheduled. When my appointment came , two men came who barely spoke English. After checking my washer briefly, I was told that a part was needed to solve my issue of water not coming into the machine as it should. I agreed to the $291 charge and was told they would order the part .A couple of days later I received a message that they had the part. They came a second time and replaced the part , but the washer still didnt work. He said it was because a filter was dirty and needed replacing, but it was probably not available since my washer was so old, its not that old ,around 5yrs and not used that much, maybe 2 loads a week .After repeatedly saying the part I needed was probably not available he could take my washer and replace it with his machine, so I could wash clothes while he looked for the part . I asked what if he couldnt find the part, which was only a filter. He said in that case I would pay him for his washer and keep it. When this was suggested, I was apprehensive about these repairmen already, but knew at this point that I was being scammed. I cleaned the filter he referred to put it back in and plugged in the washer to see what it did. I found the washer in much worse condition than when I initially called. It only wouldnt fill with water as it should, but everything else worked including powering on and off, unlocking the door etc. but now nothing works even after they supposedly changed the part that was supposed to be the problem. When I contacted the repairman and asked if he could fix my machine, he said no and suggested I call another **************************** these scammers did not repair my washer, sabotaged it to get me to agree to switching my washer , so they could make more money! These men are not repairmen!

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and accept the refund of the service fee. I stand by my original complaint as I had a week without a washing machine because of the repairmens questionable repair ability. I was left with an inoperable machine, in worse condition than when I originally called for repair.

I made appointment over phone for an estimate for a broken burner on my glass top range. Was clearly told that a charge of $69.99 for visit will be deducted from the final job price if I decided to use them. Was given a very high estimate $590. I asked for itemized explanation since the technician that came to the house said labor was around $140. I was told part was $280. So total should be $420 minus $69.99 that I already paid. They did not agree and lower the price a bit to $495 PLUS $69.99. I told them why Plus $69.99 since they said originally when I agree to appointment that that will be deducted if I used them. THEY THEN DENIED THAT THEY AGREE TO THAT AND THAT WAS NOT THEIR POLICY! I then decided not to use them since they where not honest in how they did their b. I was charge the $69.99 and now have the need to report their dishonesty . I have own homes for 40 years and never came across a business that doesnt credit the amount charged for estimates to final repair bill. When I mentioned they did false advertising and that I was going to contact you they hanged up on me.

On December 24th, 2024, I contacted this company for a replacement of a service. The damper on m y refrigerator needed to be changed. The person that answered the phone told me $89.00 dollars will be deducted from the bill, If you decide to proceed with the repairs..They charged me twice as the regular price and also since the guy did not have the part, he had to leave the house and purchase accordingly...It took him one hour to fix the refrigerator and he charged me for two hours of Labor. Also, the installation was very poor quality. I have a cable that was supposed to be covered by the part. You open the fridge and it is the first thing you see. I called this morning and ***** gave me every single excuse you can imagine. No $89.00 back, no itemized invoice...and $370.00 after that scam, I'm trying to be refunded for what is right

I contacted The Appliance Repair Men, AKA Appliance Pros, on 12/9.24 for a broken washing machine. These people use different names and numbers, which screams scam. They sent someone out to investigate. My husband said he barely troubleshot what might have been wrong before determining that the machine needed a new suspension rod. My husband could not understand how he could decide on this even though he didn't do anything to determine if it was in the face of the suspension rod. They ordered the part and came to install it when it arrived. I finally did a small load of laundry about 3-4 days later, and the machine still would not spin. I want my $350 (including the fee to come out and the fee for the part) back because they did not fix the problem and DID NOT diagnose it.

November 26th paid $180 to The Appliance Repair Men to have a dishwasher repaired for a part that fell off and a drawer microwave repaired because the close button would close the drawer but pop back open. Otherwise the microwave was working fine. The repairman came and fixed the dishwasher and I paid him directly an additional $75 (**** Appliance Pro). He said he needed to order a part for the microwave and would be back. He came back, when he pulled the microwave out from under the countertop, it scratched the cabinet face below it badly. He took the microwave apart. The button was not fixed and now the microwave did not work at all. He came back the next day, Tuesday Dec 3rd. My spouse was downstairs and heard a thud while ******* was doing the repair. He came upstairs and saw ******* picking himself up off the floor. He had been shocked and threw his tools in the process. He said he was okay and needed help finding his tools that had been thrown. Apparently the drill bit hit the middle of the large, custom, sliding glass door and cracked the inner pane from corner to corner. The broken glass was not seen at the time. The next day he came back again and I saw the broken glass, called my husband to see it and that it when we put the pieces together to figure out what happen. Now, the glass is broken, the cabinet face gauged and microwave not working. My husband called and the company said they would give money back (credited $180 on Dec 5) and that's it. Said they did not know we needed someone insured and it is our problem. I am again trying to reach them and getting the run around. I have pictures and cannot figure out to get them the right size to upload.

My dryer was not drying clothes so I searched for a repair company in my area. The appliance repair men was local, so I called, made the appt, and put a deposit down. The next day the repair man came with a woman. He did not speak English and she barely, but she assured me she understood what I was saying. No problem. I had to leave so my son in law took over and I told him to finish with them, call with any issues. I was texted an estimate of ******. No big deal, seemed ok to fix the issue. I was called by the company to pay the technician now he was done. That was strange but ok. I told my son in law go ahead and pay but get an invoice of all work/parts done etc. They did not provide the invoice. They said I would get it texted. I did not get anything texted to me. I called and asked for an invoice and was transferred to nobody. I washed a load of laundry, put them in the dryer, and it was doing the exact same thing it did before I called. I called the next morning for an invoice again. No answer. So, I ******* the company and found out they are not in my town. They are a dispatch company and they send people to your house that you have no idea who they are. They just live somewhere. This technician did not bring anything with him but a tiny bag. He did not do anything to my dryer. I finally got a hold of someone and told them, that is false advertising. Their address in my town was a storage unit. They sent a stranger in my home. They did not do any work, and have no invoice to show me what cost ****** plus the 70 deposit. I was called back by a woman. I told her I want a refund. This is very shady business and I am reporting this to my city and BBB. They are stealing money from innocent people. They agreed to refund the ****** but I still haven't seen that so I will go ahead with the dispute with my cc company. They have since removed their site from our city but have one providing service nationwide. Stay very far away from this company. They lie and steal.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. The business refunded my money. I stand behind everything I said about this company. They are a scam company and they are stealing. When the company called to tell me they would finally refund, only because of the BBB complaint, they told me the technician would come to my home and remove the part he installed in my dryer. There was no part installed. He then told me I lied. I asked what about and he said, well maybe not. He continued to call me multiple times over 2 days to ask I remove the BBB complaint. I finally stopped answering the phone. The refund appeared and I am glad about that, but dealing with this company has left me frustrated that this is allowed.

You guys are complete scammers. After trying to access my washers drain filter that seemed to be clogged, I couldnt reach it so I called your service. The technician came to my house and claimed that he opened the drain filter and that it was not clogged, despite clearly not doing so based on the amount of time he took and the lack of any sort of noise or other indication he opened the machine. He said it had 4 codes that were very complicated and that the machine would need a bunch of parts and repairs. When I casually asked out of curiosity how he was able to open the filter to ensure it was empty, since I had had so much difficulty reaching it after taking off the back panel the day before, he became aggressive and said he would never tell me such a secret, just as a doctor wouldnt tell you how medicine he gave you worked (he actually said this). Since he was being completely rude, he left after I paid the 70 dollar fee that covered the diagnosis. His rudeness upset me greatly and I couldnt shake the feeling he was being dishonest about the diagnosis and having checked the filter. I finally was able to access it from the front and lo and behold the drain filter was NOT opened at all and was completely clogged.Emptying it myself fixed the washing machine in a jiffy. Please refund me the fee that was obtained based on your servicemans fraudulent claim that he performed a complete diagnosis and blatant lie that he checked the filter. I have video proof, all timestamped, of the repair man arriving, him leaving, and me opening the filter to find it previously unopened and full of debris.
