    I ordered several books for a class that I'm teaching. After more than a month of waiting and many emails to Alibris, I received an email stating that the warehouse failed to provide a valid tracking number. They issued a refund and asked me to reorder again.I found this to be disrespectful and I have decide to shop elsewhere.

    Hi *****, Thanks for your note. I'm sorry for the trouble with this order. Our new book supplier is normally very reliable. They did provide a tracking number but it appears the package never made it to the carrier. When we messaged the supplier they were not able to provide updated tracking nor a status for your order. At that point we refunded you. I do appreciate that this was terribly inconvenient after waiting a month for you books. Again, my apologies.

    I ordered my book and was very excited. It was the best price in town. When the book arrived it wasn't the book I ordered. I contacted customer service and when they finally responded I was told that I could return the book at my own expense. It was ridiculous. I was provided a link to print a return label but how does one print a return label when ordering from your phone? You don't. I'll keep the book but I'll never order from them again.

    I did not receive the textbook I ordered. It was lost in the mail and never to my doorstep. After multiple attempts to reason with customer service, they have decided neither to ship me another book, refund me, or give me a discount to order another book.

    Alibris is great for what it is. New books sold by them are clearly marked. Otherwise, you are buying from independent sellers that use alibris as conduit. Some of those sellers are not great (HPB, for example). Alibris does not always make clear what version or edition of a book you are receiving from these third parties. Alibris has excellent prices and regularly offers significant discounts via coupons.

    Order #******** 18 Jan. **** Complaint ************************ Books, at this point I can't figure out who they are. ...Super Books, Great Deals, Far Corner, GREAT **** PRICES? Placed an order w/ Alibris for a NEW book. I never to to speak w/human at Alibi's, Super Book Deals, Great Deals, Far Corner.....Who is actually the Book Seller??How do you get to review a book purchased from them? I recd the NEW(HA!) book:TWO SETS OF CORNERS WORN DOWN TO THE CARDBOARD, SCRUNCHED ON ENDS LIKE AN ACCORDIAN, **** WAS WARPED.I sent photographs. They replied they were not allowed to open. They said the book was "NEW", "BRAND NEW" multiple places. They responded with generic text:"Thank you for contacting us. All of us hope that you and your family are safe and healthy. Current customer service hours are Monday- Friday ****** to ****** EST. We are working to maintain great customer service and will do whatever we can to resolve your issues quickly." OR THIS:"For security reasons, we are not allowed to open attachments. Please reply with the requested info in the body of the email in text format." OR:"Thanks for writing. We received the message sent and will follow up soon, usually within 48 hours.""However, we're currently experiencing a high volume of incoming emails. IF YOU DON'T HEAR FROM US RIGHT AWAY, PLEASE DO NOT SEND A SECOND MESSAGE, AS THIS WILL DELAY YOUR ANSWER.     Alibris was totally unhelpful. A business under them by the name of ****************** - **************************************************. They did NOT send a Tracking # or invoice # on their correspondence. Alibris said they could not help. The ARI ******* sent 2 items I did not want or order. And of course NO WAY to contact them. I should have know better. ******************

    I do not recommend buying an ebook from Alibris. It did not appear in my electronic bookshelf, despite many attempts to follow the directions on their FAQ and several attempts to get assistance from customer service. Thus far, I have not been successful in receiving a refund.

    There was a time when I bought dozens of books from Alibris. Over the last 2 years the errors have increased and the customer service has decreased. This last purchase will be my last. My order was lost by **** and I have made two attempts to reach customer service at ********************** for help and not even an automated response.I have filed a complaint with my credit card company and hopefully will recover the money, but the real issue is the number of mistakes and lack of good customer service over the last 2 years.

    I suspect I've been scammed by this entity. I have never heard of them and have had no contact with them. I received a monthly Web Traffic Optimization report from my publisher. On page 10 of the report is a page entitled WTO Improving your Online ******** ********* The page reflects my book One Caregiver's Journey being available on amazon and then it has my book being available for $78.76 on e-bay at Alibrisbooks. I am more than angry. I have asked they remove my book from e-bay. BBB needs to do more review and downgrade their A+ rating.
