My husband and I have had this warranty since 2019 and we will not be renewing in July of 2022! We had our dishwasher break on Christmas day 12.25.2021. We put in a request and had someone come out in January 2022. He told us that we needed a pump and this is why it is not draining, and parts were ordered. My husband called 10-15 times to find out what the status was with absolutely no help, in fact he was treated as if he was a problem. Finally we were notified that the parts were delivered to a different state (This was the end of March) We had a second repair guy come and assured us he knew what needed to be fixed and ordered different parts. He came to the house and told us it was all fixed 4.15.2022 (yes it took 4 months at this time)! To our surprise we went to use the dishwasher that night for the first time in 4 months and well it did the same thing, no drainage and same code flashing. We still don't have it fixed and when my husband called last week this is what he was told. " Sir your dishwasher has a different code on it, we already fixed the first issue" This is FALSE! Our son just bought a house and he was offered a home warranty with his purchase and First American Home Warranty was on the list he declined this and went with Home Shield. We have had 3 friends purchase homes in the area and they also have gone with Home Shield. Sorry First American Home Warranty I would give you a zero if I could. You have treated us like we were the problem for 5 months and we are not. If you need to refer to a claim here is the claim number Dishwasher # three one one three zero six six zero nine- the system would not let me put in the numbers so they are spelled out.First American Home Warranty

I pay for premium plan and also high deductible for each claim. They send out contractors who diagnose and up sell maintenance. If you decline, they will not fix your issue. At this point I am convinced the contractors pay First American to be on their list. You are basically paying for them to come and sell you stuff but not fix anything. My AC broke down. In Phoenix AZ summer. The contractor came out and said fix is covered by home warranty. But tried to up sell 800 bucks maintenance which I declined. Also tried to sell their own home warranty plans. I declined both. Now the earliest they can come and fix the stuff that is covered is 20 days out. Looking at other reviews, they will perpetually postpone the appointment until I go out get it fixed myself with my own money.First American Home Warranty

First American Home Warranty Corporation(First American) will like to apologize for any delays or inconvenience the consumer my have experienced. At this time, First American is aware that an appointment has been scheduled for June 1, 2022 for the contractor to complete repairs to the air conditioning unit. First American has also dispatched an additional contractor in the efforts of having the needed repairs completed sooner than June 1. The new contractor dispatched is Fact HVAC LLC and they will be contacting the consumer to schedule an appointment.
Please be advised, First American considers this claim pending.Chandra k.

Oh my God. This review made it worse. First American is retaliating against me for writing this review. Since, I wrote this review, they have assigned the ticket to a claims specialist. Apparently from then on, the claims specialist is the only person who is allowed to discuss the claim from now on. I cannot speak to anyone else in the company. Everyone I talked to said, they cannot see my claim information any more. I have to speak to this claims specialist only. The problem? I left her 100 voice messages and emails but I cannot get to her. And they wont let me talk to her manager or a colleague. How do I talk to Shanee Harrell or her manager?
I still do not have a working AC in phoenix summer with kids and elderly at home.
is this even legal to retaliate against me for this review?Review fromRobert W

Absolutely horrible. Their customer service telephone maze is seemingly designed to get you to quit trying to reach them, and their agents are in another country. Delay after delay after delay, and that is after you wait up to 30 minutes to speak to someone. The only call I have had with them that lasted less than 45 minutes are the ones where they "accidentally" hung up on me. Avoid this company at all costs. They always say something about the repair isn't covered, regardless of what it is. And I would actually deal with that situation if they ever actually had somebody do the job, but they just don't care. It is impossible to speak with anyone above the front-line agent who initially takes your call. Just scam artists who make their money by taking yours and then ignoring your calls and creating so many delays that you just give up. They need to face a class-action lawsuit and be put out of business.First American Home Warranty

Extremely unfortunate that this company has chosen subpar subcontracted companies, and that when a costumer brings up a concern .. ie "the company is not accredited, they' do not have a phone number where you are able to leave a voice message, they are open limited hours, and do not work on the weekends" yet; I am told that I am " refusing service". I am not refusing service ; I WANT service, from someone who is Able to contact me, and answer a phone. the company was suppose to contact me within 48 hours, days later, no contact.
Please First American, have representatives who care, and a little compassion *** those you serve; as this last experience, with this company makes it difficult to want to refer others.First American Home Warranty

A little over a year ago we purchased a beautiful, 35-year-old home. At that age, things wear out. First American has been true to their word, repairing or replacing the needed items listed in our agreement. In February, both central heating unitsupstairs and downstairsfailed, thus were replaced. In late April, an a/c condensing unit failed, and was also replaced. Our cost was minimal. First American saved us thousands of dollars. I would highly recommend First American to anyone buying an older home. The policy is worth every penny!First American Home Warranty

We live in the south and are having issues on a 3 year old unit. I placed a claim on Wednesday and they emailed me the information on the company they were sending. After looking at their reviews and seeing that they were an hour away, I called FHW to request another company. They denied my request and and scheduled an appointment for a 6 days out, althoughi could have paid extra to have them come out the next day, but that's not covered. The company they sent said they have 10 days to take care of us, which is FHW requirements. Well, the company they sent doesnt even service our brand system. So after waiting a week for our system to even be looked at we are back at square 1. I called FHW, the lady informs me they can send another company buy it can take up to 24 to 48 hours to assign someone, and then from there a scheduled time. They will not reimburse the $85.00 SERVICE FEE, or reimburse if we were to have it looked at by another ac company and pay out of pocket. They offered a whopping $150 rebate for portable air, but that is an insult to the consumer considering they start at $300 for the small one that barely does 500sqft, which doesn't even take care of the main room, 2 kids,2 adults and 2 dogs. I am very disappointed in the customer service received or lack there of. This company needs people who are willing to help their customers and do better background checks on service providers who can actually work on a system, and in a timely fashion.First American Home Warranty

Complete nightmare. DO NOT BUY A HOME WARRANTY WITH FIRST AMERICAN. We have wasted so many hours and been so frustrated trying to get them to do anything correctly since we bought our house two months ago. They are completely incompetent and don't care about actually helping customers at all.First American Home Warranty

We have had 3 major issues since we moved into our home... and 3 major disappointments from First American Home Warranty. They rebuilt an A/C with too small of a motor to cool the house, so we had to replace the unit at our cost. As of today, I've been without a working oven for 5 months, while they do everything they can to avoid the cost of replacement.First American Home Warranty
