I filed for a loan that said I was going to receive an email or text when my loan was approved and Ive heard nothing back. They have all bank information that was verified and everything. I would like to know what they are doing with my information and my loan. It was for a very large emergency vet bill.Business Response

We processed your application and after reviewing your banking information through our underwriting process, you were denied for the loan due to specific underwriting reasons that we will not disclose here on the BBB site. We sent you an email when you were denied that we can see you opened the email on January 5th. That email has instructions for you to determine why you were denied.
We are sorry you were not approved and we were not able to assist you at this time.
It's very concerning that you submitted a BBB complaint rather than just calling us to ask us a question about the denial.

I applied for a loan on 12/22/2023. Biggest mistake. They charge 780% ANNUAL PERCENTAGE RATE which is way above what is what is legally allowed in **** (5%-10%) and in ********** (10% per year)I received 2 emails. One to verify my bank and the other to sign the papers. I could not enter my social and when I called they told me I was denied. I let them know that I have the Loan Agreement right in front of me so why was I denied and they person on the other end could not explain to me why they send Loan Agreements out prior to approving an application. If you read the loan agreement, you will see that your loan is not approved until the underwriting process is complete, and you have reviewed and signed the contract and we speak with you to go through the full terms and conditions. You are supposed to review the contract to determine if you want to proceed with the application process. In your case, you decided to not proceed. The loan agreement is not final until the underwriting process is completed and we speak with you to confirm you understand all the terms and conditions, etc.
Yes,these loans are expensive. Per all regulatory process and federal laws we must provide the full cost of the loan stated as an Annual Percentage Rate (APR) even though the loans are outstanding for a shorter period. We try to be as clear as possible about this on our website as well as when we speak to our customers. These loans are intended to be used for urgent cash needs during a crisis and should be paid off as quickly as possible. The average person will only keep the loans outstanding for a short time. These loans are costly to originate and manage and because they are unsecured,are expensive.
If you can borrow funds through your bank or other means, you should do so. If you are not able to obtain a loan in time for your critical shortage, then these loans may be a viable option.

I applied for a loan and they asked for a lot of banking and personal information. I was told I would receive a call and never did, now every time I call I get hung up on. This is a fraud and they have my personal information and are attempting to scam me out of moneyBusiness Response

Looking at your application and the notes on your account. You applied with us first back on November 17th and again on November 27 and then on December 21st. On December 21st, you applied at 8:05 am and we spoke to you at 8:09 am. Then, you submitted the paperwork to complete the review and while your application was in review, you called and canceled your application. The notes say you were upset and requested to speak to a supervisor and then hung up during the call.
To be clear, our loan center is open from Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific time. We try to work through email and SMS whenever possible support our customers when our phone operators are not online. We are sorry you had a bad experience with your application. We will review our processes to see where we can do better.

Sorry for the delay in responding to this complaint. We missed this one last week.
I've reviewed the file. We have not and would not ever charge a customer for applying for a loan. The customer does not have any cost associated with applying for our loans. We incur all those costs ourselves as part of our business. Perhaps you are thinking that our verification process passes a cost onto you but this is not the case.
Check your account details and identify the charge and dispute this charge with your bank or call the phone number associated with the charge. My guess is that you have authorized some other charge inadvertently.
But,we would never charge anyone any amount.
Please correct this complaint reflecting that the issue has been resolved because we were not responsible for any charge. We are 100% positive this is the case.

I have a loan with this company. This company commited fraud with my bank. Freedom cash fraudulently wrote a check in my name, made it out to the company and cashed the check. Luckily I caught it and had to file a fraud claim with my bank and close my bank accountBusiness Response

We have reviewed this account and will reach out to the borrower directly. There is no fraud that has happened. The process of collecting payments per the contract is through an electronic means. One of the means of collecting payment is a remotely created check. This was fully disclosed and authorized in our contract that the customer signed.
Currently, the account is now delinquent and the customer is not responding to our calls to collect payment. The account is in our collection department.
To avoid further late fees are return fees we kindly advise the customer to reach back to us and set up a payment plan to resolve the outstanding balance.
Our loan center is open M-F from 7:00am to 5:00 pm Pacific at ************.

I received a loan approval for $500, completed signed & returned the electronic documents 11/29/2023 which selected the "mail me a paper check" option because the banking information had changed. We've reviewed this complaint. The applicant applied for a loan but the appliction was denied in our underwriting process and communication was submitted for the denial through an email sent to the applicant. We can also see that the denial email was opened by the applicant informing them of the denial.

I ordered a pair of shoes from Social Status online, November 20, 2022. I received a confirmation email for purchase and I received a shipping confirmation afterwards. I did not receive the package, the tracking status states label was created and do not go further than that. I have emailed the company numerous times with no response. 12/7/2023 filled out an appliCation inquiry which led me to several documents requesting banking information. It said that I would have an answer within an hour but after checking on here for complaints I do see that there have been no answers via phone call or email to these inquiries. I emailed the company and requested that they would cancel my inquiry, and that I no longer wish to pursue a loan with them. I have not approved a loan. I was on hold for over *********************************** line to be answered only to be kept on hold. I immediately came on here because they have my information and I will pursue further matters if anything happens to my account.Business Response

Your application has been cancelled. We are sorry you were on hold for 10 minutes. We have thousands of calls a day and try to staff accordingly but it's hard to keep up during this busy season. Your information is safe. Every lender you apply with will require personal information in order to complete the underwriting process. We have been doing this for over a dozen years and have never had a security issues.
I hope you recieve the help you need with another lenders.

I've reviewed this account and what we see is that we sent you twe emails asking you to finish the process as well as five text messages. We do not see a single response from you. No phone calls and no sms messages or emails.
Perhaps you were calling a different lender or a different number.
We support thousands of applications daily and issue hundreds of loans a month. We can't help everyone but work hard to provide loans to as many as we can.
I'm sorry you had a negative experience.
