Seek Capital promoted services specific to start-up companies, who were not yet 2 years old and didn't qualify for small business loans. They said they pursue loans specific to small businesses using an algorithm to ensure the best fit for the entrepreneur. They also offer a service whereby once approved, they have someone who will actively work to get you more money than approved. Not one time do they tell you that they are simply applying for credit cards, nor that because of this, the hit to personal credit is exponential. Further, even after being approved at a certain limit and then they pursue aggressively for their ~10% fee, within a month or so, the credit card company can view all the inquiries to the credit report and then adjust down the approved balance. Thus, less balance yet the fee to them has already been paid. They actively engage in highly deceptive business practices and prey on entrepreneurs when they're most vulnerable.Initial Complaint

Upon consultation with ****** at Seek Capital, I was told that they would facilitate getting business credit cards with competitive introductory offers in lieu of a small business loan. She told me that a $50k estimate was a conservative estimate of what they could get me based on my soft pull of my credit profile.Upon signing the agreement, I was asked to join them on phone call after phone call with the credit card companies while they tried to get increases in the limit. They also encouraged me to move some of my existing credit onto a new credit card so they could charge my commission fee. I've spent countless hours on the phone with customer service **** trying to get these credit cards with no actual service or expertise provided by Seek Capital. In the end, I did most of the work and I got a small fraction of credit compared to what they promised and instead I had multiple inquiries onto my credit card account doing damage onto my credit score. When I spoke to a team member, I told them that they had not achieved what they had initially promised and a few hours after that call, I received an invoice demanding payment that same day. I know realize that they had no intention and were aware of their inability of getting me the credit I desired for my business.Initial Complaint

Seek Capital promised loans, however delivered credit cards: Advertisements and telemarketers promised that I would receive personalized business loans or lines of credit. However, Seek Capital submitted multiple personal credit card applications without my consent, misrepresenting them as "lines of credit." Credit Damage and Hidden Costs: Seeks strategy of stacking credit cards has significantly harmed my personal credit scores and imposed fees of up to 10% of the total credit limits, in addition to early termination fees. As a result, I have incurred a total of $9,831.55 in fees. Illegal Gag Clauses and Fake Reviews: Seek required me to sign contracts that prohibited me from posting negative online reviews, a practice that violates the Consumer Review Fairness Act. Furthermore, the positive reviews were fabricated. Pressure and Deception: I was coerced into signing contracts on the spot, under the false assertion that it was necessary to secure the quoted rate.Initial Complaint

************************ (***) is taking action against Seek Capital and its founder/CEO *** ******, alleging a bogus business finance scheme that cost small business owners over $37 million by charging them thousands of dollars to open credit cards in their names instead of providing loans or lines of crediT. They told me that they were only gonna be soft inquiries maybe once or twice but now I have eight hard inquiries on my credit andmy credit went from 800 to 620. Then they charged me $9665.50 just to open up credit cards under my name. Once they received my payment, I havent heard back from them.Initial Complaint

Hello, SeekCapital located in ** was shown up on LendingTree when I inquired small business loan funding. However, this company will just apply credit card on your behalf from those banks, rather than providing you a loan. I could do that myself. Then they charge fee the approved credit card limit. If approved credit limit is over $70k they charge a fee of 9.99% of the approved credit limit, and if lower, they charge *****%. This is a rip off. I could just apply for those credit cards myself. When on the three-way call with bank to check the status of the credit card application, they made me to lie that I applied it myself. In addition, after one of the credit cards was approved and I paid them for the fee using the card, the card was immediately canceled by the bank, since bank has seen so many fraud complaints related to SeekCapital. I asked SeekCapital for a refund for the fee associated with this card's closure since I couldn't use this card for my small business. They first said I needed to provide them a proof letter from the bank to show the card has been cancelled. They said once they saw the letter, they would refund me. So I got the letter and provided it to them. Then they said the letter was being reviewed and I needed to wait. So I waited, but there was no update. I emailed them for status update, there was no response. I called and the direct office numbers previously could take me directly to their representatives always appeared busy tune or not in service. Then I called their mainline at ************ or ************, nobody answered the phone, but only asked me to leave a voicemail. Of course, no one called back. This company is a fraud. Stay away. Also, why did *********** allow such fraud company shown on their website as a recommended funding source? The fact that *********** allowed this company to show up on their website is misleading.Initial Complaint

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Seek Capital, which failed to fulfill its promises and engaged in deceptive and unethical practices. I hired them to help establish $70,000-200,000 in business credit using my strong personal credit (810 score). However, instead of business credit, I was given personal credit cardscards I could have obtained on my own. These credit cards caused my personal credit score to drop and did not serve my business needs. The company required me to make time-consuming calls (often hours long) to gain the credit, a task that should have been their responsibility. Furthermore, their frequent calls and demands overwhelmed me, leaving me no time to focus on my business. They also sent me invoices demanding payment before any credit cards were issued, including one with a due date of January 30, which they sent to me on January 31. Despite never receiving any of the promised credit cards, I was threatened with a $250 late fee.I am currently being harrassed for more than $8,000 for services that failed to deliver the promised business credit, and I believe this was a scam. Their misleading claims, excessive demands, and unfair billing practices have caused significant stress, damaged my credit, and wasted my time. I am seeking a full refund of the $8,000.I request that the BBB investigate this companys practices and assist in resolving this matter.Initial Complaint

Around 03 DEC 2024, I was looking for financing to assist with my small business. Seek Capital advertised themselves as a company that will help you launch and grow your business with 0% APR Funding for up to 18 months on qualifying credit cards (Business &/or Personal). I saw this as an awesome opportunity to access funding to assist with the growth of my business. I specifically told them that I prefer to have the majority in business cards with no more than two - three personal cards. They did the complete opposite and provided a limited amount of funding with business cards and several personal credit cards. I expressed my concerns, and they tried to fast-talk me and tell me that it was still credit. Personal cards are reported on my credit report and using them will cause a high usage and decrease my overall credit score. These were ALL credit cards that I could have applied for myself IF I wanted to .. especially on the personal side. In my opinion, their tactics showed a lack of integrity and caused more harm than good, and I would have NEVER signed up with them IF I had known their true business practices. In addition, I was charged $5,816.71 USD for their services - or lack of services as agreed upon.Initial Complaint

I put in for a business loan recently and I found there practice to be a little troublesome. While I was on the phone with the finance agent I felt really uncomfortable. She was asking questions that you usually wouldn't have to answer from a financial institution. Then I started to feeled pushed the more we talked. So once we got to the part where I had to say "I approve" I hung up because I felt it was a bad idea and I never approved it. I'm writing in to ask you guys for them to remove all of my information and please stop calling meBusiness Response
