      I wanted to register my business last year so I went onto my state website and Legal Zoom was on there. So I thought I was going to knock everything out at once. So I signed up for a payment plan which consisted of 3 payments of $98.00. I thought that was to high considering you can do everything buy yourself. But I went ahead and signed up for it. On March 24 2022 I got and alert that $249.00 was taking out of my account from legal zoom. I didn't know what it was for considering I already paid them $300.00 to register my business. But they couldn't register my EIN number so I had to myself. So when I woke up this morning there was an alert saying that legal zoom was trying to take another $249.00. So I logged on to see what it was for and it says agent fees. I didn't signed up for an agent I just wanted to register my business. So I called and I spoke with a lady. She asked me a couple questions to identify me. So after she finished I told her I wanted to cancel my subscription. She proceeded to tell me that I need a agent all 50 states need an agent for your business. Mind you my business not running right now I have had other stuff going on. But I wanted to make sure that my paper work was together. So as she continues I keep telling her that I just want to cancel my subscription. She continues so I got furious cause it was like she was not listening to anything I was saying. So I ask for a supervisor or manager. She told me it would take 4 to 5 mintues. I said ok. She gers back on the phone and proceeded to tell me no one was available, but she was going to cancel my subscription. If she would of just did that from me asking the first time I would not have had to step our of character. I have never had to handle business this way and I do not like it at all. I just want my refund back.

      I paid for service from Legalzoom that they did not perform which costed me legal fees they were supposed to dissolve a company for me that was the service I paid for Legalzoom did not perform the service I paid for and would not refund the cost when I talked to their representative on the phone she said we are not going to refund you and that's that and then hung up I didn't try to call back because obviously that's gonna get me nowhere the service has been about as bad as it can be. the business number they were supposed to dissolve is *********** after all this I ended up having to perform the service I paid them to do, because they said it was not possible. I had it accomplished with no issues by myself in 20 minutes

      I made an order with LegalZoom to file for a nonprofit ************** LegalZoom then filed the wrong name, along with a spelling error(the words "defenselegal" with no space in between), on the ********** Secretary of State website. LegalZoom agreed that they needed to amend the name. However, they were not able to amend it because they couldn't get access to the Secretary of State's website. They said I needed to grant them access. I tried multiple times to get access without any success. I explained to them that I would be happy to grant them access, but I myself am not able to get access. I tried to reach a resolution with LegalZoom by asking that they simply make a new filing with a correct name, instead of having to make an amendment. They said that they would need to charge me for a brand new order if they did that. As a result, I told LegalZoom customer service that I would need to dispute the charge with my credit company. After I disputed the charge, LegalZoom lied and claimed to my credit card company that I never contacted them about disputing the charge. Customer Service just today told me that they can't refund me because the order was completed. This is false. The order was never completed because they never delivered a product that was able to be used. LegalZoom refuses to take responsibility for their error, and have made it impossible to reach a resolution where I could actually start my nonprofit.

      I purchased a service form legal soon and in the final payment it states my total is 493 WITH the filing of 249 included. The billing has an asterisk that states that the 249 will be charged upon filing nothing else. Now I'm being charged 249 on top of the 493 HOWEVER my receipt stated that the TOTAL of everything including the state filing was 493. When i called I received no help. The receipt states my total with no additional fees. I shouldn't be charged an additional fee is this was not in the totality of what i am paying which states 493 TOTAL. There is no mention of an additional charge it states it's included. I wouldn't have used this service if this was the case

      I am filing this complaint because Legalzoom (LZ) misrepresented the service term. In February, after a phone meeting with a representative for a different LZ service, the representative promoted their Tax + Accounting service, Initially, I declined the service. After some insistence, I accepted the service when the representative provided that if I was not satisfied with the service, it will be easy to cancel and LZ has a 60 day money-back guarantee. After a few meetings each time with different staff, I realized that the representatives were unable or did not have the knowledge to provide the accounting service that I needed. I was using ********** which came with the plan so I took my time to cancel the service. I contacted LZ to cancel the service in July, and the representative told me that I was locked into a one year contract and they will bill me $159 for the remaining of the term. When I objected that I was informed about the 1-year contract, the representative said the information is in the terms and conditions in the Item 17 under the liability section, and the 1-year contract is LZ policy. I understood the service to be month to month. At an impasse, I requested to speak to a supervisor, and the representative indicated that I will get a call back in >5 days. I received a call 10 days later, and she repeated the policy that the service is a 1-year term. She insisted that if I was not satisfied with the service, I should have cancelled within the 60 days. I explained that if it was explained to me that that I was locked in for 1 year, I would have cancelled. My desired resolution is to terminate service immediately and discontinue billing. I also want to warn others that Legalzoom customer service is terrible, and their representatives aggressively upsell their services and are deceptive about the terms of their service.

      I did use Legal Zoom for a one time question in early 2021. I did not sign up for a continuing service. At some point I noticed I was getting a monthly $25 charge. I disputed the charge with ********** and LegalZoom came back with records of a person I do not know using the service. This person lives in another state. Apparantly LegalZoom has connected my creditcard to this other person's account. The charges stop for a while but eventually my card gets charged again. I dispute, ********** gives me a credit, and then it starts again. The call tree at LegalZoom never gets through to anyone to discuss this problem. I have held online for over 2 hours more than once. This is no way to run a business and seems to be designed to make it impossible to get problems like this resolved.

      LegalZoom has been charging my credit card $142.91 for the past three months (05/11/2022, 06/11/2022, 07/11/2022). I NEVER agreed to any type of recurring charges or subscriptions. I signed up to their "flat fee" services and was expecting to be charged $249.00 total. I did not sign up for any type of agent service that others say is what they are told they are being charged for after authorizing LegalZoom to debit their card for the original flat-fee payment. I see that they do this to many people and even continue to charge the customer's accounts when their payment option is removed from the account. I am concerned for my account safety on top of being upset about the $428.73 this company has stolen from me. If so many people are submitting complaints about this company illegally taking money from their customers by signing them up for services they never wanted, why is this company still doing it? It appears they had over 300 complaints over the past year. Someone needs to file a class-action lawsuit against this company. I just want my money refunded and for them to stop charging me for services I never signed up for.

      07/15/2022 $399.00 Refund of my money ! I never gave legalzoom the authorization to charge my card ! I open an Llc in 2012 with legalzoom which company is no longer in functioning capacity! I have told them in the past but they keep charging my account! I have gone to the bank and canceled the card and got issued a new card but some how they keep charging even the new card $399.00 every year ! I have zero contact with legalzoom for the past 8 years ! But they keep charging my card that it is agent fee ! I have never given legalzoom my current account number but they keep charging my account every year

      Similar to another *** complaint filed on 7/6/22 - I signed up for the "expedited" business service on 6/21/22 hoping to get an LLC established with my state by the end of the month. By paying the top-tier pricing (over $600) I was led to believe the paperwork would be completed within 2 weeks. The ETA for completion is listed as 7/6 (now 9 days past, I still haven't received anything, and the ETA hasn't changed). The free 30-min. "tax consultation" was a sales pitch, as mentioned by others, and I knew more about business deductions than the salesperson I spoke to! I called customer service 3 days ago - after escalation to a manager, the most they said they would refund was 10% (still have no evidence that they've sent a credit). Called my credit card company and I am disputing the full charge.

      Paid for legalzoom to handle my divorce on April 5th. My spouse and i signed the forms and sent them in for processing. After over two weeks we got an email stating the forms were signed incorrectly. They sent us new forms by mail which also took two week. We signed the new forms and mailed them back ASAP. We paid $798 for the VIP service so this could be expedited as well as over $300 for a filing fee. AS of today July 14th the online portal showed still reviewing the forms so i called to speak with an agent who informed me they were getting ready to ship the forms to my spouse to be signed. IF THEY HAD ACTUALLY REVIEWD THE FORMS they would know my spouse and i had already both signed and notarized the forms.. I told them the forms were complete and needed to be sent to the courts and not the spouse and if they had bothered to even check them they would know. This entire process was supposed to take 12 business days and we are now on month 4!! I want my money back and my forms filed with the court and the guy refused to let me speak to a supervisor.
