Legalzoom, uses deceptive language to sign you up for a subscription that I wasn't aware or didn't understand at the time would renew annually. I have been paying for 5 years and hadn't noticed. I noticed when looking at transactions recently that they billed me on April 5, 2025 for another year. I contacted them on 4/7/25 to cancel the subscription and request a refund. I also looked and they provide no notification that this subscription and just bill it. It's sneaky and against MN Statute 325G.57 where they are required to notify me of a renewal. I disputed the transaction with my bank with the same logic. Legalzoom chatted with me and said that their policy is no refunds unless requested within 30 days of the order - the original order which in my case was 5 years ago. It's simply poor practice and deceptive and in this case possibly against a law.Business Response

I purchased a set up of my llc from legal zoom. I have had nothing but headaches. I tried to change my email address early on, which is supposed to be possible from the legal zoom online platform. That did not work. I called customer service and spent over an hour on the phone to change my email. That still does not work. I then spent 2 hours in a online chat and a phone call. Still email went to the wrong email. I then spent another two hours on the phone, holding and being passed up the ladder and to no avail. There is also a language barrier I have found very difficult. I cannot I understand what the representatives are saying due to a heavy foreign accent. When I politely ask to speak with another representative, they become insulted in some way and then it seems any progress I've made regressed. The most basic of functions I cannot get done. Also the my legal zoom online platform is not functioning properly in being able to access my EIN # and information. More phone calls and waste of precious time with zero results. I can set up my own llc legalities and I've been educating myself in doing so.I have discussed getting a refund, which a service team member agreed to do and as before, nothing happens. I will allow them to keep the 50 for the state filing fee of 50$.I will take care of my own Articles of Organization and everything else I need. I fact, when I complained to other business owners, I was told they have heard the same thing about legal zoom being a poorly run business. I want my money back! Thank you KEBusiness Response

Legal zoom allowed a business to be created without my knowledge or consent. This gave the individual that created it a chance to open a line of credit under my name. According to the conversation from Legal Zoom the representative stated that I did not sign any paper work. He mentioned that ******* ****** created 2 other accounts one being ******. This was fraudulent. I closed the account with my accountant prior to that date. I was able to gain access to some of the forms that I never signed.Business Response

I paid for a service to file business paperwork. A representative filled the forms out over the phone on my behalf without disclosing all of the options, subsequently marking them incorrectly, that have caused significant delays. I am not able to amend any of this myself through their portal and Legal Zoomrefuses to give me credit or a refund so I can correct the issues with a new application.Business Response

I paid to have my trademark registered and it was never registered. My "Intake call" lacked the information I needed, and the person I spoke to assured me that I would receive that information on my next "attorney consultation call", so I paid the $649 and planned on gathering more information on that call. On that call, I was then was told it was unlikely that my name would be approved, so I reached out to customer care at ********************** to issue a refund and abandon the process of registering my trademark. I paid to have someone help me register my trademark, which never took place. No documents were submitted to the *****. After reaching out to customer care, they told me they could not issue a refund because I had already had my "attorney consultation call". I paid to have my trademark filed and it was not, so I should receive a refund.Business Response

Legal Zoom completed and filed my business taxes incorrectly for 2023. Upon doing my taxes for 2024 I found this out and contacted them to amend my returns so I could proceed with this year. Upon contacting them they expressed they no longer do taxes and cannot help me. After escalating the complaint I was passed to a lady that was helpful. She assured me that it would be handled and placed me in touch with the original tax professional that filed my taxes. We discussed the problem and she was going to email me with the solution. Nothing has happened and no communication back. This spanned from January of this year until the end of February when I emailed my last communication requesting resolution or I would be filing a complaint with BBB. I expect a professional service that is still in business to stand behind and correct their mistakes. Not hide behind the fact that they no longer do taxes as having no responsibility for what was done incorrectly. At this point I will be forced to file extensions for this year and if not corrected have to pay a tax professional to correct their issues. A reputable business would own it or reimburse me for someone else to do it.Business Response

I bought services through LegalZoom to create my llc , since then they have discretely and fraudulently subscribed my credit card without my knowledge( I never agreed to store my credit card) for services for the past two years. I only found these charges by chance on my credit card while dealing with a separate issue, I never got any corresponding notifications on the order itself through email or mail , and it seems the cellphone option for notification was automatically defaulted to disabled essentially making me unaware of all these charges , seems very fraudulent to me as Im sure they wanted to continue to charge me without notifying me . This went on for two years straight without me using their service . 398 per year for a total of $796.00. Till this day I still have trouble playing off my credit card and I feel like their fraudulent tactics has cause me to incur interest towards these cards as well.Business Response

I dissolved an LLC through LegalZoom in July 2024. In February 2025, I was charged another $400 for the registered agent service. This is obviously a service no longer needed. I have been denied a refund.Business Response

5 years in a row I have contacted this company and had been told that I successfully cancelled everything in my name. 5 years in a row i have been charged $250 for services that I was told were cancelled. That $250 is now $499 for the same services and I have just been charged the $499 after cancelling everything under my name 5 times now.Business Response

I created an *** a year ago using Legal Zoom and registered to use their registered agent service. The *** is now being dissolved and I do not require this service any longer. I did not realize this was on auto charge. I recently saw the charge on my credit card. I immediately went to the website and canceled the subscription. It said the renewal for 2026 was canceled and that the subscription was good until then. Being that the business is being dissolved, and the renewal occurred only one week ago, I contacted customer service and requested a refund for, at minimum, the prorated amount. I was informed that it is their POLICY not to provide refunds. I explained that the business is dissolving, I do not require a year of service, and had I realized there was a pending auto charge I would have canceled it. I made it clear that I did not authorize this continued service and charge. However, the company refused to terminate the service as requested and provide the necessary refund. $199 stolen from me.Business Response
