      I have reviewed the response from People Finders and have received a refund today of the $24.95 that they illegally charged my card, with help from the BBB.

      On August 12th 2024. I purchased a one-time service to get information on an unknown number that was harassing me. The business provided no information on the number. Since then, ****************** has been trying to charge me for a membership that I did not sign up for. I thought it was handled the first time when my credit card company and I went through the steps to make sure no membership was established with the company. Today (8/29/2024), ****************** once again tried to push through a charge for the same membership I never signed up for! On top of that they have an audio bot posing as their customer service and there is no way to contact an actual representative. This business is a scam through and through, falsely advertising a service and then trying to charge for a hidden membership that I never signed up for!!! This business is clearly a sham and this company should be liquidated immediately!!!!

      Peoplefinders.com tricked my 13-year-old son into subscribing to a monthly subscription when he only wanted to buy a single record. He thought he was paying $0.95 for a record. Days later he found a charge for $24.95 for a monthly subscription he did not realize he signed up for. The process by which he signed up for was likely misleading, and he did neither intend to nor realize that he was subscribing. The practice may be unlawful under Section 5 of the ************************ act. Moreover, as a minor, he lacks the legal capacity to enter into this contract under applicable law. I called customer service and requested a cancellation, to which they agreed, and a refund, which day refused. I want a full refund.

      On or about July 7, 2024, I wanted to send my daughter a Birthday Card with a present. I had misplaced her address, so logged on to People Finders. The amount I was quoted was $1.00. I obtained her address and mailed the gift. Surprised that on July 23, 2024, my debit card was charged $29.95. I wanted to call People Finders but a serious health issue prevented me from doing it. Then, on August 23, 2024, another charge for $29.95. This is getting serious. I never signed a contract that I was aware of and would like a refund of the amount you have charged me, which is $59.90. Using debit cards is getting to be a hazardous risk and due to several issues, I am seriously concerning closing my account. I hope you understand my situation and forward the refund to my bank account. Thank you very much.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against PeopleFinders concerning unauthorized charges made to my credit card.On June 24, 2024, I made a one-time purchase from PeopleFinders for the amount of $3.95, with an additional $0.50 for having the report emailed to me. I only required one report and did not wish to subscribe to any service.However, upon reviewing my recent credit card statement, I noticed that I have been charged a monthly subscription fee of $29.95 by PeopleFinders. I did not consent to or authorize this subscription and was shocked to see these charges.I immediately contacted PeopleFinders customer service to address this issue. Unfortunately, I was offered only a $9.00 prorated refund, which I find completely inadequate and unfair. The representative suggested that I should have called sooner, but I had only just received my credit card statement and noticed the charge.The entire situation feels deceptive, as I did not intend to subscribe to any ongoing service and only sought a single report. The minimal refund offered does not reflect the full amount I was wrongly charged, and I believe this practice is a scam.I request that the Better Business Bureau investigate this matter and assist me in obtaining a full refund of the unauthorized charges.       I thought I was signing up for .99$ but instead charged for .99$ and 24.99$. It is a total scam, they deceived me and charged me additional 24.99$ and I get a standard response that its their terms and conditions. I am surprised how they are able to still dupe people openly and without any fear. As soon as I saw the charge I immediately cancelled and contacted them but they are not refunding my money. Looks like Im not the only one who got scammed. I would have never given them my details if I knew they would charge me 24.99$ without my consent.

      8/10/24 was the date of the lookup on PeopleFinders.com. I looked up someone that was coming to my house to buy a sofa from us and her ******** account looked sketchy. The look up gave us no information but I was fine paying the 95 cents that I agreed to. Then I look on my ****** a few days later and see a charge of 95 cents, which is fine, and then a separate charge of $24.95. I never agreed to a charge of $24.95. When I emailed about the extra charge, PeopleFinders replied that I agreed to recurring membership fees, which I did NOT. Membership fee for what? I was using it one time to look up one person's name. I didn't agree nor want a membership

      I purchased a 3 day trial of peoplefinders on 8/4/24 and cancelled the subscription on 8/6/24 and was charged on 8/10/24 for the subscription. I proceeded to cancel the subscription a second time on 8/10/24 and called and emailed customer service to let them know I had cancelled the subscription and should not have been charged. At that time they didn't issue a refund. I want a refund. I cancelled autopay via ****** with them but this didn't prevent them from charging my card.
