1 starThis business is a scam. I rented a car throw Priceline from Carwiz on 8/8/2024, the rental was prepaid. When I got to the airport, I called Carwiz on the phone number that was provided for pick up from the airport to the Carwiz location. After calling for almost 2 hours, without no answer, I decided to take a Lyft. When I arrived there, the manager informed me that he cancelled my reservation because I was 2 hours late. I explained to him what my situation about nobody picked up, then he offered to give me another car for extra $70.00 I accepted and he asked me for my driver's license. He quickly changed when he saw my address, stated that he could not rent the car due to milages. He said that he only allowed 50 miles to the entire rental period. At the end, I asked if I it was possible to get a ride back to the airport and I was dropped back at the airport by his driver.Review fromKeitha P

1 starThis place is a scam. They took my money then didn't have the car I had rented. So, the started on to upsale me a "much larger" car for "only 9.97 more a day". Because I was on a trip for one last visit so I could see my friend (she has cancer) I took another car for $7/day more. I paid extra for double miles. I just got a bill from them saying I owed an additional $448.95. I am instructing my credit card to deny payment. I will NEVER rent from them again!Review fromMario O

1 star????Carwiz car rental SCAM ALERT, AVOID AT ALL COST!!!Carwiz (for the rest of this review I will call it Scamwiz as it deserves this name) is a company that continues to scam it's customers. I just recently learned it myself.Recently I rented a car from Scamwiz using Expedia. It was a great price @ $135 for 9 days, for ************* crossover.I picked the car from ***********. The desk is in the Marriot lobby across the street (not with all other rental companies), and the cars are at the P6 parking behind the Marriot (again, different than other companies).First, when I arrived at 1PM on Friday, nobody was at the desk. I had to call the number and wait for the staff to show up. Not the big deal. 9 days later I returned the car in exactly same condition. Again, nobody was at the desk. SO I just dropped the key and went to catch the flight. When I got to the hotel in another city in ******, I received email with pictures, stating that damage to the windshield was found. (Pictures attached). I thought it was a joke. I actually laughed. Two TINYYYYYYY chips size of maybe 2mm across. Normal wear and tear that happens when car is used for it's purpose, ie: DRIVING. I did not hear the rocks hitting the windshield. I'm pretty sure these did not happen while I had the car. I called the office, and heard bunch of excuses, how they are trained to look at everything, and there was nothing they could do. I know how things are in ******, you do what you are told or you are gone. I am guessing the employee was doing what he was told by the ****************** in fear of losing his job.$500 is enough to replace the windshield, which this damage does NOT justify. So this is why the car was so cheap, because they scammed me/my insurance for over almost 4 times the rental fee.Review fromAshley C

1 starDO NOT USE!! They cancelled my booking via text the night before our trip stating they did not have any cars. This booking was for the *******, ** airport location. Left me very much in a bind. I would never use them again, and would recommend others avoid them as well.Review fromMary R

1 starI read the reviews and got totally freaked out. I paid $148 for the car in advance through Priceline after reading in depth about them and filling out the on line pre rental paperwork reading clauses, deposits of unknown amount they determine after you give your credit card as well as 85 cents per mile over the allotted amount and a refusal to take my good coverage insurance I backed out and said just keep my $ . I am too concerned with the frightening reviews. At that point they sent me threatening texts . I wish this would permit a photo. They said they would report me to all rental car affiliates, credit card companies and TSA for being a problematic traveler. Very crazy empty threats and they had my money! I stopped the texts when I said I would be posting it on online reviews I dodged a bullet!Review fromRichard L

1 starIf I am allowed to give the negative rating, I will give a negative rating. Please be patient to read what happened to us. It is a true story. We were using Priceline to book a minivan from Carwiz Rent Car (also called FLEX RENT A CAR). The only reason we chose Carwiz Rent Car (also called FLEX RENT A CAR) is because of their cheaper price, but in the end we were fooled by them and we paid more than triple price than the price listed in Priceline. The minivan is in horrible condition. I have rented cars from other rental car companies and I never expected the rental car could be like this way. Many scratches and dents on the car and the right rear tire pressure were lower than safety level. I talked with the people from this rental car company and he just simply asked another person to pump some air into the tire. 30 minutes after we drove on highway, the tire pressure warning was on and we had to stop at gas station to pump the air into the tire again. On our trip, we pump air at least 10 times and the tire pressure was low every 30 minutes driving. It was a terrible experience. What makes the things even worse is that the first time when I pump gas into the car, the oil pump cover just fall out. Guess what, they charged me $300 for this damage. I provided my car insurance to the rental car company when I picked up the car. And they still charged on my credit card for this damage. I will never use priceline again or Carwiz. So, if you are thinking to rent a car from this company, read this review and please avoid at all cost. Rent a car from **************** or Hertz, save your headache. Like other reviewers said this company is a totally scam, and I dont understand how they are still in business.Review fromHenrietta H

1 starCarwiz is horrible. I made a reservation on February 20, 2024 to rent a midsize car at their $5.00/day special to pick up on April 18, 2024. Received a text the night before at 5:31pm stating they did not have availability. Even though they had my reservation for two months and never contacted me. I went to the location and again they said no cars. Now no one is answering their phone, I do not have a credit. I had to pay a premium amount to rent a car last minute. DO NOT RENT FROM CARWIZ.Review fromJoe C

1 starDO NOT RENT, too good to be true. The company's business model is to get customers with incredibly low rental rates and then file damage reports charging them hundreds of Euros. They don't follow the process that reputable rental companies do, they will not do vehicle inspection with you, rush you in the car, send you the inspection report later on and once you return the car present damage that supposedly has not been there when you checked out. Typically scratches and dings that you would normally not pay attention to. Total FRAUD, stay away!Review fromTodd R

1 starThis place is terrible. It is expensive to be cheap was a place. We rented a car for 4 days in April. They hold ****** on your credit card for up to 30 days which I don't like. Next they gave us a vehicle that was only 3/4 full tank but they marked it as full, but I caught it before driving off the ****.They gave us a Mini SUV with a mechanical issues that made loud clunking noises when driving at low speeds. We called in they said bring it back but we didn't want to waste anymore time so we kept the vehicle. We return the vehicle waited over 30 days and im still waiting on my 500 deposit to be returned. Not only did they not return my deposit they recently charged my card for ***** cents yesterday. I don't know why this company keeps playing games but wasting my time calling your company an charging my card out the blue is unacceptable.
