I hired Marble Law to help with a divorce case involving custody. I feel I was mislead, as when they were about to file my divorce petition, it was going to be prose, meaning I would NOT have full representation. This is definitely not what I wanted as my children need to be in my custody, away from abuse. I can not do this without a lawyer by my side throughout the whole process. I decided to cancel services and hire a lawyer directly. *****, from their finance department, is very unprofessional. He finally texted me back after almost 2 weeks after requesting cancelation saying that 60% of the work on my plan was done and that even though I had already put $4000 down, I was still going to owe more money on the payment plan. I specifically asked him for documentation, stating what had been done, what had already been paid for, and what was still owed. I will not continue to make payments until I know how much is still owed. I would like a financial statement showing what is paid and what is still owed.Business Response

I signed a contract with Marble Law on September 8, 2023 to represent me in a divorce case. My original amount owed was $2750. I terminated the same contract October 5, 2023 due to communication issues with my assigned law firm and an admitted large error on the part of my Marble para legal. Nothing had been filed, I spoke with my legal team a total of 10 minutes and I am being held responsible for $******* to be paid out in installments through ****. After reaching out to Marble multiple times, I was granted a partial refund of ******, but was told that I would still be responsible for the remainder of the loan amount (*******). In order for the remainder of the loan amount to be adjusted or forgiven through the loan company Affirm, a request for adjustment will have to come from Marble and they refuse. I asked for an invoice from Marble to show proof that the work done on my case constituted me still owing $******* and that request was ignored multiple times. My loan id with affirm is ID: *********. I feel that a fair resolution would be to hold me accountable for the work that was actually performed with proof of the work through an invoice and forgive me/refund me the remainder of the loan.Business Response

This is the same kind of non committal, form response I have already received when I asked for any kind of further explanation or resolution to this overcharge for services. I want to see an invoice for services rendered from September 8, 2023 when I signed on to have Marble represent me to when I terminated my contract on October 5, 2023 and I want to be forgiven the remainder of my loan amount with affirm. Thank you.Business Response

They had said they were going to help me on a custody case. They up talked all this stuff that they would do. Said I would have a lawyer to help me. But all they did was file paper work with the courts and gave me one lawyer appearance in court. They charged $7000 to just file the papers with the courts and I ended up paying the filing fees. They did not tell me I would not have a lawyer, that I would have to find a different lawyer to appear in court. They also said they would file emergency hearing that they did not do. They made it seem like they would be there and was not at all. They do not have a customer contact number it took me a week to even reach out to them. I was scammed.Business Response

We are sorry to hear there was a misunderstanding of the limited scope representation that we offer. We kindly request that you review your signed agreement with us, as it does include a breakdown of what's included in the services you hired Marble Law to do. Upon review we see that you were given a courtesy discount to the total case value of $6100 on June 30, 2023. Additionally, the filing fees you paid out of pocket were applied as an additional discount to your balance on July 6, 2023.Initial Complaint

The attorney firm Marble Law, continuously refused to answer my call, I had problems with the attorney that was assigned to my case at the first week she started on my case, know she wants to withdraw from the case without finishing up. She will no longer *************, nor will the company. I am stranded in limbo with this situation. I refuse to make another payment until she finishes the services. ******************************** is the attorney assigned to me and I have made many complaints about her. I am responsible for an additional $1600.00. for her complete QDRO, and quick deed information for my home, she stated that I needed to purchase 5 more hours in which I did she used the time purchased on something else.Business Response

Upon review of your case file and communication logs we see you requested to no longer be represented by your attorney on October 25, 2023. You also declined to add the additional service to continue your case. Due to the abusive language and behavior towards our attorney Marble Law will not be able to assist you any further. We truly wish you the best on your legal journey moving forward.Initial Complaint

I signed up for their service in may after I payed 49$ for the phone call. I then spent 2000$ for the lawyer to file a petition for custody change with the court in my behalf. I have tried to contact them several times to get nothing in return. The lawyer did call me only to jerk me around telling me oh Ill check on it etc etc. I signed up and paid in may and its now almost November and nothing has been done and no contact. The only thing I was told is the lawyer is no longer with marble law and she tried to send me a contract to pay her more even though *** already paid 2000$ for nothing. I demand a refund.Business Response

In February 2023 I requested a consult with an attorney and paid the $50.00 fee. I spoke to the attorney, paid a deposit and was later advised that nothing had been filed as they didnt have copies of my signed retainer fee. I asked that as nothing had been filed and a retainer fee had not been signed to please return the deposit. Ive called every month. There is no clear direction as to how they will handle my matter.Business Response

This law firm started off like an honorable business and even offered and delivered a loan of $2000 for their service. I later found that the loan offer was a trap, the Loan scheme allows them to collect funds from their broker in your name, and when they drop you, you have a debt to your name for credit you did not receive but which they received. They are posing as a law firm but in reality, sell loans. They failed to provide clear information about the service I requested while I was forced to service the loan for 6 months, in the end, the company did not provide any service whatsoever, no single document was prepared no suit was filed, I had 2 consultations for less than ************************************************************************************** and proceeded to bill the full amount of the loan, which loan was then sold to a debt collector, the debt collector put a report on my credit file, my credit score dropped by 46 points and now I am fighting to resolve a report for a loan I did not initiate issued for a service I did not receive. This firm responds to emails after 2 months and has no phone number you can actually call to speak with an associate.I STRONGLY ADVISE any customer to be absolutely careful about dealing with this law company as it is not a law firm, and not accept an offer of a loan from them under any circumstance.Business Response

Marble strives to be an affordable legal provider that provides quality care to our clients. We offer payments plans and options for third party loan providers to those who cannot pay the full balance of service up front. Upon review we see that your legal team tried to contact you regarding a change in your service several times since July of this year and unfortunately you were unresponsive. Due to the lack of response from you we had no choice but to disengage. You have received proof of the work you were charged for via email September 12th. If you have any further questions you have been provided the number to **************** or you may contact your third party loan provider directly.Customer Answer
Date: 11/03/2023
You set up a loan, and collected full payment for a brief that involved a law suit, you did not file the law suit while I was servicing the loan, You unilaterally disengaged from the contract after you cashed out the loan, which simply means you defrauded me, because if there was no advancedloan which you set up, I would have leverage and control as a customer, but because you had received full payment using my credentials you were ok to disengage without providing service, remember I came so you could file a law suit, the suit was never filed. If I am paying you and I need sometime to revert to you, you can not disengage without refunds to me. If you do that it is fraud.Business Response

Our records show a partial refund was processed on August 16th to your loan provider. The amount refunded was increased as a courtesy due to a conversation you had with your legal team. If you have any further questions you may reach out to them directly.Customer Answer

This is another fraudulent response, what you did was transfer the loan to a debt collector, and the debt collector has registered a collection report on my credit score and this has reduced my credit score by 46 points. I dont need you to manipulate the situation, I need you to simply accept that you rescinded a service contract unilaterally and put a debt burden on me when you provided no service what soever to me, except a one time consultainon for seperate from the loan you arranged for your self and made me sign for.
