1 starIm a contractor and member of ******** company that allows us to offer financing to our clients. ********** is a lending partner of hearths. I had a client who was prequalified for a 74K loan through lightstream. This gentleman was not tech savvy and encountered issues when clicking the word (choose) directly under the particular loan offer he decided to go with. It would prompt him to enter his user ID and the last four digits of Social Security number however, when he did this, it continually came back saying they did notrecognize this information. This gentleman tried several times and knew that the information was correct. I called LightStream myself on behalf of my client asking them to give him a call to walk him through the rest of the loan process and they flat out told me no they would not do that. **************** is horrible. I guess they are so immersed in loans that they dont need our business.Review fromDaniel B

1 starI'll preface this review with the admission that I was just turned down by LightStream, both single & joint applications, for a measly $5000 - the lowest amount that you can request. My credit score, and that of my co-applicant, were in the upper ranges of "good". I will say that I took out a $13k RV loan with them back in 2018 without any issues - however, they were owned by ********. I managed to pay off that loan EARLY. I recently received an offer letter from them as a "previous customer". Needing a small Home Improvement loan, I applied as mentioned above, Being an IT Professional for 25 years, I will say that their website ********************** is sorely lacking. If you get "declined" for whatever reason - perhaps you have a "credit freeze" at one of the big 3 credit bureaus - you have to start all over again with the application process - up to and including creating a new user ****************** each time - not good at all. LightStream does have a reputation for hard to get approval from - in spite of the "marketing" on their website. From my experience, I'll say it's well earned.Review fromHeather R

1 starVery deceiving, the site offers a low rate with excellent credit on a consolidated loan. I apparently had excellent credit as it did state after my hard pull which my term was only offered with excellent credit but was given a 16 percent rate when 9 percent was offered if you have excellent credit. I will not waste another hard pull in the future with LightStream/Truist bank! I was refinancing my loan that I had with Sofi since I saw a better rate but I still have a better rate with Sofi than what was offered. I will not use LightStream in the future.Review fromJoanne S

1 starI have received almost a dozen calls all from different numbers. I have blocked every number only to get another call from a new number. I called their number on the website and told them that if I received 1 more call I would be reporting them to the BBB (who has given them an A rating in spite of all the negative reviews) and the Attorney General they hung up on me!Review fromTravis M

1 starAbsolutley awful! No support, no way to contact. Joint loan both having 798 credit scores with high salaries and were denied. Generic reasons, and took a hard hit. Went to SoFi and was approved in minutes and had funds in 2 days. Stay away from this place, even with perfect credit and perfect DTI ratio, we were declined. The reviews for this place are horrible! They also disabled thier review tab on the companies FB page.Review fromDevon W

1 starAwful ***************** Staff with poor knowledge. Ignorant of their own procedures and unwilling to offer any help.I had a loan w/ Lightstream for many years and made all my payments on time. When I hit some hard times, I followed through with their payment relief program. When the end of my terms w/ their relief program were coming up, I reached out early multiple times to discuss my options. I asked for extensions and payment plans. All of their employees just referred me to applying for an extension. Every time I was denied. I told them I didn't want to become negligent. I want to work with them to pay this loan back. Different employees told me different things. "I had to wait until the end of my next pay period", "I had to actually be negligent to update any payment plans", "I had to completely end the payment relief program to discuss new payment options". I followed, confirmed and checked in multiple times and still at the end of the program was told there was nothing they could do. I checked in and explained how I had reached out early and their final statement was that I needed to wait 90 days until my account was past due. Only then would another department be able to discuss a payment plan. This sounded foolish to me, but I confirmed in on different days w/ different employees. All of whom confirmed this. SO, I waited. And Lightstream checked in every month asking me for payments, where I had to refer them to their own notes about my account. And again. Every employee I spoke w/ confirmed that at the end of the 90s I would be contacted to discuss a payment plan. Once those 90 days. I spoke with an agent and they said I would be contacted shortly. Months went by and today I was charged $700 as an offset w/ no warning. When I log in, all my information is wiped. All history of my previous records were inaccessible. Absolute Joke and I am left to be a fool.Review fromEL G

1 starReally hard to work with. Their automatic/AI paystub parsing program couldn't read my husband's paystub. We tried to get a human to look at it, but they just kept sending the same automated notice that it was missing information that was clearly right there on the form.Review fromWanda G

1 starAbout one week ago, I received a call from someone allegedly working for LightStream Finance telling me that I was eligible for a loan. Believing that this was a legitimate company with a legitimate application process, personal and banking information was taken over the phone. Afterwards, I was told to input information into the bank verification portal that was accessed via a link that was emailed to me. on the portal, I provided my name, social security number and phone number, the name of my financial institution, the user name and password to the mobile application. I was also told by this gentleman that a small amount would be deposited into the account to verify the account and that I had to go send it back. I was also told that by doing this, this would increase my credit score. Well, the amounts deposited into my account were returned back via making payments at ******* off of my debit card. I was informed by one of my creditors that a payment made three months ago was reverese, and it was then that I discovered that several payments taken out of my checking account were reversed. On top of that, two checks were deposited into my account that turned out to be fraudulent and a third check is being held for a week by the bank for verification. The fraud was reported to my bank and my local law enforcement agency. The bank tells me I am on the hook for nearly $1000 from the fraudulent checks and how I have to go back to those I paid bills to out of my account and explain the fraud that has happened to me. This needs to be investigated before someone else becomes a victim of these scammers.Review fromKellie L

1 starNEVER USE. Scam 100% They actually threatened me that a black car would be at my house in 30 minutes when I closed my credit card AND changed my actual checking account number when I realized I was being scammed. I have the voicemail. They also told me in that same voicemail to "stay safe". I was at my ********** branch closing all my accounts and they listened to that voicemail. They heard that I literally was being threatened. ***** gave me the non emergency police phone number due to the actual threat that was made. This lender told me to go outside and look for the black car. Of course I didn't take their threats that seriously but enough to lock my door and look out my window. These people should be put in jail.
