    After using coinbase for 5 plus years and spending thousands of dollars in trasactions and "coinbase one" I was suddenly banned from buying or adding funds for quite literally no reason. This company proceeds to give me copy and paste responses like "we are so sorry this is happening to you!"Cut the *** Then they file 3 tickets to forward to a "specialist team" where they decided to uphold my ban and try again in 30 days. "We look forward to hearing from you in 30 days to try and resolve this" WTF DO YOU MEAN???TOTAL SCAM COMPANY. STAY AWAY. FAR AWAY.

    I purchased various crypto currency several years ago and left it in my account to see if it would increase in value. Recently, I check on my account and decided to cash it out and take the proceeds of about $30,000. But my account was blocked due to newer security requirements that were not required at the time of purchase. With some difficulty, I managed to finally satisfy enough of the new security requirements to be able to sale my holdings. But there were still new unanswered security requirements that I have not been able to satisfy. As a result, Coinbase still has my money and I cannot Transfer it out to my bank. So, bottom line, I could start an account and send money, but they changed their security requirements, They deny me access to my own money.

    Hi a few years ago I made an account when crypto became more popular on the app. I had changed phones and couldnt get access to my account to change my phone number on file, over the last few years of trying to email and call their customer service Ive gotten absolutely no help. I cant use their phone lines because I dont have access to the number, their email support never replies only sends me surveys on how good of a job did they do helping my issue which Ive never talked to anyone so I dont even fill it out. I saw recently someone went through you all and finally had success getting their account back, I know this is a long shot but a chance is better than nothing. I dont know if I have anything worth it on the account its been so long since Ive had access, I just want to be able to sign back in and have access to the trading platform because its been the most easy experience besides the terrible and non existent customer service.

    On 2/9/2024 My coinbase account was hacked and my funds were stolen. I reported to coinbase on very same day I came across and also filed a local police complaint. However coinbase blames me inturn for this hacking and unauthorized funds embezzlement. I have not shared my credentials or phone or email with anyone else. I trusted in this company and put my money here and they are not taking any responsibility for this theft and no actions have been taken to recover my funds and they have denied to recover my list funds. I don't know how is this legally possible.

    I made a coinbase account to buy and sell crypto as an investment account. They let me buy HBAR and XRP on their platform initially. Then when I went to see if I could buy more or sell it, they would not give me the option. Their app now states those crypto currencies are not tradeable in my region. Their app should not have let me purchase it in the first place then. Now I lost my money and they will not let me speak to a supervisor claiming they are not accepting calls. They will not provide me a refund, and their solutions they offered, even as they walked me through them, don't actually work. They wanted me to create a certain type of digital wallet, and when I followed their steps, their app still does not let me transfer my funds. So they have my money but won't give me it back and told me I'm out of luck.

    I went to transfer cash out of my Coinbase account to my Citi account on 2/22/2024 for a total of $2940.16. There were options to use Instant transfer or Standard transfer which takes 1-3 days. BOTH options showed $0.00 Fee. I selected Instant. When I checked my ********* account, it showed the amount deposited was $2888.71. I received an email from Coinbase stating there is a banking fee of $51.45. I contacted Coinbase asking them what the issue is, they said this is a ********* fee. I contacted *********, **** stated that they do not charge for instant transfers. I went back and forth again and **** told me on their side they can see the fee was taken out before the money reached them. Sounds to me like Coinbase took a fee after showing they wouldnt, and is putting blame on my bank, and now is refusing to refund money they know is mine. This is straight up misleading the customer and theft. I want my money refunded to me.

    I am rejecting this response because Coinbase is now claiming they DO charge for Instant transfers. I have provided a screen shot of their website saying instant transfer to Citi is $0 fee. On top of that, I have screen shots of Coinbase customer service assuring me that they did NOT charge me a fee. The response claims I will see a confirmation screen with all the details of the transfer including fees, but there was no confirmation, there was no mention of fees, or I would NOT have initiated the transfer.

    So Coinbase, you first deny charging me the fee, shifting blame to my bank. Now that I am accusing you of fraudulently taking my money and trying to get  my money back, youre trying to legitimize the charge by shifting the blame to me?

    I decided to buy crypto xrp at Coinbase. I transferred the money and bought the coin, so far no issues. However, I wanted to transfer the funds, however, Coinbase decided to prevent me from doing this by saying it takes 3-5 days to clear the funds but still allowed me to buy crypto for the full amount.The hold on the funds is worse than a regular bank, this is problem #1 with Coinbase, other brokers don't do this (and yes, I'm moving my business to another broker). Once the 5 days were up I requested my crypto to be transferred, at this time Coinbase decided to put a hold on my transfer for another 72 hours because they wanted to make sure it is me asking for it (this is absolute BS), I could break the hold if I provided my ID in a verification process. I did this, 3 times, however, Coinbase decided that it still would hold it despite me following the guidelines and rules.Coinbase is trying to hold your funds for unknown reasons and their support is beyond useless. I urge SEC to investigate Coinbase and its operations which seem to be suspicious and the fact that they are looking to hold peoples funds for no reason is making this broker absolutely useless.

    Unfortunately this email doesn't provide any further improvement on your services. You stated you take security seriously, yet, I provide a 2-way authentication to get into my account, I provided my ** in order to release the transfer sooner per your process but you still decided to hold it for 72 hours after I provided everything I was supposed to provide to remove the hold. The fact that I provided a 2-way authentication should have been enough since I have been a customer long enough and ***** authentication via random code is very hard to break without quantum computer, however, having a process that means absolutely nothing since you decided to still hold my funds despite me providing the ** and your support not being able to get a supervisor on the support chat to release my funds further discredit your support and the HUGE lack of support. 

    This is also not the first time this happened to me with you guys, you hold coins in your brokerage longer than any other broker on the market, yet having a direct deposit into my account which according to your documentation would avoid a hold but yet AGAIN, that is also not true, basically, a complete failure just in order for you to hold your customers funds longer than necessary. You know as well as I do that funds clear in seconds, I have validated everything multiple times and you still hold my funds for 5 days and blame the bank for not clearing the money and then an additional 72 hours, that's beyond ridiculous.

    I will keep the complaint at BBB since you have yet again failed to provide adequate support to your customer and I am only one out of thousands of customers that feel the same but you seem to put a blind eye to that since holding money and being able to report a bigger holding is better for your stock price and your investors than making right by your customers.
    I'm interested in hearing of some form of compensation for this absolute failure in service and support, until then, my complaint will stay open with BBB and I will continue to provide this insight to as many people as I can so they can educate themselves of your failures and think twice before signing up with you until you fix this.

    I am rejecting this response because offering me $10 as a band aid on a transaction over $1500 isn't a solution that I'm willing to accept, you kept my money for a total of 9 days. This is worse than a bank performance that only holds your large funds for 2-3 days but Coinbase holds the funds up to 5 days and then slaps another 72 hours on top of that, how can you be a crypto company when you miss the whole idea of crypto and accessibility of crypto, especially when you have already verified your users with 2-way authentication but still require additional verification and even after that still hold the money. This has nothing to do with following regulations, it has with you being able to show a certain fund level for as long as possible, you would otherwise be able to at least release the funds at the same timeframe as banks. However, the whole concept of crypto is to not be as banks but provide the same ability but at a much faster transaction speed but you are not interested in that.

    You want this case to close, you can pay 25% of my total transaction which was over $1500 (you know what it was).

    Coinbase is a crypto exchange. They recently had an offer to subscribe to a service called Coinbase One whereby you get $10k worth of trading fees be at zero cost per month. First month was free, second month was ***** and thereafter it would be *****. When I signed up nowhere did it mention that it had to be on a specific trading platform. So all this Ive been trading thinking i was paying 0 trading fees. When I went back and checked I got charged fees for all my trades. I contacted them and they said they wouldnt be able to reverse my trading fees and they Couldnt refund me my monthly fees paid. When I asked why I was getting charged the trading fees they said that the trades had to be simple trades. To me my trades were simple trades. They Couldnt even define what simple trades were. So at this point in time they refuse to accept responsibility for their actions. They wont give me back my trading fees Ive paid this far nor would they refund me back my monthly fees.

    Coinbase One fee-free trading is not currently extended to Coinbase Advanced Trade. We are unable to refund the fees charged for your Advanced Trades. Coinbase Advanced Trade and Simple Trade are held within the same platform. 

    Why was I still charged a trading fee?
    There may be a couple reasons why you are seeing a trading fee: 
    You may have exceeded your trading cap for the month. You can check this in your account settings. 
    Make sure that you are using the Simple Trade feature in Coinbase. Coinbase One fee-free trading is not currently extended to Advanced Trade.

    When you buy a crypto sometimes they are automatically staked (meaning you cant sell them unless you unstake them). The problem is Coinbase takes too long to unstake them and all the while they are accruing interest. Then, they send you a notification saying they have been unstaked. Trouble is - they dont zero out completely and they are essentially forcing you to continue with the platform. I spent an hour on the chat box 2 days ago and its still happening. Also, you cant email them or call them and so theyre a very unethical company to do business with.

    I opened an account with ********************** October 2023 and it seemed like right away I began having issues. They placed a 30 day hold on a bank deposit I made and I was told it was to prevent any type of losses due to the nature of the crypto market. I decided to wait it out and then after *************************************************************** to transfer my crypto assets to my external hard wallet. Their customer service asked me a series of questions as to why I wanted to make the transfers and I explained to keep my assets safe in my own wallet. They continued with the restriction and even placed a buying restriction so then I could not buy or send any of my crypto and when I asked as to why I had been placed under such unexpected and unwarranted restrictions they said they did not have to give me any reason. I submitted a formal complaint to find an exact reason as to why I was being treated this way because I chatted with a rep and I was informed that it could possibly be due to the fact that I was using a VPN which triggered my account. Later on the complaint officer refused to help me or give me any explanation. I also attempted to add another bank account but I was told I was also not allowed to do that either. Yesterday I made a sell order and only 24% of it was filled and now the remaining amount that didn't get filled is going down in value because the value of the asset has gone down which is causing me to lose an ongoing amount of money. I'm worried that it *** be due to my account being restricted for a reason I am unaware of. I am concerned because I have almost $54,000 with Coinbase that *** be in jeopardy and the worse part is there seems to be nothing I can do and Coinbase is unwilling to do anything either. I am not a scammer. I am a US army veteran and I recently retired from the Houston fire department. I have served my country and my city and all I ask is that I be treated fairly.     I am rejecting this response because: I have not been given a specific reason or explanation as to why I am being restricted from sending my assets. I do not believe it is asking too much to be able to send my crypto to my hard wallet for safe keeping. I have grown more concerned after the Coinbase shutdown that occured only 2 days ago and my account balance was showing $0. If I had my assets in my hard wallet where they were safe then I would have felt much more secure and I would be able to avoid anything like this in the future. I have more than 100k in Coinbase and I want to keep my assets safe and secure. All I want is to be able to buy on Coinbase, transfer my assets to my hard wallet and then when I am ready to sell, I will transfer back to Coinbase to sell. I have done nothing wrong to be treated like this. The only thing a customer service rep told me was that it could have been due to the fact that I was using a VPN once which I have not turned off. I would have never used a VPN if I would have known that Coinbase would place a restriction on my account. 

    I will continue to submit complaints and take all appropriate action until my sending restrictions have been lifted. Please let me know if any additional information is required of me to resolve this.

    I am rejecting this response because: No problem. I will continue to submit complaints on BBB and on Coinbase until I get the sending restrictions lifted or I get a thorough explanation other than the generic one that I have been getting. Does not hurt me at all to continue to waste your time because you have already wasted my time and money.

    After reviewing your issue, we have identified that we are not able to fulfill your request of removing the restrictions in your account at this time. We have exhausted our internal resources by providing you other options in sending out your crypto. As previously mentioned, you'll need to convert your crypto to cash and transfer the funds to your verified bank account.

    In the past, other customers have tried this option and can still trade in our platform.

    We are not able to further assist you with this issue and will be closing this case. If you have any questions unrelated to this issue, please open a new case via our chat support.
