Hello, I have been using patreon service from Japan. On 5/2 of this year, $100.8 was deducted from my ****** for the annual fee. I contacted patreon asking them to cancel the contract and they replied that they would refund the $92.4 for 11 months. However, over 2 months later, I still have not received my refund. I have corresponded with them several times via email and have not received a satisfactory response from them. Attached is our email correspondence to date. I received an email from Patreon saying, "I regret to inform you that we are unable to process a refund for the payment in question. A dispute was initiated on this transaction prior to our initiation of the refund process, and as a result, we are unable to proceed with the refund. I recommend that you get in touch with your payment "
I told ****** that Patreon said they couldn't pay me because of a dispute with ****** and asked them to investigate, but ****** said there was no dispute and told me to ask Patreon about the specifics of the dispute.
And I just sent an inquiry email to Patreon.
They have used a similar excuse to get me to contact ****** before. I feel like they are just trying to buy time by repeating the same thing again.

On June 24, 2024 or there about I signed up on Patreon for the Cottage Fairy t0 pay $5.00 per month on the ******* channel. I was under the understanding that it would be easy to cancel my membership if I wanted to opt out. They sent me two emails with instructions that absolutely do not work on my iPad or iPhone. I contacted them stating that I am a senior citizen and that the supposedly clear instructions do not work with both my iPad and iPhone. I asked them if they could please cancel my membership as I only live on social security and just lost my health care option. That I can no longer afford this monthly payment. Im having Cataract surgery in both eyes and need help navigating the internet. They replied by sending me the same instructions that I clearly told them in the first email that I they dont work. I think that this is considered Elder Abuse and I told them If I have to I will involve my State Representative here in *************. I must emphasize that such actions potentially constitute violations of several consumer protection statutes under United States law. Moreover, the Fair Credit Billing Act (15 U.S.C. 1666) mandates prompt resolution of billing disputes and obligates creditors to address billing errors in a timely manner. On two occasions (maybe more, I only saw 2 in my bank records) i was charged for the amount of a membership I used to be subscribed to. After a couple days I got an email back from someone named ****. I sent my initial email on JUNE 7th, 2024, I didnt receive your first response until June 14th! It is now the 21st and still this matter has not been resolved. The agent assigned to me has been unhelpful. Her initial response was directing me elsewhere. It takes her about three days to get back to me to just state known information that I PROVIDED in my INITIAL email.Responding to this complaint with a generic message redirecting me to emailing you guys just reiterates what I said.
I intend to spread awareness! Patreon app is a scam. You guys delete our profile and charge the card on file so we have no access to remove it then you give us the run around to be refunded hoping we will tire out and walk away. You met the right one! This is not right.
I expect to be refunded and I stated this in my June 7th email. I have come to this point submitting a BBB complaint because this whole experience has felt like a scam.

I have read the Refund Policy and my situation does not apply. The policy states that its the creators responsibility to issue a refund. In my case the app itself deleted my profile restricting me from access to my memberships therefore I reached out via email on 6/7/24 requesting a refund. The first agent, ****, confirmed this was an error with the app and is not something the creators can resolve so she escalated me to another team. On 7/7/24 an **** reached out to me starting at square one, referencing the Refund Policy!!!
I am not the first who has had this issue with this app. They intentionally delete your profile, give you a run around hoping the customer tires out and accept their losses.I am not submitting another email because it is not my fault that it takes Pateon 39 DAYS and counting to resolve my issue. Why should I submit another case when this one is not resolved?!!!

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Patreon regarding their failure to refund my funds and the unsatisfactory customer service I have experienced over the past four months.On April 12, 2024, I requested a refund of $162.00 from Patreon due to the course being canceled. Despite following the company's procedures and providing all necessary documentation, I have yet to receive my refund.Over the past four months, I have contacted Patreon numerous times via email to inquire about the status of my refund. Each time, I have been given inconsistent and vague responses by various employees. I have been promised callbacks that never occurred, redirected to different departments, and given conflicting information regarding the status of my refund. This company is trash. I signed up to pay for a month of someone's Patreon because I liked their content. I did not give consent to charge me a second time. The creator did not respond to my messages and then Patreon refused to give me a refund. Again, I did not give consent for the charge. Just like another review said, they basically gave me a "not my problem" type of response, and then continued to ignore me for a couple weeks. This company is an absolute scam.Business Response

I am rejecting this response. That is ridiculous that you claim that this issue has been resolved. I have been constantly trying to contact you guys for the last two weeks and you guys keep ignoring me. I've sent in many emails through the support center that you tell me to use. Again, you guys constantly ignore me and the issue has NOT been resolved. I'm still waiting for my $29 refund. Absolutely ridiculous.

I am rejecting this response because this is the same copy and paste response that I keep getting. This is a joke. My issue has not been resolved because they refuse to give me a $29 refund. They claim that it is against their policy but when I read their refund policy, it doesn't say that there are any strict rules against it. This company keeps lying and still refuses to refund me on a charge that I did not give consent for.

Is anyone seeing how they keep responding with the same copy and paste response every time? What a joke of a company. It's ok, I already got a refund through my bank by filing the charge as a fraudulent charge. Patreon is such a shady company. What a scam.

I keep getting billed by Patreon even though I have no memberships and I deleted my payment method from on file. They keep charging me randomly and I have emailed them multiple times to resolves this and they have not.Business Response

The user opened two tickets, one in February and then another one in May, to which our team responded. However, there was no further reply from the user to any of those tickets.
