*********************** passed away on April 27, 2024. Patreon has an automatic subscription service for which they sent out daily emails to ***********************. Since *** has passed away, he has not received the services. In addition, he was in the hospital on a respirator for days before April 27th while waiting to be an Organ Donor. ***'s wife, ***** *****, contacted Patheon to stop the recurring charge (through PayPal) to ***'s credit card. I have requested reimbursement of $55 for the Automatic Payments on the following dates:1. May 26, 2024 for $15 2. May 1, 2024 for $25 3. April 26, 2024 for $15 I tried contacting Patheon via their online portal as they do not have a phone number to call or an email address available to document the multiple requests to terminate the automatic payment for the subscription. In addition, I did not receive an email confirmation when submitting the online form. I still have not heard a response from my multiple online requests via their website for canceling his subscription as well as for reimbursement. I was successful with PayPal to have PayPal terminate the ability for Patreon to be able to charge ***. There is no Account Number associated with ***'s account and all I could find is that his account is associated with his email address of [email protected] have attached ******'s death certificate to reflect his passing and how he would be unable to read their emails on trading, which is the subscription service he was paying for. I am rejecting this response because Patreon states "our team is actively working with the user since May 18th" and "we are addressing their concerns". I have not received any communication from Patreon. In addition, they have provided no documentation for their "active working" to myself or BBB.In addition, Patreon stated to BBB "please note, our support team works on a queue basis and answers the requests in the order they receive them". If that is true, then how were they able to respond to BBB within 48 hours and I have had zero communication in over 3 weeks and have reached out multiple times via their website portal.

Ticket number *******. I withdrew funds on may 14th. Money never showed up to bank account. I contacted my bank and they say they have no record of any attempt at a deposit. I contacted patreon multiple times now and there is zero resolve. Ive asked for updates days in a row and zero communication. This is a very well known issue with their site. I am rejecting this response because:
I have been asking for over a week for resolution. The support is non existent. Days on days without response and this agent seems to be lying about actually reaching out to the appropriate channel. Never in my life have i seen such an awful lack of customer service. There are years and years of this same issue noted all over the internet. Im not the only user encountering this issue with their weak payment system. It shouldnt take a week to return it to the patreon account. The agent just keeps dilly dallying with my money. I will be reporting them to the ftc next if they continue to hold my funds hostage! maybe the news outlets considering theres so many users having this same problem with this company. Seems they are due for an internal investigation into their practices.

I am rejecting this response because:The Patreon's response is completely false.
They sent an email detailing a false and fraudulent copyright claim on May 16 2024 at 06:41 am. That e-mail noted "ticket id #*******"
We responded in great detail explaining that the claim was false and fraudulent on the same day at 11:24 am. We provided a detailed explanation and significant proof that the claim was false, misleading and fraudulent.
No reply was received from Patreon, so we sent two followup e-mails on May 17, 2024 at 1:43 pm.
No communication was received from Patreon until May 20, 2024, 11:09?am. This e-mail false claimed that "I haven't heard back from you". By May 20 more than 5 emails were sent to ************************************************* and ***********************************.
After receiving this e-mail we again immediately responded to both ************************************************* and *********************************** pointing out that they had failed acknowledge any of our previous e-mails, and had ignored our request to provide information on how to resolve the complaint.
Since May 20 we have continued to send e-mails to *************************************************, ************************************ ****************************** and ************************************** all of which have gone ignored.
Patreon has occasionally sent a useless, irrelevant and false form letter that claims they are "working on it" and will reply within ***** hours (they have not).We also reached out to ******************************************* but received only irrelevant automated responses falsely claiming that the issue is "being worked on".
There appears to be no way to reach a real person at Patreon and this appears to be by design.
Copies of our emails to Patreon were sent both from my personal e-mail ************************* and from our general company e-mail *****************
We replied directly to Patreon's original email and also copied all the details into their support ticket platform at *****************************************Other than irrelevant automated replies, all of our communications have been ignored to date. We have sent more than 10 emails as of May 22, 02:11 pm and have provided irrefutable evidence that the copyright claim against us is false, misleading and downright fraudulent.

On July 5th 2022, I received a request from a friend of mine who was joining Patreon, he asked for people to become members and observe his art content, receive art for their monthly contributions. I signed up, the first charge came August 1, 2022. Sometime in September not having seen any contribution from my friend the artist, I asked him how it was going and he said he cancelled his Patreon account and wasn't going forward with their website at all, he said he'd refund the $55 (***** with tax). Never was there any exchange of goods or services, never did the creator utilize his page, no posts, no services, no goods. Patreon continued to charge me $***** /month and send NO email or any communication about the recurring charge. Being that I use the credit card for business and charge staging and photography services to it, my monthly balance is typically over 4 or 5k per month so the $58 charge every month didn't set off alarms for me when the balance was debited from my account. In January of 2024 I hired a bookkepper and upon going through everything we discovered I had been charged 18 times by Patreon, with no emailed invoices or records, for an account that had been cancelled by the creator and never used. I emailed Patreon and after 3 months of back and forth communication they said they would review and process a refund, they asked me to provide them basic information which was easy to do since nothing was ever exchanged and they just collected money every month which is documented. Today they said they would ONLY refund ONE month of the 18. Where did this ******** go? Not to the creator or refunded to me. Again, their refund policy is not valid here because I'm not returning anything, I have NEVER received anything. That's like ordering a cake, never getting it and the bakery saying sorry, our policy is no refunds on cake. Where is the money? This is fraud.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: See attached email from Patreon saying they will not respond via their customer portal any longer. They refunded $58.69 of the $1,056.42 in disputed charges. Again, it's not a refund it's flat our FRAUD. I was charged, no email invoices were sent before charging each month, no good were received, no services were received. I was charged, where did the money go? Not to the creator of the cancelled account that has ZERO activity or posts on it period. This is Fraud. If the funds are not credited back to me in full, I will proceed with a charge back and all the documentation/communication with Patreon prior to them saying "we will no longer communicate with you."

I am rejecting this response because: I have been emailing the Patreon "support" team back and forth for months and gotten a run around with responses from different members and getting no resolution. After months of messaging I decided to go through the BBB. The last "support" person I communicated with stated that they were only willing to refund me one month of 18 months of charges. Charges for what? No goods or services were provided, yet I was continually charged and not until my book keeper caught these erroneous charges and I deleted my credit card all together did the charging stop. Their customer "support" is a sham, designed to frustrate people and their billing practices are literally fraudulent.If I don't get a legitimate response here on this complaint, I will go to my bank and initiate a charge back for every erroneous charge.

This company refuses to provide accurate 1099 reports as well as accurate financial reports of any kind. Payout and earnings reports conflict with one another. The company charges high undisclosed fees. It is impossible to file taxes or reconcile earnings from Patreon because they refuse to acknowledge errors and inconsistencies in their reports and they refuse to provide corrected reports.Failure to provide accurate 1099s is also probably a violation of US law.Well be opening new tickets daily until you assign this to someone that understands basic mathematics The "patreon-creator-analytics-earnings report says we had total earnings of $100,599.96. This is supposed to be gross sales which they call total charged less processing fee, patreon fee, declines (if any) and currency conversion fee (if any). For Calendar year 2023 there is a discrepancy of $225 between gross sales - deductions and the figure Patreon calls your total earningsPatreon's creator-analytics-payouts report says we only earned $89,561.65, this is obviously a huge discrepancy.Furthermore, the amounts withdrawn and transferred do not match either of the earnings reports ($98,669.47 and $98,653.72). None of the figures Patreon provides add up mathematically or logically.The 1099 report is also in error and Patreon has refused for weeks to provide a corrected report. I joined Patreon approximately December 2023/January 2024. Soon thereafter, I attempted to terminate my membership without success. I contacted the company on numerous occasions and was assured the membership had been cancelled; however, my bank account continued to be billed $10 per month to $40 of unauthorized withdrawals for a service I did not want and did not use. I have requested a refund from Patreon but as of this date have not received any refund or correspondence regarding return of the unauthorized withdrawals. I am retired and cannot afford to lose even $40. I have proof of the unauthorized charges on my bank account if needed. I appreciate the BBB's assistance in getting my refund.Business Response
