Hi Yelp,I just talked to you yelp and I feel exploited by you. You talked me into ads. I talked to you for a long time & asked many times if it was going to charge me *********** said no. You said that I would be getting $1200 of free ads through the promo ********* would only charge me after I used up the free ads.I realized that I was charged $150 on the 8/16. I called yelp today & someone said that they could refund me the $150 but that he can't refund me the rest of the money that's been accumulated since the 16th which is about $210. He also said that I might be charged $1200! Which is something I can't afford because I'm in a really dire situation financially right now. I was really clear with you that I am in a bleak money situation so I can't believe you lied to me & now I have to face the consequences of that. The person I talked to today said that he can't refund me the $150 if I cancel the ads. Therefore, I would I like a full refund of everything I've been charged since starting this ads program 10 days ago. On top of all of this, I've been getting 9 spam calls every day since signing up for yelp ads, which equals 90 spam calls total! When I tried cancelling my ads 7 days ago I couldn't figure out how to cancel them through the *********** quite tech savvy). They said that I've been given 70 page visits which I assume were all from the spam calls. They said that I got 9 leads which have not materialized. I haven't gotten any calls from yelp leads, I've only gotten spam ********* know because I answer every call. I haven't gotten anyone messaging me through the form on my site. I did get one Yelp message from a lead but it didn't come with a phone number. Anytime I've messaged someone back through yelp I get no response. I feel like I've been taken advantage of & I would like a full refund for the ads which I were told were free, weren't helpful at all, & only gave me spam calls.

******** *****, called out of the blue, usually these Ad "check-in" calls are prescheduled to respect business owners busy schedule and call line to potential leads. Each and every time he calls, I drop everything I am doing to answer and review anything he wants me to. Never does he start with the call asking "Is this a good time?" Where is his customer service and manners? 10 mins in his usual spiel, it's the same over and over, his main and stubborn goal is to get you to sign up something so his department makes money, so his job is still intact. I called their 855 support number, guess who it led to, same person! ******** now says he is the Senior Manager in his department and there's no one else above him he can transfer me to for my complaint of his customer service, wow, mind-blown. Now I am wondering if he is the only worker in his own "department", no wonder his mannerism is so poor when it comes to handling push backs. What out when you are receiving a call from Yelp Ads, they are truly caring about their failing department over businesses' success.

Yelp has overcharged my small startup business even though I had set a spending budget via their portal. Yet they still surpassed the amount and charged my credit card. They also mislead me about being charged on the 1st of the month. Instead of helping small businesses, they are hurting them. I will never recommend YELP to anyone.

Never run ads with this company. I was sold on a cold call, and it was a terrible decision. They did not explain the promotional credits properly. When I attempted to cancel the ads, they continued running. They did not respond to my emails, and instead forced me to call so they could apply pressure and tell me that there was nothing they could do. They did nothing to the bill besides threaten to send it to collections unless I paid it. Absolutely terrible company. Not to mention, people that use yelp for reviews tend to be the worst kind of client

Yelp is literally a scam. They ran 1 ad for me and continued to charge me repeatedly with ridiculous excuses, and set me up for "upgraded services" that I never asked for and they didn't disclose to me when I "cancelled" all services. I had to Dispute the charges on my Credit Card. ALSO, you can't Review them on ****** which is about as Shady as it gets. One time, we had a bad review from a disgruntled employee and they wouldn't remove it because it wouldn't be "genuine" yet you can't even pull up a page to tell people AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!

Yelp Is Hurting Small Businesses Manipulating ***************** Ads Im a small business owner who has worked hard for years to build a great reputation and serve my customers with honesty and excellence. Unfortunately, Yelp has become one of the most damaging forces against that effort. If you dont pay Yelp for advertising, they make it nearly impossible for your real customer feedback to be seen. Ive watched genuine, 5-star reviews from real clients get hidden in their Not Recommended section while a handful of negative ones stay fully visible. This is not a fair reflection of my businessand its not just me. A quick look at the Better Business Bureau shows hundreds of similar complaints from other owners across the country, many saying the same thing: positive reviews vanish, negative ones get pushed to the top, and the pressure to invest in Yelp ads becomes *********** feels like pay-to-play. Either you spend big money with them or you risk your reputation being distorted for the world to see. The BBB is full of stories of unfair billing, non-refunded charges, and Yelp refusing to make things right. Even the documentary Billion Dollar Bully exposes how their business model seems designed to strong-arm small businesses into paying just to protect the reputation theyve already earned. This kind of manipulation doesnt just hurt business ownersit misleads customers, undermines trust, and damages local economies. Yelp should be a platform that connects customers with honest feedback, not a tool that holds our reputations hostage. If you value fairness, transparency, and supporting local small businesses, think twice before trusting Yelps review system.

I tried a yelp account to expand my clientele and I tried to learn how to use it. I was charged more than I thought. I told them to close my account. I found out later. They kept stuff on the account instead of deleting it. I called **** times to have them remove and correct information. Emailed I got a question. Why do I want to change my name and phone number? Why did I want to delete a private website that a 3rd party is letting me use for MY USE not business. I tried to explain this to them. They said that I was part of ****************** I explained to them that it was closed 10 yrs ago. I am a single agent. Not a business with a store front with a logo or a sign on some building. They claim I had to show proof so they could change the info. Cant if ya dont have a building or a sign SMH!! I said NO I want all my stuff off your site period. Arguing on the phone & through emails. I kept asking them to change my stuff It got locked then unblocked for me to change it. . Finally we got to remove some stuff. Thinking everything was A OK. Someone took it upon themselves to put the 3rd party website back on. For Questions on Business Listing Information If your Business Listing information is incorrect or youd like to suggest changes, this can be done directly via the Yelp Business Owners App or directly on a business listing on ***** For more information please visit our ** here WHEN ONE TRIES TO CHANGE IT YOU QUESTION IT AND CHANGE IT BACK SO THERE GOES THAT!!!!! THEN YOU GET THIS yelp will use publicly available information to validate changes made to your profile. Please provide further information here if you think it will help us.The tools I use for a website isnt public they never went looked and found it its 3rd party. EXPLAIN WHY YOU UPDATED WEBSITE LINK--- REPEATEDLY ITS NOT A WEBSITE... REMOVE IT, they did and then put it back. ***..

Yelp conned me into running ads and upgrades. And then they charge per lead. They also charge every time somebody clicks on your company. The only potential customers that contacted me were running scams. This ended up costing my company a lot of money in time and effort and fees that had to be paid to yelp. I have canceled all my service and advertising on yelp. Also, every lead that I received and paid them for never amounted to getting any business at all. I lost more than $500 to yelp in just their fees in just 3-4 months of using them.
