I am writing to formally address a serious issue regarding my recent experience with **************************. In July 2024, I used HotelsinAmerica's website to reserve a ************ accommodation for two people in *******, **, during the month of August 2024. The purchase was completed through their check-out process. I specifically selected this hotel because it is a Hilton property, and as a Hilton Honors member, I was looking forward to the additional benefits and perks. Below are the details provided by HotelsinAmerica: - Confirmation # B_15112758 - Name of Hotel: ************** - Address: **************************** - Check-In: August 10, 2024 - Check-Out: August 13, 2024 - Total Cost: USD ****** Upon arriving at the address provided, my wife and I quickly discovered that no such ************ exists at that location. Instead, we found that the establishment is actually the Coast Seattle Downtown Hotel by ***, which is neither owned nor managed by *************This situation constitutes a clear case of false advertising, as I was led to believe via clear advertisements that I was purchasing a stay at a ************. The ************************** website misleadingly displays this hotel as the **************. I have contacted Hotelsinamerica to request a refund, but their response stated that my reservation became non-refundable and non-amendable as of August 7, 2024.I want to emphasize that under the California Business and Professions Code (BPC) *****, it is unlawful to make false or misleading statements in advertising. Advertising a ************ while actually selling a different property such as the Coast ********************** by *** is not only misleading but unacceptable. Despite my attempts to bring this to their attention, Hotelsinamerica has failed to correct or remove the deceptive advertisement.********************************************************************************************************************************************************************Customer Answer

I booked a hotel through hotels in america. My hotel had a problem where there was no water available in the hotel for 2 days in a row on Dec 1st since 6am and no water even on Dec 2nd. My hotel (*******************-north) told me that I can ask for refund through the channel I booked the hotel. I didnt book the hotel directly with the hotel. I booked hotel through Hotels In America and hotel hyatt wants me to file a claim with Hotels in America to ask for refund. Hotel is ready to refund. I called Hotels in America for refund and told then the complaint but they say to ask the hotel for refund or they say to get letterpad from hotel stating they had this problem. I booked it via Hotels In America so it should be hotels in america to go and ask the hotel for refund but in order to avoid the refund, hotels in America is giving me run arounds.Initial Complaint

On Aug 22, 2024, I booked a hotel room in *************, ** via "Hotels In America" from Oct 31-Nov 4. I traveled to ************* from *******, ** on Oct 31 expecting the hotel would be open. It was not. I was not notified by Hotels In America of the closure, which the hotel front desk woman, ***** *******, verbally confirmed to me on Nov 6 that the hotel had notified the third-party booking site of the closure due to Hurricane ****** that hit Daytona between Oct 5-Oct 10.Due to the negligence of Hotels In America to notify me of the closure, I was without a hotel room over ***** miles away from home. Because I was not notified, I was not afforded the opportunity to book another hotel room in a timely manner. I seek a refund for the full amount because the service I had paid for three months in advance was never rendered.I've been trying since Oct 31 to secure a refund, and every time I believe I understand the refund process I get hit with another wall imposed by Hotels In America as a reason to not return my money. I've spent 9 hours trying to resolve this issue. I've sent emails and made 18 phone calls between the hotel and ************** that runs the hotel telling me to call Expedia/Hotels In America for the refund and then having Expedia/Hotels In America tell me I, as the customer of **********************, need some kind of documentation from the closed hotel that I'm not privy to as the customer of ********************** to get a refund (the industry standard is for the third party booking service to contact the hotel for this information, according to the hotel). I've submitted forms I received from Hotels In America providing what little documentation I could obtain from and about the hotel trying to prove my case and I've yet to receive a subjective decision on my documentation or a refund, the former of which is not industry standard and an unfair business practice. This business is a scam.Customer Answer

Hi Aspen-Thank you for responding to the complaint I filed. I just read your response to my unanswered complaint and wanted to inform you/BBB that I received a full refund of the amount I requested from the company. Im not sure how to log that on my complaint, but wanted to make known that this issue has been resolved, though I still believe they have unfair consumer business practices there, to which I know there isnt anything that can be done about that other than to make others aware.Thank you for the diligence and follow up, and closing this complaint.~*****Initial Complaint

I'm disputing the $143.34 charge from Hotels In America on July 26, 2024. They're a 3rd party booking for the hotel property I stayed at- Best Western in *******, **. The room conditions were unsanitary, therefore the hotel refunded payment back to Hotels in America for them to refund payment to me for my inconvenience. I was initially in room 306. I requested to move because of noisy guests in a connecting room, and a dirty red straw on the floor indicating that the floor probably wasn't vacuumed. I switched to 319. I was already in the shower when I saw long strings of hair on the shower wall that aren't mine. Best Western customer service confirmed that they processed the refund to Hotels in America on July 30th. I have called and emailed them multiple times. When I initially spoke with them, they verbally confirmed that due to the circumstances I will receive a refund. I sent the email communication to them and they have not refunded me. Even if they claim to have a no refund policy, they've been paid twice, once by me, and now from Best Western. They are in possession of funds rightly due back to me. I would appreciate your assistance. ******* ********Initial Complaint

Booked a hotel and paid for it. A month later stayed and checked out at 3:00 a.m. because of bed bugs and was charged for the night again. Immediately contacted hotels in America and was told "don't worry we will review it". 5 days later received an email stating "if you are refunded you will be charged $30". I just want to make sure nobody's staying in there until it is clear. And I'm not clear why I have to pay $30 for them referring me to a company with well feed bed bugs. Hotel was booked on October 6th for the dates of October 8-10 in anticipation of the upcoming mandatory hurricane evacuation. When I arrived at the *********** in ******* that I had booked, I was informed that Hotels America has knowingly overbooked the hotel and had promised to rebook all persons whose reservations could not b honored. It took over 4 hours to find out that Hotels America would do nothing but refund my credit card and provide me with about $20 in compensation. Meanwhile I was left stranded with no hotel room with the hurricane coming and no lower price hotels left. I finally had to get a hotel with room prices of $522 a night instead of $100 a night for the two nights with only $20 compensation.
