******** scam company that has ****** intercepted sales.If you try to pay with anything other than ******; ****** intercepts sale anyway and holds you responsible for the sale even when you don't receive product!!I tried to use my CC and after putting in the information I got a ****** window pop-up that insisted on my new address. I backed out of sale never confirmed sale but ****** is still holding me responsible.They don't have my recent information because I don't use ****** because of these types of business transactions. And cancelled my account with ****** 10 years ago!I was using my **** card!Review from Andres J

Hardware failed 12 months after opening. The product offered a 3-year warranty; however, data recovery was not covered. Considering that their business IS data storage, having no data recovery and limiting their responsibility for the inferior products is deceived at best.Customer service is friendly but slow and lacking follow-up. I ordered a WD GOLD 4TB hard drive for my Plex Server *** and it lasted 4 years before it stopped working. I contacted WD via a service ticket and while the website was somewhat difficult to navigate I got in touch with a very kind lady who helped me submit a ticket which was approved within 3 days. I didn't have my original receipt because lets be honest how many people actually keep that for that long but they said I could just use my serial number. They sent me a return postage tag and I sent the drive back and received a new one within 30 days. I've heard a lot of horror stories about WD customer support but from my experience it was quick and easy. I am satisfied with the product and service so much so that I decided to take my time to write this review. I ordered two 4TB SSDs on 7/17/2024. The two SSDs were delivered to me on 7/21/2024. I opened the packing box but did not open either drive in their original packaging. I started a return process and sent the two 4TB SSDs back to Western Digital on 8/1/2024. The return was received on 8/6/2024, Western Digital processed the return on 8/15/2024 and rejected my return. I opened an investigation with UPS, UPS's investigation concluded that no tampering was involved with my package and was delivered to Western Digital. After communication with Western Digital, they launched an internal investigation and determined the drive they claim I sent was a 2TB SSD with a manufactured date of 8/3/2023 was sent to and from Best Buy at some point. The drives I purchased were directly from Western Digital's Online Store and returned directly to Western Digital. I was not involved with Best Buy in this purchase. I checked my order history with Western Digital, I have never purchased a western digital drive with the SN #: 23311S801213. None of my account registration shows a register or purchase of a drive from 8/3/2023 (the date the drive sent to me claimed to be from best buy by western digital) to 9/9/2024 (the date the 2 TB drive was delivered to me) other than the two 4TB drives I ordered and returned. I opened a case with Best Buy to investigate this incident, Best Buy determined nothing in my order history from 2023 nor 2024 shows any Western Digital products bought or registered to me. Western Digital is "denying to provide any details about the drive which they received under this return (which was sent to Best Buy initially)" They have sent me a drive that I never owned, said it was from Best Buy, which I have no relation to in this case, and refused to provide details about the drive they claim I sent them. My recent experience with Western Digital has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. As a consumer, I had hoped for a straightforward and professional interaction, but instead, I encountered a series of miscommunications, broken promises, and inadequate support.The issues began when I needed to address a warranty claim. Despite following all the necessary steps, I found myself repeatedly jumping through hoops, only to be met with conflicting information from various representatives. The lack of consistency and clarity in their communication was incredibly frustrating. At every turn, I was told something different, which only added to my confusion and dissatisfaction.When I finally received a replacement product, it was clear that it had been used beforescratched and not properly sealed. This raised serious concerns about the safety and reliability of the device, especially considering it was intended for data storage. To make matters worse, the company did not provide a return box or label for the original product, leaving me with the impression that they did not care about retrieving it.Attempts to resolve these issues were equally disappointing. I was unable to reach a U.S.-based representative despite multiple requests, and the overseas representatives I did speak with were difficult to understand. Additionally, my reasonable request to discuss certain matters only with U.S. representatives, due to safety concerns, was not honored. This lack of empathy and initiative from Western Digital's support team is troubling.Adding to the frustration, I continued to receive calls from their representatives at inappropriate timeslate at night and on weekendsfurther demonstrating a lack of professionalism.Overall, my experience with Western Digital has been extremely negative. Get the heck away from wd!!!!!!!!Bought 2 *************** 4 tb nvme m.2 which arrived defective.The day I installed them they failed tests.I immediately contacted them which they advised me they would do an advanced RMA for both of them and would receive an email within 3 hours.Never received the email, reached out to them again next morning, after getting the run around **** said he would do advanced RMA for both and he would follow up in 24 hours. After 30 hours I reached out again, same situation with same runaround.Contacted again where I was told from a previous email from months ago that I tried several times to get a return label and after no response after the a5th try and 3 weeks later I disposed of the defective hhd they needed that drive before they could do another RMA for the nvme m.2 which I paid them directly 632 dollars for.I contacted my cc ************ told them they arrived in working order even though I sent wd evidence they were defective Wd are thieves and don't give a **** about the consumer.Do not buy from wd get ******* or crucial or Seagate but run far as you can away from wd their junk and thieves.Review from Dylan H

It took three weeks for me to submit an RMA for a faulty drive that I purchased from Western Digital. The problem was that I was allegedly using the wrong billing address, however, I only have one billing address saved to my Western Digital account and I attempted to use multiple credit cards that use that exact billing address. My customer support request went through multiple people over three weeks until it was finally "forwarded... to the dedicated team." During this period, I asked if they could compensate me for my time, each of those requests were ignored. This will be the last time that I purchase anything from Western Digital.Review from Matthew Y

Ordered a 10TB *************** directly from WD.com nearly a month ago. It arrived DOA. Completely unusuable. Opened a case, was told theyd be replacing itand then nothing. Its been two and a half weeks, I keep asking for an update, asking whats going on, nothing. No sit tight, were a bit back-logged no he, were out of stock of that drive no explanation given whatsoever. Just sent me a broken product and then completely ghosted me.Eventually, I started a whole new support chat session with the *** department. The person I was talking too then transfered me directly to the person who helped me the first time. The person said he remembered me, and that they would be sending me a drive "once he verified my eligibility." First of all, I bought DIRECTLY from their website. I filed the issue the same day it arrive how in God's name would I NOT be eligible? Second, How long does it TAKE to confirm eligibility, and why is it so hard to update a customer? There's no excuse for this behavior!I've been a long time customer of WD. When their products work, they work well. But apparently when they don't you're just up a creak with a support structure that has no clue what they're doing, or else just doesn't care.Review from Terrial Y

Got the wrong. Canceled it before it shipped. Got a valid confirmation of cancelation email. They shipped the part anyway so I contacted them. They recalled the part and also kept my money. So they got their part and also my money. I have screenshots if proof is needed. I've escalated this to their supervisors *****, ******, and ********. And even to their manager ****. They are all aware of what they did. They told me " our hands our tied, there is no option to refund you". So I recommend you never buy from WesternDigital.comWestern Digital Corporation Response

Thank you for providing the communication for this review from *************************, Western Digital Corporation is eager to provide a resolution or clarification for all customer concerns. According to the case history located for this customer, they initially contacted us outside of online store support hours requesting an immediate cancellation for their online store order. The technical support agent they spoke with attempted to assist and direct the case to our online store team to address, however due to the large number of orders and case volume over the holidays, the order was processed and shipped before any action could be taken. Once an order is processed, it cannot be cancelled in our system and therefore an immediate refund was not possible.
In an effort to resolve the customers concern, our team requested the package be returned to sender on 11/30/23 and customer was informed they would be refunded once the package was received back at the warehouse per standard policy. On 12/4/23, customer was informed the refund had been issued. We apologize for the delay and inconvenience caused to the customer.Review from Marla M

WARNING: Western Digital's claim that San DIsk's USB flash drives and be shared in FLASE. After two years and hundreds of hours on working on a project and distributing data to others on their SanDisk's USB flash drives, I discovered that some systems won't even read the flash drives let alone let me edit or retrieve it's data.When I contacted customer service about the details, they were ambiguous and not very transparent with what they could do for me as a customer. They refused to give me a full contact name and phone number of a supervisor who was supposed to be handling my case. They ghosted me. They said that they would get back with-in 24 to 48 business hours of my claim and they never did.This makes me very suspicious of the company and I have lost faith in the product as my new computer will does not recognize the SanDIsk USB drives. The computer has been "trouble- shooted" and IT IS a SanDisk issue with not being able to retrieve the data from this project.
