I've had issues with this service in the past. Previous issue was resolved. The service I paid for was not received. Coins were sent back and appropriate service was applied. However, this time my issue was more troubling.I submitted an error coin order, hoping to get error designation on a number of coins. Received none. Understandably, it's reasonable to believe that their error and variety experts are credible. But this time I had strong reservations about 2 coins in particular. One an obvious unrecognized double die nickel and a ******** half dollar with an obvious "U" die clash on the overseas. After questioning the service, they told me to resubmit at my cost to review without them viewing the images they already have on file. That's an unacceptable business practice. Also the turn around time was excessively short for an inspection of 16 possible error coins. Time elapsed coincided with time spent on normal non error coin inspections.Review from Robert M

I think anyone who grades a coin shouldn't have the authority to have a price guide. This gives them full control over how many 65's there are. I sent in a coin it definitely a 66 I probably will get a 64 cause the price for a 65 is 1000 more then a 64. This give them full control over the grades and prices. I sent in mint silver eagle dollars not once did I get a 70 always 69, 68. They say they don't know who's coin their grading that's bs. The dealers get most of the 70's so the little guy suffers. That's my opinion. It's a shame you can't get a decent company. ICG Is more accurate then pcgs, more fair but everybody wants pcgs. Ngc is just like pcgs a little more fair but not by much. It's a shame that you have to buy pcgs cause that the only one that sells when it's time to unload.Review from Ryan O

Ship my coin ***** and ***** was not a available at the pick up time. I drove over 100 miles to pick up the coin, ***** shipped it back. PCGS said I had to pay for the shipping again? This was a coin I paid $131 dollars for and if shipped again another $41 for a wrong grade and designation, that makes the coin worth $30. They stole the coin and was no help at all. Horrible company! Use ANACS, cheaper, faster turn around and better customer **********************.Review from Paul E

For the life of me I can't understand why anybody with any authority and wouldn't step up and say that's enough. I also don't understand why collectors would keep sending valuables to any of them when they are stealing from them. I include myself because I've sent many and I couldn't believe the things they actually do to trusting clients. I inherited 2 1964 SMS ********************************* from my father and I hesitated on getting them graded. I mean nearly flawless full step quality. Only 40 are known to exist so I was told there's no way 2 of them could ever be in the same room together and guess what, THEY PULLED THE SWITCH -A- ROO and sent me back 2 1964 Proof67 coins in which they've graded over ****** of and over ***** in grades higher. I definitely have proof I own them. I even went as far as having pictures made with them right next to my driver's license. They have to be stopped. I'm definitely exposing them whether anybody thinks pictures or whatever means nothing. I will create a media frenzy because I'll never shut up about my family heirlooms. Do they think I'll just walk away? Would you? $30,000 is the value of just 1. Nobody is going to enjoy my father's hard work by stealing it. That's criminal my American people. You have to make noise. Sit back and watchReview from Roy M

Note: All of the below acquisitions are only alleged and from my personal observations and point of view. Some of them are quite serious. On April 24, 2024, I sent PCGS a 1893-S ****** dollar by Registered Mail. I believed that this coin was AU-50 or better. This is a very valuable coin. When my package arrived to PCGS they informed me that they only received a 1887-S ****** dollar. I believe that my valuable coin was lost or stolen at the PCGS facility and that a lesser coin was substituted in its place. There are several possibilities that could have happened:Number one possibility: The supervision and quality control of their incoming mail was faulty. My coin got mixed up with other incoming coins. The Receiving Specialist was obviously a confused and disorganized person. She sent me email that was meant for a different person describing a problem with their $5 Gold coin. She sent me email referring to submission numbers which were not mine. She made typo errors that she later apologized for. If this is true then maybe my valuable coin is still in their facility, or maybe it got shipped out to a different person?Another possibility: My coin was stolen by an individual in the receiving room and then another coin was substituted for it. This facility may process dozens of coins a day. There was a person in the receiving room, that came to work with an average ****** dollar in their pocket, that was just waiting for the correct situation to use it. Through slight of hand, at an obscure angle from the cameras, they replaced my valuable coin with their average coin.I have been talking with their investigative people, they disagree. I have not seen the movies of their procedure. I really would like to see them Someone in their facility stole my coin. With normal eyesight it is easy to see the difference between the numbers 1893 and 1887. Three people (including myself) saw me put the correct coin in my package and ship it to PCGS.Review from michael S

The review page says there are 37 customer reviews and I believe there could be many many more if allowed. Nearly all rating of a 1. Many say that is too high and I agree as they need to add a zero rating to the ratings. I have collected coins now for many years (80) with all the problems early days had. Then along come the present day folks that say they are professionals self made. Cut them self into a big pie with large fees and manipulation of grading as only they self made professionals can do. Their self-patting on the back of themselves is unbelievable - in quality no, pocketing of money yes. If you don't believe what I am writing, just read the 37 reviews nearly all complaints. I have now stopped sending in my coins for grading. In future I will just put a price on my coins for sale. Anyone wants them can pay the price or not. I'll listen to counter offers but I may or may not take there offer.Review from WILLAIM R

why can't you guys just look at the video you have receiving my coins and just show me its mine , myself i have no records of the 93 ***** i was sent so we can resolve this matter and move on . i will not let this go i need to know because if you don't have it the postmaster dose because he watched me package them all i know it just a ***** but its one of a kind and im donewith people getting away with twisting and breaking the law to where it suits them . just do whats right and look at the video , thats the whole idea of having it is to cover your a** isn't it , so lets see the video and be done with it already its been months ,and i have spent over a thousand dollars on eight coins that were declared high value , with none of them being labeled right , and all being labeled as cleaned , i might have two dollars there plus they swap one out and sent me something that even if you new nothing about coin grading you would have enough common sense not to send that in . so if someone has a law suit with them let me knowReview from James J

I believe these people take your coins and if they can auction them for a high price well then they'll Will just pay you something if it goes to court. ! but how could you trust the company that says everything you put in is clean scratched or damaged but then they offer at the same time services for cleaning and repairing them how could anyone trust that!?! I had one encounter with them and I was done!!!! but I go to coin shows and I see their nasty deceptive furtive people looking at me strangely cuz I'm on to them!....yes I'm on to you!! there are places where you can have authenticated and that's all we need as collectors really really really!! We have eyes we can see we let people deceive us right in front of them too!!!! so, I say don't waste your money there are some ethical places that just do grading like 1 to 10 and if it's just a real coin or not!I know someone who works for them and he says it's ridiculous and the lights that use and the tools they use it's just puffing to make it look like they're doing something and they're smarter than you! What really happens is they have buyers and they have auctions and if your coin is going to sell to the highest bidder and of course you're going to insure it for a lot less when you take it in because if you shoot for the right amount of price you wouldn't be able to afford sending in your coins to be authenticated by way of mail they got you coming and going!! Gypsies tramps and thieves stay away off with their heads!Just get your coin graded like they do with stamps and dollar bills is it real like we should say baseball cards is it real is it not how does it look like we can't see being sarcastic.Professional Coin Grading Service Response

PCGS is not in the business of taking people's property and auctioning it off. We are a secure facility that inventories our customers items from when they come in until they are safely returned to our customers in our holders. Please come over and chat with our team at the next show. We love engaging with our customers.Review from Jeffrey T
